Thousands of people are running. It is the 41st Marine Corps Marathon happe a marathon in the world and theyll be at it for at least a few more hours unless youre one of the finish finishers. This is a live look. Everyone is pacing themselves. The starting line koezed a few minutes ago. David culver joining us live from mile 11. David, runners are inching closer towards you by the second. I see some in the background. Angie and adam. They have made their way runners coming around hanes point. That is mile 11 into mile 12. Theyre going to a food station, picking up on Energy Boosters and making their way around to the hydration station getting gatorade water and continuing along. I want to show you what is behind us. What the runners are coming from and that is the wear blue essential section. You can look at some of the video. We walked by there a short time ago. There are 300 flags held by volunteers. Theyre as the military families. It is a moving part. You have to think. This is the midway point of the race. This is the place where youre 11 miles in. You have nor go. About halfway there and you need tho that motivation. You need the inspiration and they run through this section here. This run to remember, and you see the flags, the flags have the name of some of the fallen. You also see faces. It is incredibly moving. You see just these pictures put going. I talked to colleen woukins. She was here early this morning. Here is what she has to say about the run to remember section. Where the placards are with the faces of the fallen, when they go through there, there are nothing but foot steps. It is total silence. And you will see people going off to the side to find their posters, to touch them, to hug them just to have a nt they come through the tunnel of flags and theyre embraced with cheers, with clapping, some of them will stop and hug. Some of them with high five you and some will move on. I can tell you from just before the run to remember section on the other side of it, you can see that obviously theyre physically worn, theyre getting to the midway section. When they come on this side of it, theyre rejuvenated. They find the motivation and remembering his son who had fallen. He ran this a couple of years ago, that section is what kept him going to the finish line. Ill send it back to you guys. Starting to get warm out there for sure. It sure is climbing into the 60s and by the time a lot of people finish, which is around noon time, it is going to be warm for running a marathon. Really getting almost dangerously warm.
