One teenager rushed to the hospital. A cab driver may be to blame. Out for revenge. Tonight, the manhunt intensifies for a former lapd cop on a mission to kill. First tonight, though, a Winter Weather advisory is now in place for parts of our area. Theres a major storm barrelling up the east coast. It could be an historic snowfall for parts of the northeast. Strong wind, pounding rain, up to three feet of snow expected. And hundreds of flights have already been cancelled. Tonight, jim cantore is in boston. But were going to begin with doug to tell us what we can expect here. The storm is moving into our area right now. And it will be here through early tomorrow morning. And that does included rush hour and our Winter Weather advisory has actually been extended into other parts of the region. Making its way down towards richmond, notice whats happening right here. This yellow, this reddish, this is actually snow in the upper levels thats melting. It is falling as rain in richmond, but there is a little bit more in the way of cold air across the region. Thats why the National Weather service has extended the Winter Weather advisory in towards montgomery county, Howard County and baltimore. We could see some sleet, some snow and potential is also there for freezing rain. So in this area in purple, watch out. Early tomorrow morning, we could be seeing sop problems. D. C. Metro and areas to the south, this should be all rain. We should not be seeing any problems here. The storm coming together. The northern portion, the southern portion coming together. Just off the coast, moving right up towards new york and boston. Both of those big cityings are really in for a monster storm. Jim cantore is awaiting this storm right now. Good evening from boston here. Its rare that i bring a yardstick to do a snowstorm, but this one were pretty confident two othree feet of snow here in the boston area. Right now, it is bare ground. But huge concern is the vehicles on the road. The mayor and the governor want everybody off of the roads. Unnecessary vehicles by noontime tomorrow. The t, which is the main Mass Transit System shuts down tomorrow by 3 30 tomorrow afternoon. Slowly but surely theyll be closing down the city as the teeth of this storm begins to bite on boston. Probably about sunset. This is going to be a fast moving, a very punching storm for this area. Doug, back to you. We will have much more on this. Hes accused in a hit and run. Darcy spencer joins live to tell us how this when he will thing unfolded. When the scene unfolded behind me, police tell me that teen is clenging to life tonight. And police say a witness helped lead them to the suspect, a cab driver. This exclusive video shows Prince Georges CountyPolice Questioning a cab driver in connection with a hit and run. That crash left a teenager critically injured. Did you get a blanket for him . Mmhmm. I got the blanket. How is he doing . He had blood all over his head. He was in pretty poor condition. Just lying there. The teen was struck while crossing the 4700 block of wheeler road here in oxon hill tonight. They say he was not in a cross walk. Police say the cabbie who hit him kept going. Police say a citizen provided crucial information to police, leading them to the southern avenue metro. Thats where the cab and the driver were found. No charges have been filed against the driver so far. They say he is cooperating with the investigation. Headsup of a citizen that was able to observe the vehicle and was able to provide a great description and actually did a little bit of police work and was able to assist us in finding the vehicle and the driver. Back at the scene, all thats left is debris from the crash. And neighbors hoping the teen survives his injuries. Yes. It was very, very sad. And i couldnt believe it. I was here when they were putting him on the bed, and strapped him down. Just seeing a child getting hit is not good at all. In Prince Georges County, that teen remains in Critical Condition tonight. A plot of people want to know how does this keep happening . Tonight, theres a new sketch of the man thought to be responsible. And now, two elected leaders are speaking out as Community Concerns reach. A woman was walking in springfield and all of a sudden she says a man groped her. Tonight, 18 women are all hoping this groping spree ends. This is the man police say first started assaulting women five months ago. This is what one of his first victims told us. I feel someone touching me from behind. I try to push him away. When i turn back i face him and he ran away. Its just insane that it is still happening. We asked spring field supervisor about whats happening with the investigation. Why is it up 18 now. Are police doing enough . I think the police are doing everything they can. Police say in many of the attacks, the women were walking alone. When the man walked up from behind, grabbed them and ran away. Are you in talks with police, what are you hearing . Whats the mood . Well, im getting calls to my office. People are concerned. I am talking with the police, working with the police on a regular basis. But its really going to take citizens to catch this person. Tonight, police tell me there is a challenge with these cases. There is no forensic evidence the groper changes his appearance. There is no cell phone or surveillance video, and the attacks happen in seconds. We just need to make sure our citizens are alert. We also reached out to congressman Jerry Connell lee. He says, quote, i share the concerns of the communities about the series of sexual assaults in springfield and am confident that the Fairfax County police will bring these incidents to an end. Now until these incidents come to an end, some members in this Community Tell me that theyre going to remain in fear. Live here in springfield, virginia, news 4. Theres enough evidence in that massive manhunt for that former cop accused of killing Police Officers in their families in california. His plan is detailed in a chilling manifesto. He is seeking revenge after he was fired from the lapd. News 4s jim handley is with our live desk. More than 1,000 Police Officers are involved in this search. Right now, officers are going door to door near a ski resort about two hours from l. A. Its there late this evening that investigators found christopher dorners burnt out punt. They began following footsteps from the scene. Dorner is suspected of killing three people last week after being fired in 2008. He posteds a note on facebook warning he would go after officers and their families. A gunman shot at two officers protecting someone he named in that post. On sunday, a recently engaged couple was shot to death. The woman was the daughter of a Police Captain who represented him during his dismissal. He isnt just a former cop pe also served in the military. Of course he knows what hes doing. We trained him. This has gone far enough. You know, nobody else needs to die. Now, this case understandably has police rattled. Earlier today, officers open fired on a truck they mistakeningly thought was dorners. Two women delivering newspapers were wounded. Three men have been charged with robbing more than 30 homes in North Potomac since last sprins. Police caught them after break into a house last month. Theyre accused of stealing more than 100,000 worth of property. Tonight, theres a new deadline over a tightly guarded secret in the chandra levy murder case. The man convicted of killing the intern appeared in a d. C. Courtroom today, and theres a chance he could get a new trial. Courses tell news 4 theres new evidence in the 2001 murder that could taint some of the earlier testimony in trial. But its being kept private because of the possibility of a threat. Today, the judge gave the government 90 days to develop a security plan before the evidence could be released. A controversial video has been pulled out of Prince Georges County schoolses after it was shown to students for months. The 21minute antibullying film references a controversial therapy aimed at turning gays straight. The video was played by Health Teachers in six middle schools. But the School District couldnt tell us which ones. The video was pulled this week after questions in an email. School Officials Say they pulled the video because it did not include enough bullying prevention information. But amarked for identification the destruction, we found signs of progress. Michelle . Hey. Third generation resident Michelle Hogan on her weekly visit to check repairs to her flood damaged bungalow. You could see the water line. It was to about here. She evacuated before sandy hit. And found the first home in her floor inundated. The citys Rapid Repair Program put in her new furnace, a patch work of relatives, contracts and volunteers have done the rest. Were all okay. The things that are important to me, i have. I would like to be back, of course. I miss everybody, you know. We all do. In the meantime, hogan joins a legion of tens of thousands of sandy victims whose lives remane in limbo. Thousands of people are not in their homes. Thats incredible. This is your second time up there since the storm hit. Ive got to imagine thats aw l awfully hard to do, seeing the same thing a couple of weeks ago that you saw a couple of months ago. My photographer and i said were going to see signs of progress. Were going to see rebuilding efforts. And there is some of that. Theres been millions spent by the federal government to help people start to rebuild, but i have to say, its a lotless than we expected. But when you think about the scope of the damage, three months really is not a long period of time for people to get back on their feet. Theres a lot to be done. Heart breaking, though, for those who are having to endure this. And was even worse for those. We have another monster storm coming up that way. And they are kind of ground zero a bit. They really are. Some of the latest computer models now pinpoint new york as one of the hardest hit areas here. And thats really going to be the thing. Where exactly does this storm line up for them. For us, not a real big storm here, but for them, this is going to be a major storm. Theyll have moderate flooding. The moderate beach zone in that area. They will see the potential for upwards of a foot of snow in that region. Take a look at the radar. Right now, the rain starting to move in. Storm team four radar showing that rain down towards fredericksburg and around the richmond area. This is the snow right around charlottesville just to the west of the blue ridge here. I would not be surprised for some of this to start out as snow even around the d. C. Metro area and points just to the west. Thats why were looking at the Winter Weather advisory. Theyve been seeing the snow for the last two hours. There is heavier rain starting to make its way up and take a look at both of these storms. Once again, these two storms coming together. A classic scenario for a monster storm. They come together just off the coast. They bomb off the coast and pinpoint areas to the north. New york, province and up towards boston. The rain moves in by early tomorrow morning, right around rush hour. Thats when well see the heaviest rain. The heaviest should be just down to the south and east of washington. Down towards the southern portions of maryland. Back to the west, this could be an area of rain, snow, sleet, even some freezing rain. And once again, we could see some problems early. The storm moves out of here by 2 00 in the afternoon. So were done with this storm as far as precipitation goes. What comes in next for us is the wind and the very cold air. But the snow is in new york. The snow is in boston. If you have plans to travel up that way this weekend, you might want to think about it, because its really going to be quite bad there. The winds could be gusting upwards of 50 to 60 miles an hour. Lets take a look at the snowfall. This is just from one computer model. Nearly 15 inches potentially in new york. Some of the latest actually give a little more. Boston, nearly 32 inches of snow. For us, 1. 3. Thats what this says. I dont think well see that at all here. Its all going to be north and east. What i do think well see, though, is the winds. Take a look at these wind gusts, tomorrow afternoon, or rather saturday afternoon around noon, 60mileanhour winds in boston. 60 in providence. For us, over 40. So were going to have 40mileanhour winds here. Combine that with cold temperatures. Wind chills all day for us. Well stay in the 20s. So a nuisance storm for us. But a blizzard to major travel disruptions all along the east coast. If youre flying over the next couple of days, you want to make sure you call ahead, no matter where you are. Te a big concern here. Were dipping close to the freezing mark to the north and west. And thats where we could have problems tomorrow morning. Thats why we have the Winter Weather advisory. It now includes montgomery and Howard County, baltimore and loudoun counkoucounty. Watch out in this area if youre making your way in early tomorrow morning. Were going to continue to watch it right here throughout the day. Now, the heaviest will be in the morning and you want to look out for that messy rush hour. As far as temperatures go the next couple of days, a high of about 38 degrees on our saturday with wind which he wills in the 20s. 47 degrees on monday. Or 47 on sunday rather with another good chance of rain coming up on monday. Temperatures around 52 degrees. One heck of a storm, not just for them, but for us, too. Good weekend to hunker down.
