Generally speaking counties that are closer to washington, d. Went to rubio. Farther south you go out to the west, appalachia, voters chose trump. You take a look at the democratic results now, Hillary Clinton won by a wide margin in most counties. Clinton took 64 of the vote in virginia. Compared to senator Bernie Sanders 35 . Now, virginia could be a major factor in the general election this november. And voters in the primary said they were thinking about that when they left the polls.
