Today friends and family and colleagues will attend the funeral for a firefighter kill in the line of duty. John ulmschneider was trying to get into a temple hills home to check on a having a medical emergency on friday. That homeowner said that he thought someone was trying to break into his house so he opened fire. The Fire Departments as far away as Baltimore City will help emergency calls in prince georges today so the local firefighters can attend the funeral. Today a teenager charge in the stabbing death of a relative heads to court. Dennis adams was stabbed by a 17yearold relative earlier this month at a house in arlington. The team of the teenager has not been released. A domestic dispute led to the stabbing. A d. C. Man faces murder charges in the death of this man. An offduty secret Service Agent by the name of arthur baldwin. Police arrested charles sims on monday for the shooting death that happened last december near south capitol and first street. Police believe sims tried to rob baldwin before shooting. Baldwin worked for the secret serv b the time. We are watching some big developments in the flint water crisis. Michigans attorney general is going to announce criminal charges against three people, two state regulators and a flint employee are allegedly at the helm of wrongdoing, a probe that will likely expand. The felony and misdemeanor charges include violating michigans Drinking Water law, official misconduct, obstruction of utility property and evidence tampering. Donald trump is expanding his lead to more than 250 delegates. He now has 844 compared to senator ted cruzs 559. Governor john kasich is still way behind. In fact, trump is now the only gop candidate with a chance to clench the partys nomination before the gop convention. He won by so much in new york that there are not enough delegates left in future contests for either cruz or kasich to reach that 1,237 they need in order to grab the gop nomination. Their only hope now is to force a contested convention. And Hillary Clinton telli supporters this morning that she can see her victory over senator sanders. She captured nearly 60 in the vote in yesterdays democratic primary. Senator sanders is insisting there is a way forward. He would need to win 71 of the remaining delegates and uncommitted superdelegates at a shot for winning the nomination. Next up, voters in maryland will have their say. Reporter well, good morning, eun. The search efforts are going to start right at daybreak this morning at the Shenandoah National park. The search efforts have been going on for several days for the missing firefighter, paramedic, who is stationed right here at station 32 in Fairfax County. Nicole mittendorff was reported missing on friday. Her car was found in the National Park saturday evening. Authorities stressed at this point theres no sign of foul play but theres a lot of concern from relatives who do not know where she is or what may have happened to her. Shes described as a dedicated here at station 32 in Fairfax County. There will be a vigil tonight for her, a prayer vigil. Heres the information about that, it will happen at 7 30 this evening here at station 32 on Burke Center Parkway here in Fairfax County. An Appeals Court upheld federal regulations yesterday to require Public Schools to treat transgender students consistently with their gender identity. Gavin grimm spoke to our sister station about it last night. He challenged the Public School policy requiring either the restroom that corresponds with their biological gender or a private single stall restroom. The ruling has wide implications but is far from set in stone. The Gloucester County school board can appeal to a higher court and the case is so controversial it could eventually go all the way to the supreme court. We have individuals that are very happy theres liberation and there are individuals who are uncomfortable. The ruling applies to four other states including north carolina. It likely means that states controversial transgender bathroom law passed last month cannot be enforced in Public Schools including colleges and universities. Today a chance to talk about how much you trust the police. Arlington is holding a Community Forum at 7 00 tonight. The countys chief of police and sheriff will both be there. If you do want to talk to them, go to Thomas Jefferson middle school on south old and there was a smoke incident that happened back in 2015. The National Transportation safety board will reveal what it believes caused that incident at a meeting on may 3rd. A woman was killed and more than 90 others were hurt when they got stuck on that train in january of 2015. The train was not able to return to the station because power was lost to the third rail.
