This is going to continue as we move on through the night, but everybody is going to be on the wet side tonight as theres a lot more moisture back to the west. Because of the moisture and the colder air, areas will see a lot of sleet over the next 12 to 24 hours, back to winchester, frederick, martinsburg. Winter weather advisory in effect until 1 00 a. M. New at 11 00, an ambulance driver is in the hospital with critical injuries, after a crash involving several cars. It happened about 7 00 this evening at washington boulevard near kit kat road in elk ridge. Several lanes were shut down by police and will remanin closed for a couple more hours. No word yet what caused this accident. A warning tonight after a student at the university of maryland told police she was sexually assaulted. Jackie bensen in college park right now where news of the attack has students concerned. Reporter this happened offcampus. The Victim Told Police her attacker didnt stop even after she bit him. An alert said the incident happened between midnight saturday and 1 30 sunday morning at an offcampus Apartment Building. The alert says the female student was at what is described as a gathering at that location. It says she went into a room. A man entered, closed the door, put his hand over her mouth and told her t. R s bit his hand, he slapped her and continued to grope her sexually until he was startled by someone entering the room. The victim escaped and ran home. Since september, at least three other female students have reported being groped by men who accosted them. Police dont believe the incidents are related. Students say they believe the university does a good job alerting them to and trying to prevent Sexual Assaults on and off campus. Just recently they sent out an Online Training thing that we all had to go through, it was lengthy and indepth. I think theyre trying to step it up. We get email alerts multiple times a day about whats happening. Theres also a new Sexual Assault workshop that all citizens are required to take, im pretty sure. The university of virginia, just got a large donation to help stop sex assaults on that campus. A group called the seven society, a secret group at uva announced a 57,000 donation to pay for training for what they call, bystander intervention. The University Also outlined planned today to fund a new police sub station to increase patrols and to hire more trauma counsellors. All of that is in response to a Rolling Stone article that suggested what it called a culture of rape at the campus. Its an opportunity to deal with issues too long ignored. Its 2 45 in the morning, on november 8th, as a victim tries desperately to open the door to the building, shes accosted by the robbers. Off camera, one of the victims is pushed to the ground. All three are robbed. Even the cell phones, i think or the keys, the money. This is woman is a friend of the victim. Amongst a group of students studying in d. C. Started here, there was a group of ten, thats what Authorities Say youre supposed to do, walk in a large group if youre out at night. By the time they got to the apartment, some of the group had peeled off. The women were using a rear door to the building, down an alleyw alleyw despit surve cameras, apparently not enough to deter the men in the video. The victims lost personal items but were left with some altered perceptions of the neighborhood. We were coming from mexico and thinking its safe, but now we change our opinion. Its not known if the men followed the women from the subway station, or if it was a chance crossing the paths that led to a crime of opportunity. Police hope these images will be enough to lead to a break in this case. None of the women were injured in this incident. Fortunately, they did not lose their passports to the robbers, so theyll be able to continue their studies. Of course it was a lesson that wont show up on any syllabus. Jody hunt was wanted for the shooting of four people in morgantown, West Virginia. The shootings happened in three different places. Late this evening, officers found the body of a man inside a truck matching the one that hunt had been in. Officers say theyre certain its him. Police arent saying if they know what the motive is, but a post on hunts Facebook Page says he was hurt by events that led to today and goes on to say, dont play a game with ones heart. Virginias former governor and first lady will not get a new trial in the corruption scandal. Bob and Maureen Mcdonnell were convicted back in september. The couple had asked for a new trial. The cyber attack on Sony Pictures has led to a warning from the fbi to other businesses across the country. Its a fivepage warning that went out this evening. It includes details about the software used to hack sony. Nbc news has learned that Law Enforcement agencies are investigating whether north korea carried out that hack attack in response to an upcoming movie called the interview. The plot of that movie involves an assassination attempt on north koreas leader. Employees are under investigation for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in gift cards. The probe began after a manager found a razor blade and 200 pieces of open mail. A federal search warrant obtained by the news team, said that one employee admitted stealing 200,000 worth of cards. Weve learned that a Massive Development project could shut down one of the most traveled stretches of road in our area. Sources tell news 4 that developers of the Capital Crossing project want to shut down the third street tunnel, so that construction could move faster. Crews need to build a framework around the tunnel to support New Buildings that will go over it. Some people, though, say things are just fine the way they i th crowded, and it wouldnt look very pretty. Because it would be like very congested. The Capital Crossing project is expected to take years to complete. It is not known just how long that tunnel would be closed. Sources close to the project say d. C. s department of transportation is not happy with the idea, because the third street tunnel is part of the Evacuation Route out of the city. In less than an hour, d. C. Police will start issues more tickets for traffic violations caught on camera.
