As we take a look at the satellite image you can see theres going to be a lot of sunshine early and well probably transition to sun and clouds overall today. Slight chance of a popup shower or a thundershower today. The bigger issue there will be later tonight in tanern suburbs. For now, 75 degree humid conditions out there. 68 in allentown. Most of us in the mid to upper 70s, though. And your dewpoints are also in the 70s so again, 7 temperat in philadelphia, coupled with a dewpoint of 73, those two numbers get that close, you know its saturated and you get anything over 70 on this dewpoint map and its oppressive humidity especially after the sun starts to come up. As we go through the afternoon were going to climb into the 90s. Todays high will be 93 degrees. Again, feeling a lot worse than that. It happened at the 69th street terminal. At this point its only affecting the norristown high speedline and you are going to expect some delays with that, though. Trains are running between norristown and 69th street. Septa tells us one track will remain closed so that means the trains are only running every 20 minutes. Theyll see these delays and no express service. All local service meaning all all trains make all stops. If you want to avoid any of the delays you could take the Paoli Thorndale line. Heres the norristown high speedline, 69th street terminal. Heres the Paoli Thorndale so you could take that instead of the nor speedline. Lets go outside on the roads and see what it looks like out there. Fog is a little bit of an issue in some spots. This is a live look at 422 at trooper. Overnight construction is clear. I just got off the phone with septa officials and they tell us the conductor has been released from the hospital. Theres still dozens more. They were taken from this scene where there is an investigation under way. At 12 15 this morning Authorities Say a norristown high speedline train was arriving at the 69th street station and crashed into an empty stationary train. Police and ambulance were rushing people out by the dozens, this after victims were initially evaluated at the scene. About 20 ambulances lined the street from 69th to Victory Drive on market ready to rush those patients to several area hospitals. Our Fire Department, Police Department issued a box alarm for various ambulances. Theres been approximately 20 ambulances dispatched to upper darby and theyre out to, like i said, the various hospitals. Everythings pretty much under control right now. Theres still some standing passengers that are going to be taken that are not serious but still we want to have them checked out. Reporter a total of 42 people were injured, four of those were seriously injured. The conductor of the train was also transported. No word on et of their injuries. Weve been through the mass casualty Incident Response scenario here on prior occasions. This one went just like we would have expected with the plans that we put in place and the scenarios that we practiced. So, a couple of areas really creating problems because of the fog out there. We want to go right now and show you some of the problems that we have through the area. And maybe we can go ahead and punch up some of our things over there on the router if we can because theyve been switched back to weather. Currently the train accident that we have been following there in norristown and there you can see the big picture that we have through the area showing some slowing through the region right now as youre traveling. You can kind of see on that map on the schuylkill but here you go on the schuylkill because this is a new accident westbound right here and we see that weve got an ambulance on the scene, penndot on the scene. It looks to be another single vehicle accident, our second single vehicle accident on the schuylkill expressway westbound in the general same area. This is past the conshohocken curve but we see now how low we are in this area because of that. Watch for that on the schuylkill expressway westbound problems created because of that accident scene causing big issues. With mass transit again here you can see the trains that are involved in this accident. So, septa had an accident overnight at the 69th street terminal involving norristown high speedline trains, dozens of people were injured. Weve been talking to reporters on the scene but we want to mention if youre using the norristown high speedline trains are only running every 20 minutes so thats going to cause delays and also were seeing no express service through the region.
