Throughout the day and right now sprint users around our region trying to call 911 to report a e fire or some other kind of emergency keep getting a busy signal. Tonight sprint is finally acknowledging there is a problem, but it took hours andur some prompting. It started last night with an underground transformer fire on 18th and l streets. Sprint says this is what impacted cell service today. Causing some customers to get a out, including to 911. O Law Enforcement took to social media to warn people. W as for sprint they posted on facebook that there might be landline issues, but saidut nothing about wireless or 911 calls. Hours went by. I asked why there was no updatet only after that about an hour later did sprint finally send an alert adding customer safety ane security is a top priority. For some it was too little too late. The officer was caught on camera lifting a woman off her feet and pinning her up against hist police crewser. This happened yesterday at a bus stop near the Howard Theater in northwest. The officer accused the woman of pros did you trustee. Did she denies the claim. We talked to the woman. She asked us not to use her namr or show her face. R she told us she was arguing with a man who was disrespecting another woman when police pulled up. So i guess they took that as a a threat and pushed me up on the car, which was harassment. Fairfax county police are investigating a deadly deputyinvolved shooting at ainova fairfax hospital. We first told you about it on our late news last night. It happened around 10 last night. Police say they received 911 calls about a suspicion man at a bus stop outside the hospital. The man was a patient who had recently been release. The deputy who responded to the scene says the man charged att him with a spiked metal signeta post. Thats when he opened fire. The man later died t at the hospital. The deputy who fired the fatal shots is now on routine administrative leave pending an investigation. There is no word tonight what caused a dorm fire at buy i state university. Uni sky fox was over the scene justn before four this afternoon. The fire started on the third residence hall. Firefighters quickly put theuick flames out. Fortunately no one was hurt.
