You may find top notch brand names at outlets but do the items have the same quality. One expert says absolutely not many of us shop at outlet malls to buy name brand clothes and purses on a budget. But what if we told you what youre getting are knockoffs . Nbcs amy davis shows us how some retailers are lowering their standards to get your money. Now most of the clothing you find in outlets is made for the outlets. Usually not as good a quality. Reporter guess, ann taylor, coach, Banana Republic and countless other retailers most products sold in their Outlet Stores were never sold in their regular retail stores. Four lawmakers asked the federal trade commission to investigate pricing practices at Outlet Stores. Retailers make the cheaper outlet goods but attach high price tags before discounting them to make customers believe theyre getting a bargain. Tags on bags made for the coach outlet look like this with established 1941 printed under the logo. The high end bags will have this tag with new york under the logo. That was amy davis reporting. The bottom line if you like the less expensive outlet version buy it. Youre not getting a bargain. Youre more likely paying for the product what its worth. Great tips. Who would have known . Did not know that. Look at the label. Yeah. Right now u. S. Secretary of state john kerry is overseas hoping to help broker a deal on Irans Nuclear program. Well talk about the negotiations next with meet the press moderator david gregory. Marking the moment when the civil war reached d. C. The group forced to stay on the sidelines of this reenactment. Heres amelia. As we head into the work week were looking at storms for the start, but by the finish, it will be comfortable an refreshing. Ill have the latest timing and what you can expect as far as Severe Weather goes in my forecast. That its given me time toabout reflect on some of lifeseen biggest questions. Like, if you could save hundreds on Car Insurance by making one simple call, why wouldnt you make that call . See, the only thing i can think of is that you cant get any. Bars. Ah, thats better. Its a beautiful view. I wonder if i can see mt. Rushmore from here. Geico. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on Car Insurance. In the week ahead a race against time for a deal with iran. Next sunday marks the deadline to reach an agreement over the countrys nuclear program. David gregory will discuss this with a special guest this morning on meet the press and david joins us now to talk about this. Thanks for being with us this morning. Thanks so much. Start there with Irans Nuclear program. Secretary kerry is in vienna right now with iran and six other powers. Meeting to negotiate a longterm deal. But is an agreement likely to be reached in time and what happens if they cant break through . Theres a lot of points here. And weve got an exclusive interview this morning with javad zarif the foreign minister of iran. Our audience hasnt had a chance to see him and hear him in detail. Iran is believed to want a Nuclear Weapons program which is why the u. S. And others want them to dismantle much of their capacity. They are telling they the he are not me they are not prepared to do it. They should trust iran when it says it doesnt want a nuclear bomb. Even if there is a deal, it might get one in ten days, the president has a problem at home in congress. Congress is not of a mind to ease the sanctions on iran. Iran is a state sponsor of terror. Supporting the assad regime in syria. So i dont think congress on either side, republican or democrat, is interested in taking the foot off the pedal of sanctions and i think that becomes a political problem. John kerry has been busy lately trying to ease tensions in the middle east between israelis and palestinians. Whats the impact . Youll hear from martin indyk who stepped down as middle east envoy telling me he does not think that a Ground Invasion is necessarily what is next. He thinks the israeli leadership is a little bit more reluctant to do that now because theyre not sure what that would actually achieve. They want to stop the rocket fire. They have some room it seems to do that from the u. S. And other countries who have been supportive. But the issue now is what does it take to get a ceasefire, to get this to stop. That seems off yet. Weve been talking about immigration this week, in particular children crossing the border from central america. President obama has asked congress for 3. 7 billion in funding to help deal with this issue. But will politics get in the way of a deal here . Well, it has. Theres no question. On both sides of it. The president has a lot of pressure from his party because theyve gone down to visit the border because hes talking about deporting most of these children and others who are coming in. Republicans dont seem to want to support him. The failure of comprehensive immigration reform. I think the focus is getting most of these children deported. Getting them back to the Central American countries and the president wants as much flexibility in the best way possible and the safest way possible because the journey to get to this point that our pictures are showing is so treacherous and they are being exploited and harmed in horrible ways by some of these smugglers. This piece has to stop. David gregory, thanks so much. A few minutes away from meet the press on nbc 4. So stay with us here at 10 30, for david and meet the press. Actually have a great picture on my facebook and twitter pages people are loving. Somebody sent it to me. You have to check it out. Called the super moon. Its looking bigger and brighter because its passing closer to the earth. Dont worry, were looking at one next month and the one after that. Plenty of that in our future. Also in our future, comfortable air. Today hot and humid. Tomorrow hot and humid. Tuesday, hot, humid and then after that it will be nice. The humidity is low. Wednesday, thursday, friday, it will start to get a little bit more muggy on saturday, but High Temperatures for the middle part and end of the week, will be in the mid 80s. Current temperatures right now, well, were in the low 80s. So right now, how it feels in washington, 83 degrees. That will be the High Temperature on wednesday almost. But then take out the humidity. Just imagine how refreshing that will be. The air conditioner is getting a break. 75 in manassas, 82 in annapolis. Looking for the most part mainly sunny skies, filtered sunshine out there, all in all, today mostly to partly sunny. Heres how temperatures warm up into the afternoon hours. Notice by noon were at 87. At 1 00 we jump to 90. For the remainder of the afternoon hours into the early evening hours, temperatures sit around the 93, 94 degree mark. Thats our high today. 94. Now on storm team 4 radar this is the activity im keeping a close eye on. This is where were going to get our showers and thunderstorms from later today. There could be an isolated afternoon shower or thunderstorm mainly west of washington. But i really think the activity holds off until about 8 00 p. M. Tonight. Here we are at noon. Hazy sunshine across the area. 1 30, frederick county, potentially dealing with popup showers and thunderstorms. But again, my timing really focused on that 8 00 hour when were going to see scattered showers and thunderstorms moving through the area. Still tracking the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms overnight tonight. This is tomorrow morning. Youre heading back to work on monday. Its a dry start to the day. Partly to mostly cloudy skies. Tomorrow afternoon were tracking rain and thunderstorms, some thunderstorms tomorrow could potentially be severe. Heavy rain is possible tomorrow. Notice the bright reds there on future weather. A High Temperature tomorrow of 93 degrees. Rain and thunderstorms likely continue into the early evening hours tomorrow. Outdoor plans, want to go to the pool, kids have sports outdoors, not looking like a great day for that. As far as Severe Weather is concerned, tomorrow, really looking at the threat for high winds and maybe some hail and any thunderstorms because of the heavy rain. There could also be flash flooding. Now on tuesday, a High Temperature of 89 degrees and this is the day we start to see a bit of a pattern shift. The hot and humid air goes away, cool air filters in. It filters in tuesday night. So wednesday, thursday and friday temperatures will feel like early june outside, plenty of sunshine for wednesday and thursday. It will be nice to have a bit of a break. Absolutely. I am so looking forward to it. Right. Thanks, amelia. Well tell you coming up where you can join soccer fans to see todays final match of the 2014 world cup.
