Hospital very rattled by the incident this afternoon. They were told by police to stay inside their homes until that possible suspect was taken into custody. Now, when Police Responded to the 911 call this afternoon, they found a man shot to death in the backyard of the home. Then once they entered the home, they found the female victim. She, too, had been shot. She was transported to the hospital where she is in critical condition. The s. W. A. T. Team moved in, the Armored Vehicle moved in, many first responders. The s. W. A. T. Team went inside that house, but there was no violent confrontation at that time. We are told that the alleged suspect surrendered peacefully. One of the most frightening things about this, there were children inside that house, several children. They fortunately, though, are all safe. We t spokeswoman. She says it appears the two victims and the alleged shooter were known to each other. Its not known the exact relationship between the three. Reporter this section of roadway has gotten so dangerous that Montgomery County police are on the scene telling students from Clarksburg High School who have come to visit the memorial by the side of the road to be careful while visiting the place where their three classmates died. The downhill on burnt hill road through sharp curves. The truck didnt hold the last turn, left the road, hit trees, smashing head on into one of them. Police say 17yearold jacob dennis was driving his 1989 ford truck. There are no indications of alcohol on the scene. We have a young inexperienced driver driving too fast and lost control. Three kids are now dead. Reporter the driver and one passenger 18yearold patrick died on the scene. The second passenger 17yearold carey green was transported to the hospital where he died. All three were juniors at Clarksburg High School. Today the school was closed. Its devastating news. Hill middle school when these young men were in middle school, so ive known them since they were 11 years old. Its very difficult. We, as a community, we band together. Meanwhile donald trump is trying to raise money as he looks forward to a general election battle with hillary clnton. The republican will be in richmond, virginia, on friday for a vip reception and fundraiser. That comes as trump tries to convince republicans that he can stay away from controversy. Last night in a noticeably muted speech, trump said he would make people proud of the party. Next week he is expected to give a speech outlining his case against hillary clinton. Were following a developing story in culpeper where a community is in shock. The sheriff says a man beat his wife, killed his neighbor, and might have kept on going if a deputys bullet hadnt stopped him. Reporter the house just over my shoulder, this is where the sheriff says it all started just before 9 00a having some sort of domestic dispu dispute. The husband grabbed a shotgun and chased his wife out of the home. She was running toward the neighbors house. The house fired a shot. She gets into a neighbors house. They keep her safe. They lock the door. That is until her estranged husband followed her up to that home, opening fire just to get through that door. Once he got through, it turned deadly. The subject found the estranged wife in the home and began to violently assault her. Reporter just as deputies pulled up, the suspect came out onto the deck Still Holding that shotgun. An exchange between the deputies and the subject pursued and then another gunshot, killing the suspect. In culpeper, virginia, im david culver. Woodbridge last weekend. He got into an argument with mason and then shot and killed him. The two men were roommates. Police picked up the shooter in new york. What led to this stnge crraas for the first time, were seeing the video that shows a Prince Georges County man blinking, the only way he could identify the shooter who left him paralyzed and unable to speak. His name is melvin pate. He died two years after this video was taken. But before he died, pate identified the man who shot him. Yesterday a jury found Jermaine Hales guilty of murder. Hes going to be sentenced in august. He is facing life in prison plus 20 years. The victims mother talks about her long road to justice. Montgomery county schools will be reviewing its policies covering the conduct of students at prom and other School Activitie activities. The action comes after six students were Graduation Ceremony only to have that action reversed. The students were accused of being drunk at program. The principal followed through to ban anybody that did that, but the superintendent reversed that decision and today the students turned their tassels at constitution hall. Right now, wild crash in maryland. A jeep smashed into the living room of a first floor apartment. Pat collins joins us on west diamond avenue. Reporter it was something to see. A florida couple is lucky to be alive after Tropical Storm colin hit and began sinking their 40foot sailboat while they were still aboard. The couples boat hit a sandbar. They planned to sleep through the night and leave at high tide. Around 3 00 in the morning, they got a rude awakening when the boat began to tip. The couple eventually had to be rescued by the coast guard. Theyre just happy to have survived. The wind was so strong. It wasnt let us go. We headed this direction. Thats when we got stuck. The owners say theyre pretty handy. Rather than call a salvage company, theyre going to try to pump the boat out themselves, fix it, and get back to sailing. I love that cando attitude. We dont have to call the company. We can do it ourselves. I dont know exactly if i would do that. They did not see the forecast out there. If they were in a boat and a Tropical Storm is moving on in, even here in this area yesterday, boating one of the biggest possibilities for fatalities on the water, especially out toward the chesapeake bay. What needs to be on the checklist as a parent as i prepare my kid to head off to summer camp . Get everything they need done before they g be sure theyre up to date every ten years. Do my kids particularly if theyre going off to a sports camp, do they need to see their physician before they head off to camp . If so, what do i need to let my doctor know of . The main thing we worry about kids with sports camp is if theyre going to get a concussion. Have them get a concussion test as a baseline before they head off to camp. Get that test done so you can understand how quickly their brain moves. That is even if my child has never had a concussion. You want something done beforehand. Particularly for football, soccer, and think about diving. What about our kids that may be need an inhaler allergies and an epipen . Those all need to go. The epinephrine, make sure you know who has got it and dont let it cook. Dont just stick it in the backpack and the lunch bag. For asthma, those are rescue inhalers that should go. Give it to the counsellors. An adult will be there to tell you if your child is using a rescue medication every day. Then you can get back to the doctor and get them on a better one. Its knowing where a back up plan is, if need be. What about what happens when the kids come home and the vacation is over for the parents and theyre coming home with more than the arts and crafts . What happens when they come home with the bad stuff . Sometimes theyll bring home things like lice get out that finetooth comb. Treat it right away. The next one would be poison ivy. Thats so common. Look through their skin. If they have the rash, dont worry about it. Theyre not contagious, but the clothes are contagious. Lastly would be athletes foot. The problem with that one is it is so hard to fix. Once you have that dry, cracked itchy foot, make sure youre not sharing the nail clippers amongst the family. Then my version is throw out the flipflops and sneakers. It is the easiest way to get rid of it. If you try the creams and powders over the counter and they dont work, get a Prescription Medication that is taken orally. There are probably lines camps. You need to be prepared for this. Exactly.
