Now to a gun battle in the middle of a day near a metro station and Police Station in d. C. Someone started shooting around lunchtime. Bullets hit the park police headquarters. Two lunchtime shooting incidents near the metro here. Around 11 50 this morning a bullet goes through the window of a u. S. Park Police Building in anacostia. There were cops working inside when it happened. Immediately they put out a warning to everybody in the office that potentially we had a shot fired at the building here, so all the officers here on the scene responded as if we had somebody shooting at the building. Reporter it appears the shot came from the nearby metro parking garage. Now they searched and searched and searched, but no shooter was found. Then a few minutes later a running gunfight between two young men on stanton road. One juvenile wounded. But it could have been far worse. Let me give you some idea of the scope of this scene. Down there is stanton road. We counted six shell casings there. Move further down and you can look a ten shell casings at that scene. As you come up the road, look on the seat of that motorcycle. Theres a gun. Theres a cell phone and a cell phone charger. Go a little further up and you can see a tennis shoe, a sneaker, that belongs to the victim. Though many of the homes around here are almost brand new, some of the people who live here say they dont feel safe. Its just getting bader and bader in d. C. They need to figure out a way to lower the crime. I dont like this violence. I cant wait to get out of this neighborhood. I cant wait to get out of d. C. That discovery led to a search for the boy who was attacked in very shallow water. Reporter a heartbreaking update from the Orange CountySheriffs Office this afternoon letting us know they found the body of missing 2yearold lane graves. He was found in murky water, not far away from where he was in its a tragic ending to what was supposed to be a family, funfilled vacation. Its the heartbreaking news the family waited all day to hear. At about 1 45 today, members of the Orange CountySheriffs Office dive team located what is believed to be the remains of the deceased, the 2yearold. Reporter for more than 15 hours, dive teams along with rescue crews searched the lake by boat and air. The frantic fathers call to 911, telling operators he was son was attacked while wading in a foot of water at the seven seas lagoon. Theres no question in my mind that the child was drowned by an alligator. Reporter the Graves Family was on vacation staying at the resort property. Overnight and into the day, teams searched the lake until around n was changed from a rescue to a recovery. He was within the immediate area where he was last sceeen. Reporter theyll continue to hunt for the alligator. Well get the certain alligator involved and remove it. Reporter crews pulled five gators from that pond earlier this afternoon. Investigators are going to check each of their dna to find out which gator pulled that child into the water. If it is not any of those gators, the Sheriffs Office and crews will continue looking until they find the right one. News4. Im pat lawson. Developing news here at desk. The wreckage from egyptair flight 804 has been found. All 66 people on board were killed. They were expected the planes black boxes to stop emitting their located signals on the 24th of this month. Thats just nine days from now. Right now officials are drawing maps of the area to help them recover the planes wreckage. Its still unclear what caused the plane to go down, but radar indicates it did a complete circle before disappearing. Fire and smoke alarms did go off inside that plane. Metro says it is ahead of schedule on its first safetrack surge. Around the clock single tracking between East Falls Church and boston will be ending thursday night. As of late monday, 96 of that planned work completed. A lot of areas. The second surge starts saturday. Its going to run for 16 days. It is recreating several city blocks literally out of thin air. Capitol crossing hit a new milestone today. As adam tuss shows us, it might also end up improving the commute. This is the first large tunnel in an urban area post 9 11. Reporter in other words, this whole thing is being built tough and strong. Add to the fact that city blocks in the heart of the district are being recreated and buildings will go on mass av now under construction. Traffic below continues to navigate the changing course of the tunnel itself. The construction down here at the capitol crossing project is really intense. These beams are actually being shipped in from North Carolina and South Carolina because they have to be made to a certain specifici specificity. All of this is happening as traffic goes by. About 60,000 cars in each direction coming through this project. Do you expect traffic flow to get better when this project is done . Actually, thats good point. Both on the street grid as well as on the highway. Reporter new improved entrances to 395 should help cars. A city street grid should help pedestrians and cyclists. There is still a speed camera in the tunnel itself. All this work is demanding the attention of people who live and work nearby. It is a feat of my daughter comes this way.
