New this morning out of waco, texas, after nine bikers are killed in a rival gang shooting. We are hearing from the restaurant where it happened. Twin peeks posting, we are horrified by the criminal violent acts that occurred outside the restaurant today. Well continue to work with police as they investigate this terrible crime. Now nine motorcycle gang members were killed and 18 others were hurt following the fight that involved guns and knives. Nor than a hundred people are in more than a hundred people are in custody and they were meeting to discuss turf and recruitment. Back to you aaron. Thank you. Police say a rockville man confessed to killing his longtime neighbors. Hes waking up in jail in alaska. Police arrested scott tomaszewski. Hes charged in the deaths of the vilardos. Investigators found money with possible blood on tomaszewskis wallet at the time of his arrest and they found evidence linking him to their murder. Police tracked him down while investigating a separate burglary last month. Neighbors are stunned. To think that, you know, you know someone down the road could do something so horrific. Montgomery county police say tomaszewski had been given access to the couples home. They were found dead in their pajamas on mothers day. The vilardo family said quote, for the past week we have known the where, the when and the how. Now we know who. And while we may never truly understand why as a result of the work of the Police Department and the prosecutors office, we can take the first step on the long road to healing. Happening today, a group of people will rally in support of the purple line in maryland. Theyll gather at 6 15 this morning at the new library at wayne avenue and fenton street in Silver Spring. A light rail stop is planned in front of the library. The protest follows Maryland Governor larry hogan saying the projects 2 billion price tag is unacceptable. The Washington Post reported first that hogan is reluctant to go forward because of the projects current cost. That 16mile light rail line would connect New Carrollton and bethesda. Plan ahead if youre taking vre and heading south. Crews will perform track work south of the fredericksburg station. You can see 45 minute delays for the next two weeks. This is all part of the project of a new track. No school in fredericksburg. The principal said theres a problem with the electrical power there. The school will post any updates on the website. Megan . Reporter you can see the Police Activity and we have a number of road closures in the area. Not a lot of Information Available at this point, but this is what we know so far. Around 2 30 this morning, police got a call for a car crash. In the 3200 block of reed street in Prince Georges County. When officers went up to that car, thats when they discovered a dead person inside. Not much other information being made available at this point. We do have a road closure. Im on reed street. We have got a section of that the 3200 block is closed at this point. And theres also a larger closure on mlk, Martin Luther king is closed between johnson avenue and ardwick ardmore. I spoke to police a short time ago and they believe that investigators will be out here for another hour, perhaps two hours. So that closure will be in place for a little while. Maybe during the start of this mornings rush hour. No other information about exactly who this person is who is found in this car dead early this morning, but certainly early in the investigation. An eyewitness said that osprey, quote, just literally just appeared to drop out of the sky. This happened yesterday morning in hawaii. You can see dark plumes of smoke in the video of the aftermath here. One marine guydied on impact. A bus driver in georgia may pay a big fine for causing a crash after stopping on train tracks. Police say she intentionally jumped on to the track. Trains had to single track for several years. No delays expected this morning. Firefighters say the location of a smoke alarm may have delayed its warning in a fire at a Prince Georges County apartment. A woman died in that fire. Neighbors called 911 when smoke started filling up the hallway at an Apartment Building on audrey lane in oxon hill early sunday morning. Firefighters found the smoke alarm located in a hallway closet. 15 before the hour now and lawmakers are praising the special forces mission that led to the death of an isis commander in syria. Kerry said there was not enough Security Forces to hold the city and the set back was a move of opportunity by isis. On a positive note in the war as you mentioned over the weekend, continued air strikes were happening along with u. S. Forces go deep in syria and killing the top money man. He was very close to their top leader. His wife was also captured. U. S. Forces say that she helped manage hostages kept by isis. A dozen others died in the raid but no u. S. Casualties. A man in Columbia Heights woke up to the sound of a knife being pulled from his knife set and found two burglars in his apartment. He asked them to leave and they did. I said i know youre here, get out, take whatever you want. Just leave. And just when he thought he was safe, the burglars returned. They had forgotten a bag filled with items. I opened the door, threw it out and they left. An off duty officer at nearby giant noticed something suspicious and called it in. At least some of stolen items are back with their owners. Well its back to the drawing board for Montgomery County schools as it tries to find a new superintendent. Just days ago, the board of education announced its quote preferred candidate was dr. Andrew houlihan from texas. A statement was released saying he no longer wants to be considered for the job. A College Campus now an endangered historic site. Theres a Slave Cemetery at Sweet Briar College and its closing in august and alumni are fighting to keep it open. Preservation virginia added it to the list of the endangered locations. Its meant to save landmarks and not the school itself. Hillary clinton is headed to iowa among growing criticism she doesnt take enough questions from the press.
