The offduty officer and his girlfriend were not hurt. Police have recovered a rifle from the scene. In north philadelphia, police are searching for a gunman who tried to rob a man of his jewelry overnight. A 57yearold man was shot in the thigh when he was attacked as he arrived home at the intersection of cornwall in north philadelphia. The two struggled over the necklace the wouldbe robber pulled out the gun and fired. The suspect ran off. The victim was rushed to the hospital in stable condition with a gunshot to the thigh. A street performer from philadelphia who became a fan favorite on a nationally televised singing competition has died. Anthony riley left the show earlier this year to deal with Substance Abuse issues. He was found dead inside a home on center city. Friends say he took his own life.
