The thick of it. Even the interstates are slick. Hes bringing you the full forecast this morning. Buzzer beater, Mississippi States stunning win in the womens final four. She got it. She got it. The uconn huskies historic 111game winning streak shattered. The bulldogs now heading to the championships getting a locker room visit from robin. Thank you for elevating Womens Basketball. Msus coach joins us this morning only on gma. And im hanging on the moment with you im on the edge with you hey, good morning. Paula is off this morning. Very happy, though, to have ace White House Correspondent cecilia vega here on the desk. Hey, thanks. Happy april fools day. Thank you. This is no joke. No joke. Lets take another look at that buzzer beater overnight, again, this is no joke. A lot of people might think so and after 111 games, though, the uconn Womens Basketball team has finally lost. That so awesome. Mississippi state shocking the world and now heading to the championship. More of what our own Robin Roberts had to say to members of that team after the game. I cannot wait to see that. Some people in connecticut dont think its awesome but with our apologies to them well be covering that story aggressively this morning. Also coming up, the spring snowstorm. Take a look at this shot from portland, maine. It looks like the middle of winter and rob has the forecast. Cold out there. We do want to start with a new security concern about airplane travel. Abc news has learned there is now u. S. Intelligence suggesting terrorists have obtained Airport Security screening equipment and maybe using it to figure out how to sneak explosives into Electronic Devices and past Airport Security. Not what you want to hear and on a saturday morning and abcs Gloria Riviera has more from Reagan National airport in d. C. Gloria, good morning to you. Reporter good morning to you, dan, cecilia. The specific devices in question that were talking about here are laptop, tablets, anything bigger than a cell phone really and the chief concern is that technology is now being shared among terrorist organizations on both developing these types of devices and getting them past Airport Security. New u. S. Intelligence suggesting terrorists obtained Airport Security screening equipment. Sources familiar with the matter telling abc news this in efforts to test their ability to conceal explosives inside Electronic Devices and avoid detection. We dont really know what level of technology isis may have gotten its hands on. But if it was around an airport that they may have captured in syria or iraq, it probably wasnt cutting edge and its probably not the same level of capability or sophistication you would find in a western european airport. Reporter the latest in the wake of officials recently banning electronics bigger than cell phones from the cabins of jetliners flying from eight middle Eastern Countries including several allies. A response to intelligence suggesting isis is developing new explosives small enough to place inside electronics. What theyre trying to do here is put a bomb in a laptop so that when its xrayed, it doesnt appear like theyve taken out the inside of the laptop and just packed it with explosives. Reporter the department of Homeland Security saying in a statement, evaluated intelligence indicates that terrorist groups continue to target commercial aviation. We use a robust Security System that employs multiple layers of security, both seen and unseen. U. S. Authorities conducted a series of tests to evaluate intelligence. They took action based on ongoing concern isis continues to be focused on developing ways to smuggle explosives onto commercial airliners, dan, cecilia. Gloria, thank you. And were going to move on now to the developments, the latest developments in the investigation into russias election meddling. With all these questions swirling the ranking democrat on the House Intelligence Committee visited the white house to review classified documents, this as the president s former National Security adviser is now seeking immunity in exchange for testimony in that russia investigation. Abcs david wright has the latest from the white house this morning. Hey, david, good morning to you. Reporter good morning, cecilia. Good morning, dan. You know, the president is denouncing this as a witchhunt. Others have noted the whole thing has an inspector clouseaulike quality to it, but the russia investigation proceed, and there are new developments despite the poisonous atmosphere that surrounds it. The ranking democrat on the House Intelligence Committee was at the white house friday reviewing the same classified documents his gop counterpart was shown in secret last week. Afterwards adam schiff had a cordial tenminute meeting with the president but said he saw no reason the documents were shared with the republican chairman and not the full committee. Republican devin nunes has been under fire all week for his unusual white house visit, but nunes insists the committee is not getting distracted. So, well continue to investigate russia. Its long been a focus of ours and that hasnt stopped despite what you may see on the national media. Reporter former National Security adviser mike flynn says hes eager to tell congressional investigators everything he knows about russian meddling in the 2016 election, but flynn wants immunity. Lock her up. Yeah, thats right. Lock her up. Reporter during the campaign flynn took a harsh view when several clinton aides reportedly got immunity to testify about Hillary Clintons email server. When you are given immunity, that means that youve probably committed a crime. Reporter candidate trump clearly agreed. And if youre not guilty of a crime, what do you need immunity for, right . Reporter on friday President Trump ignored questions about flynn. Were you trying to tell the Justice Department to grant immunity to Michael Flynn . Reporter the fact that trump tweeted that mike flynn should ask for immunity led to an obvious question. So does the president think that mike flynn is guilty of a crime . I think he believes that mike flynn should go testify. He thinks that he should go up there and do what he has to to get the story out. With or without immunity . Thats up to him and his lawyer to decide. Reporter he has ties to moscow. One of Vladimir Putins closest aides told George Stephanopoulos theres no smoking gun. Are you concerned about anything he might say about his contacts with russia . Any blamings that russia could have been interfering in states is slander. Reporter now, at bottom the Russian Investigation is looking into the possibility that there were conflicts of interest and overnight the white house sought to clear up any lingering questions about financial conflicts of interest releasing Financial Disclosure forms for many of the top staffers who are collectively worth about 12 billion. Needless to say, its going to take time for the office of government ethics to pore over these disclosures. Dan, cecilia. Some of the wealthiest people to work in the white house. David wright joining us from the white house, thank you very much. Also in washington this morning, abc news political commentator cokie roberts. Hey, cokie, good morning. Good morning. Lets start with general flynn. If he testifies do we think he possibly could do some real damage to his former boss . It depends on what he knows and what has, in fact, happened and we really dont know the answer to that. It is amusing that everybody is able to pull out these quotations from both the general and the president about immunity now that apparently his lawyer is asking for it, but, look, mike flynn was the First Casualty of this administration and he probably is not very happy with his former boss. Hey, cokie, lets talk about that press conference, the press briefing yesterday. One of the stranger ones. In recent memory. Sean spicer is not backing down. Sean spicer is not backing down from the president s wiretapping claims. And this while they cant pass health care, so are they stepping on their own agenda here . Well, cecilia, as you well know youre usually in those briefings they can be quite bizarre. But the fact is that the agenda is a mess. And the president trying to go after members of that conservative Freedom Caucus and the house of representatives totally backfired. They all essentially, you know, gave him the bronze chair and said, you know, have yourself a ball. Were going to do what were going to do, and you also have this ongoing russia thing that the Administration Just simply cant seem to admit happened. So, you had yesterday the spectacle of the secretary of state and the secretary of defense talking about the russian incursion into our election and the white house just led by the president continues to back away from it. And its working to some degree. In a poll this week 75 of republicans said they didnt believe the russians had interfered in our election despite everything said by the Intelligence Services and the president s own cabinet. Cokie, let me ask you about something david wright reported a few minutes ago. Overnight the white house releasing these ethics filings for senior officials showing that we have some pretty rich people in the administration. Very rich. In particular we learned that ivanka trump is going to keep a stake in the Trump International hotel right there in washington and that her husband, jared kushner, has held on to much of his real estate empire worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Does this open them to conflict of interest complaints . Sure. They will be very much subject to those and the size of their wealth is somewhere around 700 million apparently. But i dont think, again, that this is something that youre going to hear a lot of voter complaints about. Everybody knew that the trumps were rich. They didnt seem to care that that was an issue and the fact that the president has surrounded himself with very rich people, several of whom might have conflicts i dont think is something youll hear a lot about from the voters. All right. Our political guru, cokie robert, thank you so much for joining us this morning. Always. Good to be with you. Lets turn now to our other big headline, that winning streak that la almost three years. But this morning it is shattered by a buzzer beater victory. This is amazing, and espns tony reali is here with the game everybody is talking about this morning. Mississippi step beating uconn. Hey, tony. Good morning. Its being called the biggest upset in history, the impossible happening. The reason why we love sports and we have to say again, this is not an april fools joke. Mississippi state has beaten uconn in overtime on a buzzer beater. On the drive. Pullup. Pullup. She got it. Reporter what youre seeing here hasnt happened for 111 games, 865 days, nearly three years. A buzzer beat to end all buzzer beaters. Morgan william and Mississippi State stunning uconn and the world. Call it the thrill of defeat. Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma grinning ear to ear out of respect as his team lost for the First Time Since 2014. The kid made a great play and thats one of the toughest shots to make from that distance, you know, under that kind of pressure. Reporter the huskies trailing by as many as 14 in the first half. She lays it in. Reporter but managed to claw their way back against the fearless bulldog team. It was a battle on the hardwood as the two teams exchanged points and blows all the way to overtime. Uconn seemingly set up for victory after a controversial flagrant foul sent Katie Lou Samuelson to the line for two but the huskies turn the ball over just moments later literally opening the lane for this moment. Pullup. Pullup. She got it. Reporter now one game away from championship gold, the bulldogs getting a special visit from hall of famer, our very own Robin Roberts. You got one more. You celebrate. You bring it down. You got one more. Thank you for elevating Womens Basketball the way you have. Thank you. [ cheers and applause ] how cool is that . And robin is not wrong, of course. One more game, some sports fans will remember the miracle on ice, team usa hockey beat russia. Still had to play another for the gold. How do you follow up what you just did last night, though, if youre Mississippi State . You beat finland. You beat finland. In this case, South Carolina. That will be tricky, ron, but thank you very much. What a stunning display of sportsmanship on the part of the uconn coach. Geno auriemma and the entire team. They know what they mean to this sport, to Womens Basketball. This is very good. For them to lose, not great for people in connecticut, as you said earlier, but for the sport its wonderful. What a story. And the people in finland are really upset. Tony, thank you very much. He knows what i mean. I know what you mean. As is his want by the way just moments ago i had a chance to speak with Mississippi State head Womens Basketball coach, vic schaefer. Coach, congratulations. Thank you very much for joining us. How are you feeling the morning after . Hadnt caught too many zs, so to speak, but just really proud, proud of my kids, proud of my staff. So much goes into a season like this, and to beat an unbelievable opponent like the one we defeated last night is really special. Did you did you have any real confidence that you could pull off this victory, and what was your game plan going into the night . Yeah, absolutely. I mean, you know that the challenge before you is really, really obviously really big. I think in our locker room watching film and in talking about what it would take to have a chance at the end for victory, we knew that we were playing well and knowing who my kids are, their character, you know, just their toughness. I think its safe to say youre getting the credit you deserve now. It was an indisputably amazing victory. Last night. Let me ask you about the young woman who made that incredible buzzer beater shot morgan william. Can you tell us about her and that moment . Morgan has been a tremendous leader for us. She has great Court Awareness and savvy, and she wanted to be in that moment. Shes obviously playing well for us. She had 41 against baylor in the elite eight game that got us here but none of those shots any bigger than the one she hit last night. The shot of a lifetime. Vic schaefer, we can hear it in your voice. Not a lot of sleep and a whole lot of screaming of late for you and its not over yet. Youre going into the big finals against South Carolina, and we here at abc news wish you the best of luck and thanks for joining us after a huge night. Thank you for having me. Praise the lord and go, dogs. Praise the lord and go, dogs. Thats my new bumper sticker. Wores to live by. You can catch the Mississippi State versus South Carolina Game Tomorrow Night on espn2. All right, but the first day of april is bringing more than just showers to the northeast. It is also bringing sleet, snow and a Winter Weather alert. Rob marciano is in lowell, massachusetts. Rob, you got a lot of snow out there, huh . Yeah, you do. Look at that. We do. Weve got everything, cecilia.
