We havent seen many people out and about, but there have been a lot of cars driving through this area, and now Aston Township Police are looking for one car in particular. Aston Township Police were called to the intersection of glenn road and black horn lane after complaint came in of attempted luring on tuesday. A parent told police her children were walking in this area when two men in a dark green car asked if they need add ride. The children said the car drove away and the men were laughing. But police here dont think its funny at all. Theyve posted a notice about the incident on the front page of their website warning people about the encounter. In that notice to People Living here police say they have received more information that leads them to believe a similar car and occupants were seen in were park last wednesday in the afternoon just a week ago. That park is less than half a mile from here behind a row of homes. And we did just see a Police Cruiser come through this area. Theyre not doing any interviews tonight but they do tell us children were able to give them a very vague description of the two men they say the driver and his passenger were white, skin skinny, tall and had gray hair. Police are now working very hard to find the gunman and listen to this, they say the reason it happened is because the victim accidentally bumped into the shooter. Reporter Philadelphia Police dispatcher Michelle Lynn walk out of the hospital of the university of pennsylvania wednesday afternoon still shaken over a shooting that has left her husband edward in critical condition. Hes a fighter. Hes strong. Hes doing the best he can right now. Running around here with these guns and stuff it dont stop nothing for nobody. Reporter surgical cams were rolling just after 2 00 friday afternoon when three men exited the popular a and a dell until west philadelphia. They approached lynn, words were he can changed, and one suspect threw a punch. Then opened fire with a 9millimeter handgun. They just targeted him and just, you know, gunned him down for no reason. A random act of violence in the city. Reporter gunman fired nine shots from an extended magazine on the gun when the barrage of gunfire ended, the 49 year old lynn had been shot six times. Police say the motive for the shooting the victim bumped into the suspect in the store. Pull out gun and shoot someone over an argument its completely senseless. Reporter as the three men ran off down far son street, officers arrived and raced lynn to hup in a cop car. That helped save his life. He has no movement in his lower extremities. Prosecutors say 50 year old joanne smith purposely drove her mini van into the delaware river. It happened in april in florence township. Authorities say a bystander saw it all and jumped to the rescue. Nobody was seriously hurt. A state psychiatric facility is evaluating smith. Happening now in north philadelphia, Temple University is beefing up security patrols to keep students and the community safe. Fox 29s Jennifer Joyce is live in north philadelphia tonight. Jenn for. Reporter well, iain, Temple University is extending its police territory. Temple University Says that this change is in response to students requests they wanted more coverage off campus and now they have it. Its a new and welcome sight on north 18th street. More than 450 Temple University police and Allied Barton Security Officers are now patrolling and expanded coverage zone. Better serve the 13,000 students who live on or near campus. Students asked us what are you going to do to help us be safe out here in the community. Reporter executive director of Public Safety Charles Leone says a plan to expand Campus Police territory has been in the works for months. As the student population off campus has grown sixty three den shutsly. Its really loud and rowdy a lot of the times. Reporter Officials Say the security plan was expedited after a female Temple University student was attack last spring. The young woman was hit in the face with a brick by a group of High School Students on norris near 17th street. An area previously not covered by the university. A man was found dead in the passenger seat of a burning car in the 6100 block of lawrence street. The fire started around 8 00 oclock. Police are calling the death quote suspicious. They also say the fire may be related to a shooting earlier on the 400 block of roz land street. No word on the victims identity. An investigation is underway. In the aftermath of three casino closings, and with another on the horizon, job training sessions like this one tonight in Egg Harbor Township are crucial. Representatives from several local agencies are helping former casino employees with job training and hunting and how to get Unemployment Insurance benefits. This morning in Atlantic City, hundreds of people showed up as the doors opened at a similar event. The Casino Workers Union helping people fill out unemployment paper work at Atlantic City convention center. Thats going to continue over the next few days. When the quakertown Field Hockey Team started their match tonight against central bucks west, there were four people missing on the field. Three coaches and one controversial player who just happens to be boy. When we first met joshua schwartz, he was practicing for his senior year with the quakertown varsity Field Hockey Team. Last week, he told us its difficult, but still worth it i think as long as im playing at this point. Reporter but in the First League Game wednesday against central bucks west, schwartz was not on the field. He quit the team. His mother telling us the negative attention wasnt fair to his teammates. The decision came after this ruling by the pennsylvania inter scholastic athletic associate. Girls teams with male players are ineligible for the playoffs. In essence saying, no boys allowed. The board made a decision not to let the boys play, and, um, it was a decision so that the girls had the opportunity to reach for the playoffs. Reporter and thats not all. Three longtime quakertown coaches also quit in an emotional farewell to the team on tuesday. No reason was given but its clear its put the team in turmoil. It kind of tears us apart. Reporter dave dangelis has a daughter and son that play field hockey at central bucks west. But his son christian was told by his School Officials he cant play with his team either. His father says its a clear case of discrimination. Especially since the piaa still allows girls to play on boys teams with no restrictions. What players are going to want a boy player on the team if they have a shot on the playoffs youve. Its ruining a lot of relationships, teams, families.
