M. , a man approached officers outside the District Police station and just started shooting. Active shooter. One officer being transported by another officer. One officer en route to Prince Georges County being transported by another officer. Police officers got in to a shootout with the suspect and officer coal so th but didnt make it. The police chief called this an unprovoked attack. It wasnt about anything. This man launched an attack on a police station. Murder is a crime against our entire community and not only that, but murder is the highest crime against humanity and thats how we will treat it. One of the suspects was also shot during the gun battle. Hes expected to survive. A second suspect was arrested. It does appear the suspects are brothers. Now, one of the suspects were told michael ford was found in a popeyes restaurant not far from here hiding in the bathroom. Malik ford believed to have been the shooter was taken to Prince Georges County hospital where hes expected to survive. We dont have any word on charges yet. But police did search a house less than a mile from here on rider wood court. Sources say thats where the two suspects lived. We dont know if they were renting, if they owned the house or what have you. Still developing information. According to the police chief, the officer who died, jacai colson, had no official contact with either of these suspects. And outside the hospital yesterday, we spoke with a woman who claimed to be the aunt of the suspect. He shot an officer. I apologize if but all lives matter. Where are my nephews .
