Storm. What were looking at here, youve got the storm here. This is where the hail is right here. Then you have the possible tornado moving through. This is Culpeper County. You can see the extreme eastern portions of culpeper. If you live along culpeper and Spotsylvania County border, thats where the tornado is right now. It is going to cross over route 3 in the next 20 minutes. This is where your hail core is. Then youve got the tornado. Everything to the east is just high cloudiness and rain. Thats what were seeing to the east around the i95 area. Lets see what youve got here. Culpeper county, fauquier, spotsylvania, Stafford County until 5 45 for that Tornado Warning. This is going to continue on down to the south and east. How fast is that moving . Make sure were reading those guys. This is moving at about 35 Miles Per Hour. Chancellor at 5 15 and bellevue at 5 25. I dont think this is going to be that close to fredericksburg. Heres the possible tornado right here. This is going to move straight down to the south and east hopefully missing fredericksburg. Thats something were going to be watching too, but we have seen already numerous Tornado Warnings with these lines of storms. We saw one with this storm. We saw three or four with this storm. Now we have one down around fredericksburg. Severe thunderstorm warning for Jefferson County, Loudoun County. These until 5 30. Leesburg, just south and west, Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Heres harpers ferry. Were going to show you that storm in the next c minutes. Another storm forming just south of martinsburg. Down to the south, this is the one weve been watching. Severe thunderstorm warning, but now a Tornado Warning. I cannot stress this enough. If youre in Spotsylvania County, get in an interior room. Get away from the windows. Make sure the kids are inside. Even if youre not hearing the storm just yet, this is a strong storm, a tornadic storm. No tornado reported just yet. This is most likely Doppler Radar indicated. It is a classic tornado shot possible with this storm. A tornadic supercell moving on through here. This is just the start of things to come here. Notice back to the west what weve got. Now were starting to see these individual storms become a line of storms. That line of storms is going to move very fast. Just about every county ahead of this line now has a Severe Thunderstorm Warning or a tornado the Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are in the yellow. Tornado warnings are in the red. Im going to show you how far away this is. This storm is going to be with us lets go ahead and time it out here. I want to time this out as it moves down to the south and east. About 150 miles. Im going to change this around. I want to see exactly how long thats going to take. Were talking about 9 00, 10 00 tonight. Thats what i think is going to be happening here. Lets take a look at the eta as we move this at about 40 Miles Per Hour. Eck this out. This is where this storm is now. It is going to move our way in about three and a half to four hours. Were talking right around the 9 00 hour. I want to read you the warning from the National Weather service on the storm in and county, the city of fredericksburg, culpeper, spotsylvan spotsylvania, and Fauquier County until 5 45. This storm will have the potential for a tornado and hail. If youre in the direct path of this tornado, this is directly from the National Weather service. Make sure you get inside. Those caught without shelter. Damage to roofs and siding. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near fredericksburg around 5 20 in about 15 minutes. I do think it will go to the west of that. Say that one more time for me, april. Yeah, we do have some pictures of these storms as a matter of fact. There it is right there. Theres exit 16 on 81. That is the tornado that was making its the martinsburg area. This one, caught the tornado warned supercell while flying into dulles. Look at that storm. You can really tell the top of that storm. Blue skies above it, but that storm is a supercell thunderstorm for sure making its way on down towards the region. Thats what we continue to watch. The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for that area, the Tornado Warning both go until 5 45. It was 5 45 making its way down towards fredericksburg. I still think this will move east of fredericksburg. Fredericksburg, youre getting the rain now. Youre getting the lightning now. Youre getting the thunder now. But the tornado portion of the storm is back to the west. I think this will move down to your south and west. Please make sure you take precautions on this because this is something were going to be watching for the rest of the night tonight. Watch out for the hail. Watch out for the wind. This storms back to the west, a line developed. This will most likely actually start to increase in speed. Right now it is moving at about 35, 40 Miles Per Hour. It will start to pick up at about 50 Miles Per Hour over the next couple of hours. Thats why our entire region is in that severe thunderstorm watch until 10 00 tonight. Theres the storm. Now im looking at a really good hook echo right here. Lets zoom in a little bit closer. Just southwest of hartwood. Not a lot of population in this area. As we go on toward the south and east, this is Culpeper County right here. This is Spotsylvania County. This is right along the river too as it moves on down. The stronger storms still back to the west. Im going to go to lauren ck rickets for just a minute. Continue to zoom on in and show us that radar. We continue to see this storm. Were really watching this storm just around fredericksburg. Weve been doing wtop radio. Anyone from exit 126 to 133, thats where were seeing the heaviest rain and just right along route 17. We have that Tornado Warning until 5 45. These storms will continue to the move to the east at 25 miles an hour. We have a Flash Flood Watch pretty much for everybody. That goes until tomorrow morning. We have not only this cluster of storms around fredericksburg and leesburg. Look at that. Route 7, route 9 really been getting pounded. If your traves this area of route 7 towards leesburg, leave yourself extra time. Wait until these storms travel through. Dont wait until too long because we have a lot of storms and a lot of rain back off to the north and west. Look at all that coming through morgantown and up through western pennsylvania. Now these warnings, we have some Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in that area. This line is going to continue to travel through our region. Its going to be a pretty active weather night as we continue into the evening and even into the overnight. Once that sun goes down at about 8 30, well lose some of this instability. A lot of humidity. That is going to continue to move into our area and really drop some of that heavy rain. Lets go to our fredericksburg Traffic Camera right now. Is that yeah, that is i95. Were watching for some heavy rain. I mean going to let doug take that over right now. That is the very heavy rain were talking about. Is this north or south of fredericksburg . Do we know . Most likely north of fredericksburg. Lets go back to the radar. Ill show you where that camera is located just to the north of the fredericksburg region right there. That is where the heavy rain is with this storm. It is going to be right around the city of fredericksburg. That is where extremely heavy rain is falling right now. The hail is going to be a big potential. Let me put on the thats right at the river bridge. You can see that camera was right in this area here. Right in this area here is where the camera is just to the north of the city of fredericksburg. The tornado is right on in here if there is in fact a tornado. Thats the one that were hail with this storm. Most likely just to the north, thats the hail core. Youll notice it is just to the north of the possible tornado. Thats what happens with these thunderstorms. You get the thunderstorm down to the south and the hail to the north. The tornado down to the south and the hail to the north. Thats something that well continue to watch there. Theres your hail core right there. Another version we can show you. This is called vertically ingrate einin integrated liquid. Theres not a whole lot of cities and towns here. But if youre in this area, please be careful. Not a whole lot of lightning with this one. Were going to continue to watch it as it moves on down to the south and east. Right towards the river it is going to cross over route 3. Theres cookstown, i think youre going to be okay. On this track, this storm heres the tornado. Notice the curvature here right in there. That notch is going to move right on down towards chancellor within the next 15 to 20 minutes. I want to time this out for you and see exactly when this storm is going to come through the chancellor region. You can see it moving down to the south and east at about 35 miles an hour. If you live in and around chancellor in Spotsylvania County, please get inside your house. Make sure youre away from windows, but also make sure youre in an interior room of the house. Im talking about the one with the most walls between you and the outside. That would be a closet. That would be a bathroom. That would be one of those areas i would recommend getting in right now becausehi classic hook echo. This is the ball on the southwestern of this storm. Any time you see a ball here that could be debris that were looking at. Very heavy rain along the i95 corridor. Now the storms to the north, notice they have now discontinued the Severe Thunderstorm Warning for loudoun count count county. No longer a warning around leesburg. Another storm thats going to move right towards martinsburg. Lets zoom into the leesburg region right along 15 and route 7 out of the ashburn area over towards leesburg. Very heavy rain associated with this storm. It is this storm down to the south that does have the possible tornado. A Tornado Warning until 5 30 tonight. Really getting that hook now. This is the latest image. Really getting that hook. Zoom on into the city of fredericksburg . Extremely heavy rain associated with that. There it is right there. Look at that rain and just the nasty, nasty version here. Most of us are looking around and most of us have sunshine right now. We continue to watch this. We have seen an 1 1 2 of rain from this storm around western Stafford County. 1 inch up towards the petersburg and martinsburg area. 1. 25 inches of rain in allegheny county. Lets go back to max two and show you once again where that is. City of fredericksburg, were just seeing the heavy rain here. This is the heavy rain. Thats all youre going to be seeing. Youll see wind too. The potential for hail is there, but the tornado is back towards the west and thats what well continue to wat ch ias move on back towards it. The tornado back to the west of the city of fredericksburg. I want to zoom in again because the only city that here is around chancellor. Chancellor please be careful. Please get indoors. Please be sure you dont have any windows open in your house. That tornado going into 5 30 tonight. It is now 5 15. Ill work on that time clock for you. That is going to cross over route 3 at any minute. Explain to us whats coming in with that next round as we move on through the rest of the night here. Lets go to max one guys. We were watching this upper level low kind of scooting out the great lakes area. Yeah, weve got a lot more rain to get through. You can see this right here. That is going to continue to travel to the southeast. Now let me go ahead real quick and kind of zoom in on this so you can see what im looking at here because i was kind of looking at everything on the other side of it. Thats not going to move. You can see the rotation up here. Its an upper it is continuing to move to the southeast. But right around here in western West Virginia, this storm is really popping off some Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. That is only going to continue to push to the east into our region. Were in for an active weather night. Were going to continue to see some some with this next line of storms that will push into our region. Were watching that and weve got a few out in front of it. Thats what weve been seeing rit now. Thats what well continue to see. Let me move this back around because i want to show you the latest warnings. Were going to be watching that for later on tonight. We do have that Flash Flood Watch for later on tonight. Starts at 5 00. It is in effect right now. Goes out at 6 00 a. M. Tomorrow morning. We could get 1 to 4 inches in some spots of rain accumulation. Now the 4 inches will be the heavier rain, but that will be in some of these cells that have already dropped a lot of rain. Over an inch of rain in portions 1. 5 inches in allegheny to 2 inches along i70. Around martinsburg, an inch so far. Maryland saw a half an inch to an inch of rain. We continue to watch these, but a lot of the warnings have been taken away except for down here in fredericksburg where we still have that Tornado Warning. That goes until 5 45. Chancellorville, if youre in that line of fire, go ahead and come inside. Lightning associated with that one. These arent severe, but just dropping lots of heavy rain into the region. Even coming in through leesburg. That Severe Thunderstorm Warning has now been cancelled, but a lot of these are really heavy and bringing lots of lightning. Lightning can struck up to 20 miles away. Head in inside in youre around winchester and barryville through bluemont. A lot of people driving on route 7 without their headlights on. If youre watching us right now, might want to go ahead and stay put. Were watching that heavy rain continuing to fall across portions of the area along 340, route 9. If youre along the dulles toll road and anywhere along herndon up towards leesburg, youre getting ready to head into some heavy rain. If youre sitting along the dulles toll road and the greenway, youll be headed into some rain. Again, these arent severe at this time, but they were severe at one point. They brought lots of lightning and a lot of rain into our region. Doug, you ready to go ahead . One of the big areas and one of the big things we continue to make sure that were watching is obviously that storm down towards see the sunshine in the d. C. Metro area. Some of the storms are starting to fall apart here. You can notice the storm in the leesburg area starting to fall apart. The one that came through martinsburg, the confirmed tornado, that has moved past. This one increasing in intensity. Lets show you this storm as it moves on to the south and east. This one is going to be one were watching very closely. Im looking at a potential rotation in this guy too. Lets just put it on there and see if we do have that rotation. Not showing rotation, but this is an interesting feature with this storm system right now as it moves on down to the south and east. Im looking at that little nodule. As we move on through the rest of the evening, the other thing that were watching here in storm team 4 back to the west. You see the storms down to the south and east. Were watching these in winchester along i85 and this storm around fredericksburg with that Tornado Warning down toward Spotsylvania County. Spotsylvania county the only county in the Tornado Warning until 5 45. If youre in chancellor, get inside your house. Heads up in this region. This is where the tornado would be. See this little knot, thats where the tornado is, most likely in this region right there. Make sure youre inside and an interior room. I mentioned a closet earlier. Thats a great place to be. Closet or a bathroom. Look how big this line is. Matt, take a look at these warnings back towards and garrett county. I want to see how big the winds are with this with this warning. This one moving down quickly at about 35 to 45 Miles Per Hour. These storms are all ahead of it in the very warm air. Once this comes into towards our region with its very warm and humid air, thats where we see the line of storms come through. Were going to see the severe wind threat come up as a result. Those winds could easily be g t gusting upwards of 50, 60 miles an hour. Morgantown, Severe Thunderstorm Warning. These are 60 mile an hour thunderstorms. I would not be surprised if they picked up. Good news here. Very good news. No, i thought this was taken away. It is still here fredericksburg area. Not quite taken away just yet. This will also update. This will come close to spotsylvania. Fredericksburg extremely heavy rain. Watch out for flash flooding in this area. Watch out for flash flooding around the city of frederick. Heres the route 3 and i95 interchange right here. Heads up that way. That is carl silver parkway. Thats route 3. Over towards fredericksburg, were seeing the extremely heavy rain. Heres the latest update to show you where the latest storms are. Now seeing a little less rotation. Let me put rotation back on here for you. Well see if were seeing a little bit less rotation with this. Still has the rotation there. Again this is something that were going to continue to watch right on in through this area as we move on through the next half an hour or so. As i track this now, i think it will move just east if i tornado would be in this storm, around smiths mill at about 5 36. Thats something well continue to watc
