Im doug kammerer. After a Beautiful Day today, it was quite nice this afternoon with plenty of sunshine. A high that made it to 50 degrees in the d. C. Metro area. Some locations a little warmer. Others a little colder. 42 is the current number. That puts our windchill at 36 degrees. Its a little chilly now. 34 in gaithersburg. So its a nice evening. It will continue to be through the next few hours. Looking at mostly clear skies. 40 degrees around 8 00. 35 by 11 00. Going inside the metro area, 29 by 5 00 a. M. To 30 degrees by 7 00. Increasing clouds through this time. Our storm is coming. Its going to move in during the day tomorrow. Heres tomorrow, thursday, at 6 00 in the evening. Notice were just dealing with clouds. But as we make our way through the nighttime hours, here comes the rain and the snow. It will be all rain around the i95 corridor and for most of us. Including winchester and front royal, it could be a pretty good snow event. At least a couple inches back here before it it does try to change over to rain. I think it will. Any snow that develops will change over to rain. Anything that falls will quickly melt in the rain. For the rest of us, its all rain. I think we could see a slow rush hour. By 5 00 in the afternoon as we start our next rush hour, still seeing some rain. We could see rush hour thats a little slower than average on friday afternoon too. So were going to watch this scenario play out very closely over the next couple days. A high of 43 on thursday. Nicer on sunday. Saturday, however, looking pretty cold. Thanks, doug. So you know, these wizards of ours, this is going to be a team thats fun to watch. Youre right. They play a lot better at home. They win more at home. When they are healthy, they can beat some teams every now and then. The owner said he wanted to see his team play. 500 basketball the rest of the season. The knicks in town tonight. Jason pew where the wizards were hoping to see bradley biel back in the line up. What can you tell us . Reporter biel has been out the last four games with that wrist injury. We were expect iing to see him the floor for a personal shoot around but he did not come out and have that shoot around. So it its still no word if hes going to play. Its looking unlikely as of right now. But as you said, the knicks and wizards should be a great game. The last time they met up, new york blew the wiz out. They are not expecting the same result tonight. Were a different team. We played shortly thereafter and both teams were different. They didnt have stoudemire. Jason kidd was out. So both teams are sure looking at both ways that probably a little bit different teams than we were back in november. Its not easy winning on the road. I dont care who is playing or who is not playing. You got to play perfect basketball. You cant do the things at home when youre playing in front of your fans and expect to get away with it on the road. It doesnt work like that. To me every road game is tough. If youre not committed pe wont work out of here with a win tonight. They have a good momentum. They play really good together. And we need to bring it. Reporter now even before the injuries, the wizards have played well against the top teams in the nba. They e defeated the miami heat and Oklahoma City here at the verizon center. The knicks are second best in the conference. Im expecting a great game from the wiz. I like that. Amazing they have beaten those two teams. That was without john wall. Thank you very much. Its kind of a strange coincidence. The other team, the capitals, starting their season like the wizards did. The caps now 271 after losing to the maple leaves last night. They now find themselves in sole possession of last place. The game against the leaves providing an excellent example of whats wrong with this it team right now. An inexcusable miscommunication between pody and the goalie. I got the puck, you got the puck, instead the leaves get the puck. Isnt that terrible . That cant happen. These are professional athletes for the capitals. Patience is wearing thin as the mistakes continue to mount. Ive never experienced a start to a season like this before. Its very frustrating to me. Im always asking why. But i think we all like what were doing o out there. If you ask a lot of teams, its not super easy to play against us, but every game we have one or two human error goals shs not ones we should let in or allow them to have a chance. Every time we do, it seems to be killing us. Im very frustrated. Its tough. Its a tough situation. We gave them the first one. Thats really the issue. Thats our fault. We werent getting outplayed. To me, theres a difference. They scored two goals, but we werent getting outplayed. We have to fight through it. Thats why hockey is a tough sport. The margin for error is so slim. At verizon center, how long do we give him . This is a brand new coach. They havent had a chance to learn his system. I think they are going to have to figure it out quickly if they want to succeed. Two years ago or three, we were the best in the league. Now were the worst. Thats quite a shock to the system. I dont think its going to last. People were expecting a lot better so far. National signing day and maryland hit a home run. They beat out ohio state for speedy tai von jacobs and two other players who were undecided going into National Sign iing d. This recruiting class will be different than any other in terps history because they will be playing most in the big ten. Jacobs becomes the wide receiver to pick the terps over ohio state. Maryland fans would love if he works out as well as digs. Jacobs is smaller but has similar abilities. How about Friendship Collegiate High School . 20 players signing scholarship papers including four future terps. Three of them line backers. The stand yoult . An all american who was d. C. s player of the year. To be able to get out there financial wise, maryland has a Great Program so i picked the terps. A couple teammates going that way. We played with each, so we know how each one of us played. Were going to just keep raising the bar and get a championship back home. Not only do we evaluate young men, but programs in terms of where the kids come from. Thats a program where they work. Thats a tremendous cue for us to get four of those kids. Four of those guys are rated in the top seven players in d. C. Marylands recruiting class ranked 31st in the nation. Alabama, of course, number one. How about ole miss . Signing the number one player in the country. Virginia tech ranked 22nd. Virginia, 27th. Now for some news of the weird before we let you go. Alex collins from Fort Lauderdale was supposed to sign with arkansas but couldnt because his mother ran off with the documents. You see she didnt want her son to leave home. He she preferred he stay in miami. If youre 17 you need mom or dad to sign the paperwork. If youre 18, you dont. Mom still stole the papers and took off. 18 or 28 or 58, shes still your mother. This aint over one more check on the weather forecast. Get the umbrellas ready and cancel the trip to boston. If thats where youre going. Temperatu temperatures the next couple days will be a little cooler than today. Temperatures around 43 with plenty of clouds. Friday, 47. Rain becoming likely through the day. Some areas could pick up an inch of rain. Saturday and sunday, we will clear out. But saturday is going to be one cold day. A high of 40. Windchills in the upper 20s to around 30 all day long. Sunday looking like the best day out of the next seven. Really the only nice day out of the next seven. So at least it comes on the weekend. Cant be mad about that. Theres a woman in fort hood, texas, who has a simple way of cheering up our men and women. She doesnt knit things or give them things to eat. Shes 81 years old. What she does, she hugs them.
