We have the cold in place and then tracking the snow, sleet and then the rain in the delaware and Lehigh Valleys. The windchills this afternoon telling the story. North of west of town in the low teens. 19 in reading and lancaster coming in at 9 degrees, 3 in the poconos. Windchill here in philadelphia 22 and 15 the current number in millville. As we go through the rest of the afternoon, the windchill tracking showing you that windchill numbers are in the lower 20s before sun gives way to increasing clouds and eventually we await the arrival of tracking. And the winter advisory is mosted for the delaware and Lehigh Valleys, until 11 00 a. M. On saturday. We start with the snow and then freezing rain and then liquid precipitation in the area. The bulk of the precip arrives during the overnight hours and by 6 30 tomorrow morning we have snow to the north and west and youll notice the frozen precipitation to the north and west and rain in the delmarva that will head our way. Most locations start out with snow overnight and into early tomorrow morning but the change over times in the Lehigh Valley and northwest suburbs, the sleet and ice hangs on longer the further north you are from midmorning and rain by midday and the i95 metro area, sleet and rain. Be patient if its freezing rain there is not much to do except salt and keep the streets clear as much as possible. Good afternoon rick, its a sad day here in the quiet section of cobbs creek there were great neighborly displays of courage here this morning and tragedy as well. As you said the 10yearold boy died in the vicious fast moving fire here on Miller Street this morning and his father is hospitalized with severe burns at this hour. You see lni and other workers clearing out the four damaged homes that were severely damaged here this morning. As i said the father has severe burns and the Fire Department got here quickly son did police who tried to save the boy as well. The fire broke out at 4 00 this morning at 1207 Miller Street and spread to three adjacent row homes, they battle the weather and elements a 12yearold boy died in the fire despite efforts by the neighbors to save him. And the father scrambled to safety. There was nothing that could be done. But you tried and the flames beat you back. The smoke and flames neighbors were able to save the life of this 89yearold woman in 1205, she was carried outside of the back door of her home. Father remains hospitalized in serious condition at this hour. At this point i am withholding the name of the 10yearold child that perished in the blaze, five families in all were burned out of their homes this morning and being helped with food and shelter by the red cross at this time.
