Today colder confirmed her own cancellation but before calling out what she says is a disturbing trend these days of the campuses of universities and colleges places that are supposed to be laboratory for ideas which she says now are waving the white flag in opposition to students who dont like some of the things they might hear. It shows how radical the universities are generally. I mean, what youre talking about i agree with, yes they want toes speech. When you have Bernie SandersElizabeth Warren howard bill mahr and people have fought and died for the right to free speech. Reporter . Reporter turns out coulter is getting some help from the left, the liberal aclu out with a statement tonight saying in part, if the government gets to decide when speech counts as hate speech, the powers that be may later feel free to censure any speech they dont like. Graduation season is upon us. Speakers will be heading to campuses with differing ideology. At the newseum we heard different takes on what this all means and whether or not free speech is under assault. Freedom of speech is guaranteed to constitution so i believe that ann should have been guaranteed that freedom of speech. It puts a conflict of interest for police. Its like do we protect her this high platform political official or our students. Its kind of a foundation right in our country is to have free speech even if its controversial. I guess its just the cost for the school like having to get all the Police Forces and riot and reparations for everything after that, that could possibly be a concern. All right. What a difference a day makes. Really . I mean, just imagine what we were dealing with the last couple of days with the gray skies and the rain and just kind of a general misery out there. It was miserable. Now it is sunny and bright and we bring in gary mcgrady bringing in the sunshine. Just on cue, right. Yeah. Yeah. Here comes the sun. Yeah, and here comes the heat, too, because its going to really get warm. At least for part of the weekend. You may have heard by now the weekend is a little bit tricky. I think nailed. Sunday is going to be a little bit harder to figure out where the front is going to end up. That makes an impact. Im not going to talk about that now but if youll stay with us, right, big tease here, about 5 45 or so ill have more on the weekend forecast. 79 right now here in town, 80s back out to the west. Look at frederick, 84 degrees there. Now more clouds an few showers getting closer to i81, so winchester is 77, martinsburg is 79 so a little bit cooler and then over here for annapolis temperatures beautiful. Really, really nice there, too, coming in at 78 degrees or so. Now, i mentioned rain. You can see some showers back out to the west of us. Again, this is all west coming through West Virginia right now. It is moving in our direction. Look, theres going to be showers in the forecast later on this evening and during the overnight but i do believe its going to be few and far between with these showers coming across. So, a lot of us will stay dry and those of us that do get a little bit of rain as this comes on across, it does not look like its lot, but with that in mind later this evening and into the overnight, there is going to at least be a chance for some showers. For the most part this evening looks really nice. Im getting a bit ahead of myself with the weekend. 78 or so at 7 oclock. Obviously thats off from where we are now. 76 at 9 oclock, so very, very mild there. And 11 oclock, were 73 or so. Notice by 9 oclock i put a few showers in, 11 oclock, too, and then that will carry into the overnight t lows tonight middle y 60s. I think 67 in town, how about that. Close to 70 for quantico, 63, lower 60s or so for frederick and then culpeper 65. Tomorrow some Early Morning clouds, maybe a little bit of fog, too, but well end up with a high of 84 degrees or so. And i want to show you real quickly at 10 oclock, then again, were just showing kind of spotty showers and that will be continue through the evening and into the overnight as well. So, if you get a little bit of rain, it should not be too many terribly full forecast and more details on the weekend. The weekend trickery, ill say that, because honestly, guys, im not exactly sure what were going to end up with for highs on sunday. Just being honest. All right. Way to be honest. I applaud you for that. But im going to give it a shot. I want everybody to know im going to give it a shot. All right. Dont totally bail on us. I wont. Thanks gary. Its tonight at 7 00 and it is opened to parents. Seven students here at River Bend Middle School shared a drink in contained xanax and after panicking, they went to the school nurse. All of the students are okay and they were sent home with parents but the concerning thing is that on that very same day, two students at potomac falls high school, which is just down the street from here, were also found to be in possession of that same drug. So, now, theres an Ongoing Investigation into whether the two incidents are linked. Now, at tonights meeting the Sheriffs Office says they wont have any updates to that investigation however theyll provide educational material and information on drug use and the Drug Prevention for parents to talk to their teenagers. I went back into martial arts as a way of recovery. When i first started training, i wasnt allowed to train in most gyms they turned me away because there had never been a amputee before that that neighborhood martial arts. At one point i want to start competing. We had to drive four and a half hours sneak in a tournament. I would wear long pants my leg was padded up and after i won my first fight i knocked the guy out in the second round i went to the center of the ring raised my leg above my head and the entire stadium went quiet. Years go by they offered me to fight. Nobody knew if an amputee could do at this time. Its a combat sport so you cant think about it. Its not lynn nar motion. You have to be acting in a flow and to me that shows true ability. I retired from mixed martial arts after holding 170pound title. About half year ago i heard about this world jujitsu tournament. The rules of the tournament was that he couldnt use his prosthetic. He had to learn to not have that him to post on anymore. He had to fight able bie prosthetic. The first match he was a little rough, the second a little better and then he ended up submitting all of his opponents and winning. There are advantages you cant ankle me. I dont have an ankle on that side. Im not able to sweep from that side. People are truly stunned. That cant believe that they just got beat by a one legged dude. Jujitsu is a lifetime. It teaches you thousand solve problems under duress sole the things that we learn here are applicable to any area of our lives. Without this, i dont know where i would have ended up.
