Breaking news in the alexandria section of fairfax county. A man has been shot and killed. This is happening in the 5700 block of general washington drive. We do know that deputies say the suspect is in custody. And that suspect apparently confronted someone he knew and then killed that person. Fairfax county Police Say One other suspect ran away. All weekend long crews are taking down a power crane at the herndon station part of phase two of the silver line. The work started last night at 10 00. Its not going to wrap until 5 30 monday morning. As for what is happening now on metro, were almost there. But the last safetrack surges could cause some major disruptions. Metro announced it will close several stations instead of keeping them open and stable tracking trains. This is going to make things move faster. Heres wt metro is closing 15 orange line stations. New carollton, landover, cheverly, deanwood and minnesota avenue. For surge 16 on the red line, the shady grove and rockville stations will be closed until late june. Once all the safetrack work is finally done, metro will cut back its hours to get more work done in the overnight. Remember, the fare increases take effect come this summer in july. Police tweeting out this morning that a man has been shot and killed on general washington drive. That is not far from where 395 meets the beltway. And were told that the suspect is in custody and confronted and killed someone he knew. Fairfax county say another suspect took off. And another homicide, well, that is one here in montgomery county, maryland. The deadly shooting happened there overnight. A man was also kill in germantown as we mentioned. One of four people. Derrick ward has the latest details in montgomery county. Reporter were here on the scene this morning on kitchen house way in germantown. Take a look, police are still investigating and doing sweeping outside of this house. This happened at about five minutes before 1 00. Police were called when they got here. Some were in the house where the shooting occurred, but some of the victims ran from the back of the house through neighbors yards. One victim made it to a neighbors deck and had to be taken out through that neighbors house. Now, we dont have any identities of the victims yet but know one male did not survive the shooting.
