Dinkins took off before he took a sharp righthand term between these two houses. And according to the report, he cut through those two homes as the officer continued to chase. He slipped and fell on loose gravel, recovered and caught up with dinkins right behind this home and that is with the shooting incident happened. According to the report, dinkins started to pull a handgun from the waistband. The report says during the weapon and fired multiple shots as the suspect continued to move his gun in the opposite direction. The officer fired shots in the suspect collapsed. According to a preliminary autopsy report released by the das office today, he was shot four times including once in the chest with injuries to his lungs and heart. He was also shot in the left forearm, right upper arm and shoulder. The da says nothing in the medical report matches the end eyewitness reports that he was shot seven times in the back. If you think about how someone can move their arms around, its difficult. You cannot necessarily determine where the injuries were inflicted, what direction the shots came from. In Wilson County, we are told that the Wilson CountySheriffs Department is the lead agency of this investigation. The Highway Patrol is looking into the crash. We are working to find out that mans identity and once we find out what his name is, we can get a condition report. But again, he was rushed to the hospital with lifethreatening injuries.
