And im lynn yang. This is at i270 at montrose. Were keeping our eyes on patches of ice. A patch of ice is believed to be the cause of this crash in chevy chase this morning. Choppers were over the scene after it happened. Two cars went off the road and into the snow there. One car almost seemed to have hit that tree. No word on any injuries. Lauryn, are we going to get enough of a warmup to melt the rest of the ice on that road . I do believe so, because temperatures will dtop out in te mid to upper 40s, above that freezing mark. Last night we slipped below it, so things refroze on the roadway. I think well have icy spots out there once again tonight and into tomorrow morning. Were getting a little sunshine here in northwest washington, a little bit. We need to go closer to virginia think well get it here eventually. A mix of sun and clouds out there today. Temperatures in the 40s right now. 34 seems to be the cold spot, everybody else in the upper 30s. Everybody was involved with that freezing mark. Clouds are starting to roll back in little by little. As i said, a mix of sun and clouds out there today. Cool as we go through the evening, but temperatures will drop, will fall below that freezing mark tonight, but then we warm back up. Weve got the 7day forecast coming up. All right, lauryn, thank you. Weve seen a pretty wild swing in the temperatures over the last several days. Drivers, we saw them do their best to avoid them, but you cant always do that, and the consequences could hit you in the wallet. There is a aaa study that shows american drivers are paying big in pothole repair. 3 billion annually. Can you imagine . Nearly 15 billion spent on fixing your car. The punctured tires, the bent wheels and the more expensive suspension damage that happens to you. Now, when i join you at 11 30, were going to talk to one d. C.
