Theres the batch of rain coming out of pittsburgh and there are in some of our deep sheltered valleys along the i81 corridor there are pockets where you could have a little bit of freezing rain so keep that in mind. Not expecting any trouble here in and around the beltway. So the freezing rain advisory does include Washington County and right down through martinsburg and winchester. Right along i81 there and points out to the west, so boons burough down to falling waters, west virginia, this shouldnt be a big issue but isolated pockets of freezing rain. Be extra careful for that. Temperatures will gradually get above freezing. Well be in the 60s by later on today. More about the temperatures. Developing this morning two people are dead and two others are in Critical Condition after a shooting in waldorf. A child is among those killed in that the Charles County Sheriffs Office says the male shooter is also dead. Justin finch is live in waldorf now with more on the motive behind this tragic shooting. Reporter aaron, good morning. At first the Charles County Sheriffs Office rolled out their Tactical Team prepared here for an active shooter but in the end that was not the case. They now believe this appears to be a domestic related shooting, one that left a little girl dead. Looking now at video from the investigation overnight, just after 8 00 on thursday evening, officers found a man dead on a townhouse staircase with a gun near his side. Investigators say he may have shot and killed that toddler aged girl and shot a teen girl and woman several times, both air lifted to a nearby hospital and are now fighting for their lives and all found at that west dale court townhouse. Its very emotional for everybody here, especially our officers because when they first arrived on the scene, they thought perhaps on and i know that some of the officers made a tactical entry into the house because they heard that there had been a child inside as well. And their goal was to try to go reporter now, details in this case are still coming together. The Sheriffs Office say they are welcoming any tips the public may have to put this all together. This is at the intersection of Edge Hill Road and i believe this is newburg so again, a very serious crash there. Multiple serious injuries is what were told from investigators there on the scene. Again, two people having to be flown to the hospital. Another medi vac requested for another patient there so very serious crash in newburg. Back to you. Another breaking story from the district this morning. Were working to learn more about a deadly shooting. Police say they found a man shot and killed on naylor road at fair lawn avenue in southeast. We dont know how old he was or how this happened. Police are looking for a suspect. Right now House Republican leaders are in the same spot they were in yesterday. Theyre still trying to get enough votes to pass their bill to replace the Affordable Care act. That vote is expected to happen today. Their latest effort involved making some changes to the bill to entice moderates and conservatives. It involves keeping tax on high income earners and leaving some to the states to decide. A hearing will be held that could bring d. C. One step closer to securing its next police chief. More than 80 people are signed up to speak at the public hearing for acting chief Peter Newsham. Mayor bowser will speak in support of the nomination. Others including members of the black lives Matter Movement plan to voice why he should not be confirmed. Meanwhile a local nonprofit says newsham should not be confirmed until public records about Inauguration Day protests are released. So temperatures could be below freezing. That would be giving some icy conditions as a possibility for a brief period of time. Theres the rain out to our north and west right now. The suspect in a wave of threats against Jewish Community centers has been arrested. His name is under seal but we know he is 19 years old and was arrested in southern israel yesterday. Were told he has dual u. S. Citizenship. At a brief Court Appearance his public defender says he has the brain tumor that affects his cognitive functions. Authorities say the suspect made the threats from his bedroom and masked the origin with sophisticated technology, some of which he built himself. We are learning more about a deadly attack on a man in new york. Police say baltimore man James Jackson went to new york because he thought it would be a good would be Good Practice for a larger attack in times square. Police say he stabbed Timothy Coughman in the back with a sword. Jackson turned himself in after he jackson said hes hated black men for a decade. Right now hes charged with Second Degree murder but could also be charged with a hate crime. A maryland family is devastated by the murder of a u bowie man. Police say brown was robbed before he was shot to death. They believe he either opened the door for someone or someone followed him into his hotel room. Either way, his family wants answers. I want to know why. I mean, if they wanted money or anything he would have given them money. Hes that kind hearted. Browns family tells news4 there may be a suspect in custody in miami right now. They are working on getting his body back here. At this time yesterday we were telling you about a crash on the beltway involving a Prince Georges County Police Officer. Well, now we know the officer has been suspended and accused of county police say officer Christopher Brown was not on duty when he clipped the back of a tractor trailer. He crashed into a guardrail. Sources tell news4 he left the scene and returned about 34 minutes later. Officer brown pled guilty to dui in 2012 after another crash in his cruiser. I had the honor with helping out with the Prince William county valor awards yesterday afternoon. It recognizes local heroes in police, fire and rescue. One of those recognized was officer ashley gwendon. She was shot and killed on her first day on the street a couple of years ago. You saw some of the officers honored for lots of Different Things theyve done across the county in the past year or so. Investigations and the firefighters who have done amazing rescues, so a big tip of the hat to the folks there at the valor awards there in Prince William county. Good work. Some d. C. It is quite slow here this morning. Edge hill road at popes creek road, a new crash there. That is still hanging around. Going to be there for some time. Several people had to be medi vacd out. We have a crash blocking the left lane inbound suitland parkway at naylor, crash in the left lane as well. A couple of other issues were following. All of that coming up. Good morning. Yes, indeed. Pockets in mainly these deep valleys out here. Some pockets of freezing rain there so over the next couple of hours we do have a freezing rain advisory for hagerstown, and points out to the west there.
