First were starting with breaking news. This is a live look from the action cam as Police Investigate a shooting that injured a Convenience Store employee in the citys tacony section. The worker at the 7eleven on the 6900 block of torresdale avenue was shot twice during an attempt robbery that went on at 4 00 this morning. The shooter and another man took off with the cash. Police say they tracked down at least one person of interest. He was found on a nearby roof. The victim was wounded in the arm and chest. Hes in the hospital now in stable condition. Well have a live report from the scene in the next 30 minutes. Also developing overnight a teenager has been the victim of street violence. The 14yearold was shot to death overnight in the Port Richmond section and that same gunfire also injured a 16yearold. Action News Reporter Jeanette Reyes is live for us now at Police Headquarters with what they figured out so far. Good morning, jeanette. Reporter good morning, tam. The younger of the two victims was shot to death. A second is at the hospital right now with gunshot wounds and police are sifting through the evidence trying to track down the person or people behind this shooting. Take a look at these images from the bloody scene. This is in the citys Port Richmond section at the intersection of frankford and oreland. Police responded to reports of gunfire. A 14yearold boy was shot multiple times in the neck and back. He was taken to Saint Christophers Hospital and initially listed in Critical Condition but later died from his injuries. Police then found a 16yearold shooting victim. He had injuries in his neck and shoulder or shoulder rather. He is in stable condition. Police have no suspects or a motive on anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact authorities. Reporting live at Police Headquarters, Jeanette Reyes, channel6 action news. All right, jeanette, thank you for that. And happening today, jury deliberations continue in the murder trial of a Camden County father. David d. J. Creato is accused of killing his threeyearold son brendan on thursday jurors watched the video for the third time showing creato being interviewed by police after his young son was found dead. Prosecutors argue that creato killed his son to maintain a romantic relationship with a teenaged girlfriend but creatos defense lawyer maintains that prosecutors did not prove guilt. Happening today, mayor jim kenney will hold a News Conference to address several recent deadly fires in philadelphia. The mayor will join fire commissioner adam thiel and representatives from the red cross this afternoon to speak about the importance of fire safety and prevention. A fire claimed the lives of two children and their grandmother in north philadelphia on sunday morning. Another fire in the wynnefield neighborhood on may 21st killed an elderly couple and their adult son. Police in Delaware County are investigating a rash of thefts involving large truck batteries. The thieves first struck a week ago targeting auto repair shops along the route 291 corridor in eddystone tinicum and treanor. They stole eight batteries from one business alone. No arrests have been made. Lehigh valley zoo is officials are trying to figure out exactly what led to the death of a young giraffe. Zoo Officials Say sixyearold ernie the giraffe died from a neck injury on sunday. Officials say zoo staff separated ernie from his father after ernie began exhibiting aggressive behavior towards the older giraffe. They had both recently arrived from the kansas city zoo. Happening today, jury selection begins in the trial of a Minnesota Police officer whose Fatal Shooting of an africanamerican man made national headlines. Officer Jeronimo Yanez pleaded not guilty to charges he wrongfully killed 32yearold philando castile. Yanez says he shot castile during a traffic stop last july outside of saint paul because he believed castile was reaching for a gun. Castiles girlfriend was in the car and live streamed on facebook her interaction with yanez after the shooting. She says castile had told the officer he had a licensed gun and that he had been clear that he was reaching for his i. D. Not a weapon when he was shot by yanez. Authorities found castile did indeed have a permit to carry. New on action news an 82yearold man is being called a hero for fighting off an attacker at his Northern California home. Yusef youkhaneh was inside his san jose home on sunday when he heard his wife scream from the backyard. 76yearold Christina Youkhaneh says a female burglar hit her in the head with a stick. The husband ran outside and scuffled with the intruder holding her down until sheriffs deputies arrived. She tried bite me in the finger, make it like that and then really she fight before running away like tiger. Officers arrested 50yearold rehnu singh. Yusef youkhaneh is a former champion weight lifter and says he still works out daily. Propro golfer tiger woods says alcohol was not a factor.
