These people went, got zika tests, got the results back, thought everything was okay but theyre now learning that its not okay, that there were mistakes made and the test results are inaccurate. Two pregnant women who were who got or who tested negative for zika are now learning that they are in fact, positive for the virus. The mistake in the testing was discovered during an audit of the d. C. Lab. Now, retesting is already underway. There are 409 specimens that are going to have to be retested. The cdc is helping out with that. So far we have two false negative results. Those two pregnant women. Now health Officials Say there will likely be more sals negatives found when they retest those specimens. The two women have had their babies, however we do not know if they had any complications, if there were any birth defects. The botched tests we should mention were done between july 14th of last year and december the 14th. Retesting already underway. It will t though, to get those results back. Back to you. Thank you. Now given the developmentes in the district we wanted to remind you about some of the signs and symptoms of zika. The most common symptoms are red eyes, fever, joint pain or rash. People can also experience muscle pain or headaches. Symptoms are usually mild and people dont get sick enough to go to the hospital. Zika is most commonly spread through mosquitos and mosquito bites but it can also be spread from mother to child, through sex or through blad traood transfusions. Zika poses much more risk for unborn babies. It can cause birth defects including microcephaly. Right now there is novak seen or cu no vaccine or cure for zika. There is a search for 59yearold man. Police say steven was last seen on tuesday around 4 00 in the afternoon. He was leaving his residence at his apartments in silver spring. Police say friday mornings seem to be the time when crooks in hyattsville hit. This after eight armed robberies were reported in that city since mid december. Many are happening in one specific area. A regional Law Enforcement taction task force put together a new threat assessment and one of the gangs theyre is ms 13. That name has come up in two recent murder investigations. Reporter we know that in the Alexandra Reyes case there have been ten arrests charging five with murder. Many of those are teens with reported ties to gangs. Here now is 15yearold Alexandra Reyes.
