Reporter on october 20th a vick imwas able to give police a description of the suspect who attacked her in the 5800 block of annapolis road in cheverly. This vicious series of assaults began on september 8th with a rape of a woman walking on a wooded trail in the 5100 block of quincy street in bladensburg. Heres why police think all four Sexual Assaults are related. The proximity of the Sexual Assaults that took place, the fact that most of all of the Sexual Assaults occurred between 6 45 p. M. And 8 45 p. M. And the physical descriptions that were given were similar in all of the cases. Reporter police say that diggs has a criminal record, that he lives alone and apparently has no family. It stretches across the country and it is linked by a popular app. Police believe prime suspect is just 14 years old, lives with his family in fairfax. Reporter wendy, we first learned about this case from this search warrant, which we pulled here from Fairfax County court. The details are disturbing, and the young suspect that you mentioned, hes in jail here tonight facing several serious charges. Police believe it started in this fairfax townhome community, one were not id iffying because all those involved from the young victims to the suspect are under age. But the allegations are far from childish. From this search warrant, we learned a detective in tempe, arizona, fist reached out to Fairfax County Police Investigating a 12yearold whos submitted nude images to a screen name called aaaproductions transferred through the kik social app. Aaaproductions claimed the chance to win 30,000 based on images of child pornography. You may know kik as the app some of your kids use. The company advertises it has more than 200 million subscribers. Just using screen names the app lets you share messages photo, and videos to others. A predator and kik is pond thats stocked with the fish. Reporter we spoke with Fairfax County Police Lieutenant james way bayh continue who works in the Child Exploitation unit. The kids say my parents are on facebook so we dont use facebook anymore. They use kik. Some of its users create the problems. In this most recent case Police Tracked aaaproductions to a fairfax home. The parents turned two of their childrens phones over the police. On the 14yearolds they found numerous images of child pornography recorded in Fairfax County according to the warrant. The suspect was allegedly sexually abiesing his younger brother and another unknown young male. The icy mix on the road that likely led to that crash along i95 in virginia chopper 4 flying over the scene this morning where a tractortrailer jackknifed near the exit for occoquan in Prince William county. Several other cars wound up spinning out on that ice but no injuries. And d. C. s department of public works says more than 2,700 cars were ticketed during yesterdays snow emergency. Each car receiving a there are 250 ticket. Another 235 cars impounded. Those owners are going to have to pay at least 370 bucks. Snow emergency was in effect until 9 30 this morning. Reporter the Takoma Park Middle School students are snow angels. They shovel sidewalks and driveways for those who cant, every winter. Some of them are really thankful. One of them was just making sure we did a hidden sidewalk behind their house. Reporter the citys Lifelong Program connects residents to the team of snow angels. Its kind of what we do. Reporter the home on boston avenue is this snow angels seventh today. They did the house across the street too. An outpouring of appreciation and blessings and praise. Reporter residents in takoma park signed up in advance for the snow angels service. But the city is looking for more volunteers. The volunteers are not just students so, theyre looking for anyone who is willing to help so that they can grow the service even further and help even more people. And a third young man from maryland is now charged in connection with that party Drug Overdose at wesleyan university. Abhimanyu janamanchi turned himself in to police today. Janamanchi is a wesleyan student from rockville. Four other students are charged in this case. It began when nearly a dozen people overdosed on the drug molly last month. A man listed online as the operator of a Child Care Center in virginia is now in jail because of sexually abusing children. Prince William County Police Arrested thomas ferrantino. Its not clear if the victims attended his Child Care Center. The case heads to a grand jury. Hes being held without bond. The owner of a popular maryland restaurant whos accused of secretly recording women in the bathroom is taking a longterm leave of absence. Kyle mulehauser is accused of putting a cam kra ra in the bathroom at rams head tavern last year. He was charged earlier this month.
