Three people were told they were negative for that virus, but in fact, they had it. That was the conclusion from a review of flawed tests conducted in d. C. Last summer. News4s Mark Segraves broke the story on twitter and found out more than two dozen other patients had test results that came back inconclusive. Reporter it was early february when the director of the d. C. Department of Forensic Sciences alerted the public that her lab had begun reviewing hundreds of zika test results, because those results were flawed. Today dr. Jennifer smith told news4, the final results from the retesting are now in and all of the problems at the lab have been corrected. Any time there is an issue, we mitigate it by putting in corrective actions. Reporter of the 423 tests found to be negative, three were actually positive. 26 came back as inconclusive and 394 were, in fact, as for the three who were positive a pregnant woman, a nonpregnant woman, and a male. Reporter and the 26 patients whose final results were inconclusive, dr. Smith said its possible they were exposed to zika or another virus like the dengue fever. They will be followed as if they were zika positive. In other words, they will be given the same medical advice or directions. Reporter all 423 patients who had test results called into question have been notified of their results, particularly those people who tested positive or inconclusive. Law enforcement officers from all over the country are in washington, in our area today to gather to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. They we sadly, this year five more names were added to the list of local officers and deputies whose duty has led to their deaths. They include Rookie Police officer ashley guindon, who was killed by a gunman the day after she took the oath. Now police tell us mark yantsos once again had sex with a minor. Its the same minor he was ordered to stay away from after he was arrested in april. He is the head of security here at the high school. He was also a Girls Basketball coach a few years ago. We have Court Records that say that a girl mr. Yantsos is accused of having sex with, told police that the two had been in contact. These records that we have say that then the 17yearold girl said it was true. Sources with knowledge of the case say mark yantsos is in the hospital undergoing a mental evaluation. Police rearrested the School Security officer friday. Hes accused of having sex with a 17yearold student again. Yantsos is the head of security at richard Montgomery High School in rockville. A lot of students know him. This guy was entrusted with our security and he was head of security, and to think that hes capable of doing Something Like that is really horrific. A lot of people are just kinda disgusted, like why . Reporter we tracked down Court Documents that say after yantsos posted bond and got out of jail for the initial accusations of child sex abuse, he did it again, same girl. The documents say the victim told yantsoss home four times in five days and they had sex during a fifth meeting. Court records say he gave the girl a hundred dollars that day. One condition of his bond, to stay away from her. Parents are stunned. I strongly believe in the presumption of innocence before one is adjut kated, but i find this mans judgment to be questionable, at best. Reporter yantsos is still on unpaid leave. The principal sent a letter home. It says in part, the allegations are despicable and represent an irreparable breach of trust, ethics and the law. We do not and will not tolerate this behavior in our schools. Hes the head of security, so everyone expects him to be trustworthy and everyone relies on him to be safe. Reporter i spoke to yantsoss attorney on the phone earlier today and he declined to comment. Now, doreen,om here at Richard Montgomery say they will fight to maintain the reputation of their school. He says he did it to improve safety. Transportation reporter adam tuss has this wild story thats generating lots of buzz on social media. It is not always easy to get across the trail where it meets sterling boulevard. The intersection is busy and potentially dangerous. Youd think safety would be the top priority. So why did a local man makes huge yellow signs and then put them up, telling drivers not to stop for pedestrians or bicyclists here. Didnt just grab a couple pieces of plywood and throw up some signs. Hes an ally of pedestrians and cyclists. He said he recently witnessed a near collision and just wants all the cars to pass before cyclists can then go. The message says, please do not stop for pedestrians or bicyclists, thank you. Where is there any confusion in that . Reporter but cyclists who came through over the weekend and saw the signs say his attempt was misguided. Governor Terry Mcauliffe signed that bill today that requires the states driver education curriculum to include Proper Police procedures when youre pulled over, and as a driver, what to do with your hands, when to get your documents. The new legislation does not say when that information will be put into drivers ed manuals.
