In rural madison county, virginia, they brought out the k9s, scouring large plots of land, looking for Hannah Graham. Late today, we heard a renewed plea from Charlottesville Police chief tim longo. This is a complicated investigation. First and foremost, because we dont know where Hannah Graham is. And we have to find her. The other reason is, were still in the process of gathering evidence. Well see what the rookie ba shard breeland can do in place of him tonight. The guys just arrived to the stadium a while ago. Want to show you that video. This is kirk cousins making his sixth career start for the redskins. 400 yards last week, 3 touchdowns. Well see what type of success he can have against the giants. And pierre garcon. As dianna mentioned, injury a big part of this team, a big storyline tonight. But these guys arent making any excuses when it comes to injuries. Its tough, you know. But we knew this was on our schedule for a long time. Ive got to prepare for it, and sometimes football is about playing when youre not quite 100 . Guys are going to have to backel up, strap it up, because giants are in the same boat we are. Were both 12 and its a very important game for both of us in the nfc east. And so somebody has got to strap up. A lot of guys will fight through it and play hard. Reporter its going to be really interesting to see how kirk cousins performs. We saw him against the eagles that first half where he was really fantastic. So well see if he will be able to string together two great games and maybe get a win. Yeah. This team needs a win. Sports illustrated released a poll in which fans do not find the team name offensive and only 25 support changing the name. 500 people took part in this particular poll and falls in line with owner dan snyder who has promised to never change the teams name. Weather matters always. Especially here in this town tonight. Weve got our Football Team down there in fedexfield. Also got the nats down in nats stadium. Doug, what kind of weather are they playing . Ill tell you what. These fields not too far away from each other. You can actually see them off in the distance right there. How about that shot . Looking pretty good across our region tonight. If youre going to the games, though, one thing to make sure you have, and its not the umbrella. Its going to be the jacket. Definitely on the cool side. Still have that breeze across our region. We also have areas of drizzle, and thats really all it is, just some very light drizzle through loudoun county, fairfax county, around the district here. Well zoom in. Also Montgomery County seeing some of that. Here is northwest d. C. , seeing some of that. Thats going to pass towards southeast, nats park. So heads up for that if you are heading down. But here are the forecasts for the redskins tonight as we take on the giants at 8 25. Temperatures i think will fall through the 60s quickly. So 65 degrees. A little bit of drizzle at 7 00. May linger a little. Butost of the game should stay dry. 62 by 11 00, though. So it is going to be quite chilly. And for the nationals tonight, i think were looking okay there, too. Once again, could see some areas of drizzle. Temperatures, though, will be on the cool side in both locations. So take that jacket, take that sweatshirt, whatever it is you need. Ill have the rest of the forecast, including that weekend. Wait until you see this. Coming up. Looking forward too it, doug. Calling it quits. Attorney general eric holder stepping down after six years on the job. And a search warrant has been unsealed in the case against Charles Severance. Its giving us some new details on how the police zeroed in on him as the suspect in three murders in alexandria. Youre watching news4 at 6 00. Tonight, attorney general eric holder has announced he is resigning as the attorney general. He was one of the president s first cabinet picks. His six years in office have had their share of controversy from the fast and furious gun program to the nsa surveillance scandal. Holder has also fought for civil rights and Voting Rights. In the months ahead, he will leave department of justice, but i will never i will never leave the work. I will continue to serve and try to find ways to make our nation even more true to its founding ideals. Nbc news justice correspondent Pete Williams with us now, following eric holder for a very long time. Pete, eric holder has had lots of ups, downs, throw it up against the wall, what sticks . What do you think . This is no surprise he decided not to serve out the full two terms in office. He was one of the president s original cabinet members. It was pretty clear he was going to leave before the midterm elections, so that no one can say he left after the mid terms because he didnt like the outcome of the elections and the possible change in senate control. So the only real question here was what day and what hour would he decide this . Now he did say hes going to stay until his successor is confirmed. Hes the fourth longest serving attorney general. If he stays well into december, which he probably will be, then hell become the thirdlongest serving. But as you say, i think at one point he might have been tempted to leave, especially when things were particularly difficult between him and congress over the irs investigation, the fast and furious botched gun tracing operation by atf. And he became sort of the favorite target for republican critics of this administration. But i think one thing that energized him and gave him a second win was the u. S. Supreme courts decision, in essence gutting the Voting Rights act that gave him a whole new mission to try to make sure the nations civil rights laws, whats remaining of them, are strictly in force. So hes going to stay until his successor is confirmed. But congress is so divided. Any idea when that might be, and who might that be . Well, the who well have to wait and see. There are lots of names already floating around. And i dont know how tempting this job will be f some, because youre only going to serve for two years, and youre going to go through a punishing confirmation. But it seems while im sure that republicans are already saying theyll give the nominee very close scrutiny, i cant believe that the senate will just completely stiff the administration and not confirm an attorney general at a time when were under increased terror threats and there are lots of very serious issues to work on. Its going to take a while before it irons outs. Yes, indeed. Thanks, pete. We appreciate it. My pleasure. You can see more reaction on holders resignation coming up on nbc nightly news with brian williams. That begins right after this broadcast. An american doctor who was infected during the Ebola Outbreak is finally home tonight. Rick sacra got out of the hospital today, and he received a huge round of applause as he left the nebraska medical center. Sacra contracted ebola in liberia while he was working at a hospital. Literally thousands of people here and around the nation, even around the world, have been praying for me. And those prayers have been answered. Though my crisis has reached a Successful End here, unfortunately, the ebola crisis continues to spin out of control. In fact, president obama talked about the Ebola Outbreak at the United Nations today. He promised to deploy up to 3,000 troops to liberia to help set up facilities and even form some training teams there. Playing football in the mud can be fun. Big fun. Baseball, not so much. Thats exactly right. This is a perfect night for football. And i think were going to be aokay. But the nationals that baseball field could be a little wet. But i think theyre going to be aokay. They already got through the worst of it earlier today with the 1 00 game. Yeah, i heard we lost that game. Actually, i was watching that game. The next game against the mets goes well tonight, i think well be aokay as most of the rain out of here. Currently, 69 degrees, winds at 10 miles per hour, and we continue to see clouds. 70 in frederick. 63 in gaithersburg. 65 in an appear police. It has been a very cool or rather breezy day and a little on the dreary side too with the clouds and showers. The drizzle, it sticks around and thats what happens with these kinds of systems. Northeasterly wind continues to give us that breeze off the ocean. So some drizzle around leesburg, in through loudoun county, Montgomery County, right on through the district here, parts through northwest and even around fairfax and fairfax county. Down to the south, we have watched this band move through Calvert County and st. Marys county, just out of the area. And most of us will stay on the drier side as we make our way the rest of the night. Could use the umbrella, but not that bad. The main storm system itself moving to new york and boston region. We are about done with this one. And then behind it, there is nothing, and thats some very good news. Were going to go for lots of clouds overnight and into early tomorrow morning. Tomorrow morning we could see some fog develop in some locations. And then well then the skies will part and here comes the sun. Sunshine tomorrow afternoon all day. I think tomorrow will be a fantastic friday. And then it gets even better as we head into the weekend. High temperatures tomorrow, back up into the 70s. 78 degrees in d. C. 79 in fredericksburg. Winchester at 77. Lorraine, 78 degrees. And right along the water toward the chesapeake, a little cooler there. 74, 75 degrees. But with plenty of sun pretty nice. So what to wear tomorrow morning for the kids at the bus stop, kind of cool in the morning. So maybe the jacket early. But i think by the afternoon, youll be able to wear the shorts. So im putting my son tomorrow in a sweatshirt and shorts. Thats all he wears is shorts these days. 81 degrees on saturday. 83 degrees on sunday. Plenty of sunshine out there, everybody has the shorts this weekend. That nice. 79 on monday. And look what happens all next week. The next seven days, were talking about temperatures into the 70s, upper 70s, around 80 degrees. We are well above average for the next seven days. How about that . After last two days, we have seen around our region. Next, is it extra support or segregation . New at 6 00, a local School District faces pressure on both sides about creating schools just for s
