Patricks day around 3 00 a. M. When a man approached them. Witnesses say the man who was wearing a new jersey devil baseball cap asked the victim if he was a flyers fan and stabbed the victim in the stomach at least once and ran down 19th street. Police administered cpr, but the 24yearold was pronounced at the hospital. We spoke to a woman who was living on Rittenhouse Square she noticed the commotion and ran over and tried to help the victim before police arrived. Everybody was hysterical, it was clear something bad had happened. I put my coat off and put pressure on him, win a couple of minutes the ambulance was there, it was tragic and senseless. Now, police say several surveillance cameras captured the incident. They are reviewing the video.
