First how to get someone to do a favor for you especially with the holidays coming up. Around the house. Heres a simple way what is your best trick to get someone to do something you want them to do . Reverse psychology. How would you do that . With my kids. Whatever you do, do not clean your room. Dont do it. Then they go and do it . [laughter] okay maybe not, but reverse psychology does work. It does work. Heres how they say you can do it. According to a british review someones forearm, skyrockets the chance they will come around. Thats weird. That was weird. Do that again. Thats weird would you ever do that to someone . No they mean like this. Oh, could you do a favor for me . Oh, okay. If you slightly like if you touch their forearm they have very likely it goes way up the chances of them doing the favor you asked them to do. This isnt related to that, but one thing i find interesting about people if you meet them at aar they touch you. What about kissing . What do you mean . My mom kisses everyone on the lips i guess she kissed everyone here on the lips. It was good. It was good cameraman dave said. My mom comes in and she is like mmmm. You dont do that do you . To people in my hometown i do. Everyone in my hometown kisses on the lips. Yesterday, she kissed me that se kisses my kids every time too. How about your body parts. Speaking of all of this, according to selfmagazine there are body parts women love the most. Can i guess . Yes you can. Okay, im going to guess this, no, but that is a great, great guess. You will be shocked. The reason i guessed this is because im very envious of women who have really good arms and shoulders. Our next guest had one of those moments at a Convenience Store on thanksgiving day. Were happy to bring back mary kay von brendel. The story never gets old we love having you back. I love seeing you. It reminds me what season it is. All of the sudden it seems like the years pass so quickly. I know when we see you you will been here isnt that crazy . Yeah. Good how are you doing . Im doing well. You work all year long on this. Things start ramping up in august. I have people call me in august 1, to volunteer. 8 00 a. M. My phone rings on august 1. I bet i met them. There is a couple i know youre a big fan of. Remember we were there and we lost maddie my youngest daughter. I didnt want to she does that sometimes she just meets new friends and goes somewhere. We searched the church and you found her in the basement. This is a thanksgiving day event. We havent said what it is yet. This is a thanksgiving day event tell us what the event is. Its a Community Thanksgiving dinner. We host at three locations the first at st. Marys. The second at new hope ucca in jackson and the third being faith lutheran in germantown. Because of illness or physical impairment we have home delivery. We serve the entire washington county. This is something you were inspired by when you were in that Convenience Store. Walk us back to that story that day what happened and what you were inspired to do. Years ago, when my kids were smaller youre going from that one family thanksgiving to the next family thanksgiving, and you have to pack the kids all up and they have fun playing with cousins and you pet car they get crabby mom gets crabby. We stopped at a 711 so i could grab some refreshments, and im standing in front looking for beverages and there is this older gentleman standing at the frozen section of 7levin and was picking out a frozen male. What a humbling experience. Im crabby about going from one family to the other and heres a gentleman going home by himself enjoying a frozen dinner. Very humbling you really have to get your priorities in line. Exactly. When people go to these events at the three different locations you have its a wonderful time i think for the people who are there as well as the people who are serving. I would definitely agree. You decorate tables, there are table clo. The food is delicious. There is a complete traditional thanksgiving dinner. People are so happy to be there. I feel like and its very social. Thats the thing that i think makes sets it apart from other events maybe where people receive meals. Right. Its very social and people get a chance to talk and greet one another and really, enjoy the holiday. I think one of the things that was important for me to establish this is i wanted our guests to feel like they were coming into somebodys home. At the door to the people that are serving them, they are our guest. And you know, the joy that is in that room. I know you experienced it. Its just overwhelming and it is such a great thing to be part of. How about the cost . Its free. Isnt that incredible . I love that. From the generosity of the community, with the help of many volunteers plus generous donations its free to the general public. Thats wonderful. Who is welcome at one of the three sites . Evee. Advertisement its to anyone who would otherwise be alone. Think its your definition of what alone means to you. I have college kids that come that cant make it home for thanksgiving. I have older adults whos kids have moved away and they are by themselves and dont want to be stuck at home celebrating thanksgiving and staring at the four walls. A couple years ago i had a family come that had a significant loss that year this was their first holiday they didnt want to spend it by cant afford the traditional thanksgiving dinner so, basically, its welcome to everyone who feels that they would rather enjoy thanksgiving in this sense. Quickly we ran out of time if transportation is an issue you will bring meals to people. Thats correct. We to home delivery. We serve all of washington county. Wonderful. Thats fantastic. You brought the neatest stuff. Our shop has many nooks and crannies to search through see you come in and you got to go through everything. He i feel like this solves everyones problem. This mat here. You interchange the for the holidays. Heres one. Food, family and football. Or if you want to have your favorite packers. Welcome. I mean there is christmas ones. It is one mat you interchange the middle section. Hold up the main mat this is really beautiful. The mat is the basic frame for it and you just insert all of the pieces we just showed you. Thats so smart. We have many inserts. I only brought a few obviously. Seasons into the year. Lets hit this the original miracle melting snowman. Yes so he is flat as a pancake now. [laughter] but you just pull his little pieces off. Wait until we have a little shot. We are going to try to get a shot of it. Okay. Pull his pieces off then i will give you each if you want to make a ball. Its just like puddy. Yeah and he took about 15 to 20 pancake. This is our third year. We go through like ten cases of them Everybody Loves them. So you build your snowman. Then you put your pieces on. You put your pieces here. And our floor director said her kids love this. That is so cool you build it. And you melt it. It melts flat as a pancake about 15 minutes. That is so cute. So funny. I bet kids love that. They do. People play with it at the store running. Everybody plays with him throughout the season. I have seen these before they are so cool. What a nice gift. We really have something for average. Everyone. We try to mix it up. This is fun girl things. Girlfriends therapists you can drink with. [laughter] i love that. That is funny. Merry, merrier, merriest the level of wine you get. [laughter] thats good. Welcome back today we want to know what is bag with merle norman. I tell you one thing about your makeup bag that is you got to switch it up when the season changes. Thats right we rarely do it, but soon it will be winter weve got suggestions for this cold weather that is coming it is nice today, but its coming. Were going to help you get your glow on. Lets talk about what is in for the season. A lot of people dont change up their makeup routine. They will think about foundation, but not thinking about the other colors that go on their face. What is in this season . The bronzes are really hot. The purples are really hot. Maybe you see a lot of the purples in the stores you know. Shimmery and shiny. Can anybody wear shimmer is age a problem with shimmer . I dont think it is. I have been a Makeup Artist 25 years and anybody can wear shimmer. I have shimmer on and im 64. And it looks beautiful. You have the purple on. Shimmer is different than it used to be. They used to say no one over 30 should wear anything that is shiny that was different it was like glitter. These powders are ground and then they are pressed in and the color just reflects light. Like the christmas tree. Right. Holiday lights. We all know when you reflect light that masks wrinkles, things like that. You want to reflect light it makes you look more youthful. Anything too flat makes everything one dimensional. Talk about your modern exposure thats a mix of amethyst purples and cool sam i like to do a mix. I prepped her with the cozy news. With her colors that amethyst is just going to really pop. This is a real dark purple pallet. Im using an angled shadow brush like this. Im going to go right into crease area over the brown that i already put on. Okay so there is a little brown already. I already prepped her a little bit. But see how you can amp up that look. Yeah. Thats really pretty. Then if we take the new purple liner, yeah. Purple gem. Which a lot of people would be nervous to use. Now remember purple is neutral. You know, in order to make the color purple what do you need . Yellow . Blue and red. Im sorry i have to clarify that made me sound not very smart. I was thinking the opposite on the color wheel. Okay. [laughter] that is a blend of cool and warm color makes it neutral. Look at this it has this little tiny these arent your 80s purple. This is beautiful. It is gorgeous. Rich colors. It has a little chicer in it.
