The river was swollen and its expected to crest at feet. Feet. So really, there is not a lot of wiggle room but leaders are confident that the dam will hold but its really just a matter of reaches. Princeville is a lowlying down of about 2000 residents and a mandatory evacuation was ordered sunday, and the town manager tells us that he believes everybody took the orders seriously and left town. So, again, this is a river that is expected to cr this morning and a lot of people are keeping their eyes on it and watching to see what happens. Well be here to let you know thank you, julia sims. And we are monitoring a similar situation in moore county where officials have announced the imminent breach of the woodlake dam. That could cause an additional 2 to 3 feet of flooding. Voluntary e vac jogs in evacuation areas are in effect. And bryan mimes is live in moore county to bring us up to date on the perilous situation, and, boy you. It must mean potential trouble. Reporter yeah, yeah. The sheriffs departments making a big statement with all the cones across the roads. Do not cross through here. Im on 690. And this road is closed and several other roads are blocked. Homes were evacuated as well as homes along the lower river, lake, and officials, emergency officials will be gathering here at the Neighbors Country<\/a> store and assess how things stand. The Moore County Public Safety Department<\/a> said that a breach of the dam is, quote, highly likely, but so far, we stress so far, no breach has occurred. And the moore county ems told the pilot newspaper that a part of the dam had walked away and that likelihood. Evacuees we spoke with described fire trucks going past their homes and someone on the loud speaker you remembering them to get out as soon as possible. Downstream in springlake, there was an evacuation among the homes in the Lower Little River<\/a>. The staging area for firefighters and other emergency workers closed overnight, and as i mentioned, its expected to get back up and running in just a bit. At the Woodlake Country Club<\/a> who told me that the water is not flowing over the dam, a promising sign. Still, Authorities Say<\/a> the dam is in danger of breaching. They are urging people to stay away until they get a good assessment. Lena and bill . Hopefully, people heed the warning. President obama has declared North Carolina<\/a> a now eligible for federal aid and supplement the efforts already in motion. Damage surveys are continuing in other areas, and more may be designated after the assessments are concluded. And the assessments are easier because its not raining, bright and sunny and no clouds. How long will that last, elizabeth . Through the weekend and potentially into next week. Time to drop below flood stage. Coming up, we will look at the different river basins and see which towns will be affected and then crest and come back down. But you can see the beautiful view from south hill, partly cloudy saturday into sunday but in general, the weather will be nice. And rogers road near hobblebush way up on the northern side of wake county, wake forest, and when they will repair that big section of the road. A lot of the roads as elizabeth mentioned are still blocked. You can see the flooding symbol there with the problems problem in nash and edgecombe counties. 95 is blocked between dunn and fayetteville and 40 still blocked away from newton grove 301 between four oaks and i40 is closed in the central part of Johnston County<\/a> and the south side of Wilson County<\/a> parts of 264 is blocked. Something to keep in mind in the major roots you will see a lot of traffic getting off and looking for alternate routes so it will be slow in the parallel roads through town. Back to you. Duke them, dominion, 13,000, coop, 70,000 and electricitys, 30,000, a lot of people but thats down from the 3 quarters of a Million People<\/a> who had lost power just days ago. They are asking customers to be patient with them. And i can tell you from what i have seen, people are working hard even coming from as far as bill and lena . Mikaya thurmond, thank you. The city of raleigh will open Community Centers<\/a> for those who dont have power to gets hot shower, and four Community Centers<\/a> will provide daycare for 10 at yeace, park, green road, john chavis and abbotts creek, and th Chavis Community Center<\/a> will have rides on a carousel and food. And the u. S. Coast guard came in to help rescue people from pinetops, plucking at least eight people from rooftops and hoisting them to safety and rescued family pets. Unfortunately, the river has crested in fayetteville but they are still dealing with flooding. Minor flooding 35 feet, and just flooding happening on cape fear and fayetteville and the worst is over. Its on the way down. Bryan mims was here a few minutes ago, and this is where the woodlake dam is, and wondering if it will fail, depend does it, it will this runs from west to east towards the Cape Fear River<\/a>. Fort bragg and raeford where the river follows right there, and this is the potential for the flooding if the dam breaks. This is the little river near manchester. We were worried about that a few weeks ago with the flooding in fayetteville and felt that the dam might break then but it hasnt yet. Its beautiful around here, the durham skycam, 43 the current at 42. So feeling pleasant out there this morning. And chilly in roxboro and 40 in southern pines. 48 in goldsboro expected these temperatures are some of the coolest so far this fall. High pressure keeps things dry, and watching the cold front back to the west and that front is not likely to bring us rain and pump up the temperature thursday and the temperatures behind it back in the upper 60s. Upper 60s for today also, 74 for today morning but 48, not as cool. The high of 74 is normal for this time of year and 88 is the record set back in 2010. Has no estimate when they will reopen but in lumberton, there are detours. And 40 westbound is blocked heading away from newton grove to benson in Johnston County<\/a> and also, 70 is closed southeast at smithfield. 301 blocked at i40 at four oaks and richardson bridge road in princeton away. It will be a long time before those wash outs are repaired. Thats a big project and we were talking yesterday that we are in that time of year where it will be too cold to pave as we get deeper into november. The d. O. T. Has a lot of work on its hands. A look at the live drive time, back to work after a holiday yesterday and a lot of people are heading out and seeing that garner. 40 westbound between 440, here, and no delay out to the airport. Lean. Thank you, brian. A horse needing help in Cumberland County<\/a>. A horse named bob was in a pen when the floodwater came in. Rescuers got him out and loaded him on to a trailer and took him to another facility and now, they are working to find bob a place to live. You can have him out whether a group of deer stranded in floodwaters in wayne county were rescued. Sky 5 flew over the scene yesterday. You can see the group there. The deer were on a virtual island surrounded by floodwaters. We called the Wildlife Commission<\/a> to alert them that the animals were stranded. People in goldsboro and princeton are told to get out before the water rises. Technology. After hurricane floyd in 1999, officials invested in technology called the flood inundation mapping and Alert Network<\/a> and it can predict what areas will flood and when to get help sooner. They used this system in lumberton yesterday and it worked well. Crews are working to gather the footage from matthew and we are looking at them on social media. Renee chou has more on the pictures.
