This trooper sustained. It appears to us that this trooper was helping a vehicle on the side of the road when somehow he was rathearended or hurt by another vehicle on the roadway but again you can see here whats going on with this investigation. Maryland state troopers have it shut down here. If you try to get on to the outer loop of the beltway from 450, youre going to be directed around that ramp. They have it closed down to keep traffic from coming here. If you take a look behind us, you can see that the beltway on the outer loop around 450 is completely shut down and could be like this for some time. We have more breaking news, this one involving metro. A blue line train got stuck in a tunnel underneath the potomac river. The train was near the rosslyn station. All people on board are now safe and theyre on their way. There have been no injuries reported. Metro says theres a mechanical issue that its been dealing with the train. The train has now been moved. Transportation reporter adam tuss will have an update in a few minutes. First at 4, a man with alzheimers vanished during a pick income at a park in Prince Georges County years ago and it was nearly a month before police found his body. Now his family is suing his assisted living facility for negligence and wrongful death. News4s Kristin Wright has details. Reporter today for mr. Fitss family announced a lawsuit at his office. They want the assisted living home where he lived to be held responsible for his death. Mr. Fingerprints was living at woodmore house assisted living. They took him and other residents out on a trip to watkins park. Phipps asked to go to the bathroom and wandered off. His body was found in the park three weeks later. Phipps family is suing woodmore and we care adult services. I try to think about the positive things about him. Hes a very important person to me and my siblings, and i hope that no other family have to endure the pain and suffering that we have endured. A prosecutor in west palm beach, florida, today announced there was not enough evidence to convict Trumps Campaign manager. Investigators have identified the body that was found georgetown. His name was osbaldo bernal, a 51yearold man from arlington. Two sppeople spotted the body. Yeah, a train stuck inside a tunnel near the rosslyn station has now been pulled out and so are the passengers who were inside. Transportation reporter adam tuss is live now with the update. Adam, what happened today . Reporter this all happened around 3 00 this afternoon, pat. From what were told it was one of metros brand new trains, a 7000 series rail car that all of a sudden just lost power inside a tunnel. It got stuck, and then thats when all of this started. Take a look at the rosslyn station. Pretty much business as normal right now as the system gets back up and running, but earlier it was a much different situation. When that train lost power, they tried to actually push it with another train here to the rosslyn station. That didnt work, and then what they had to do was bring in another train and connect it to train and passengers then had to walk through all the rail cars. We actually have some video to show you of what was going on when those passengers were walking through those rail cars making their way in between the actual rail cars to the front. They were able to do that and then get all the way to the platform at the rosslyn station. Even though the train was stuck in a tunnel about 100 feet away from the platform, the passengers were able to walk through every rail car and then get off the train here at the rosslyn station. Still, some say they were stuck for about an hour and 15 minutes underneath the tunnel here inside the train. We talked to a couple of passengers about what it was like. Well, i was on the train and it completely shut down. We knew we were close to rosslyn and the car started to shake. The power went out and it really warm and it was a while before anyone came on to tell us what was going on. The car would start up and shake and wed go a couple inches and then shut down. And finally someone came on and said weve lost power. Theres no power. They were talking to each other. Were working on it. We should be going momentarily. Well, an hour of that. Reporter so, again, metro says that they have been able to get that disabled train out of here. The delays are continuing a little bit here and theyre going to take a little bit to shake out and, of course, this is probably the worst night for all of this to happen as we have the nats at home and the caps home playoff game tonight. A driver slammed into the car of a state trooper who had pulled onto the shoulder because the trooper was investigating another car crash.
