Reporter iain, weve learn that the boy will be spending the night here at Saint Christophers Hospital for children. That bullet still in his left shoulder. Doctors are leaving it there for now. Police are trying to find out who put that bullet in his shoulder. And theyre having trouble answering that question tonight. Investigators worked 2500 block of or rianne know street in north philadelphia after relatives of eightyearold boy told police the boy was shot in the shoulder knocked off his bike by the blast. But theres a problem. We couldnt find any crime scene. There was no ballistic evidence. There was no blood evidence. Reporter police say they know for sure the boy was shot. Its just not clear where it happened or who pulled the trigger. Were getting some conflict conflicting stories from family members which are making detectives suspicion about what actually occurred r. Reporter police are checking surveillance cameras for clues and they say they have no other witnesses except family family. Police are searching the boys home along with another home on the 2600 block of palethorpe not far away where the boys relatives lives. Were getting information this eightyearold boy may have been to one of these homes after being shot. So were going to see if we find any additional evidence inside these properties. Reporter theres another problem. The fact that this boy got shot sometime around 3 30 in the Afternoon Police were not notified till after 5 00 oclock in the afternoon over an hour and a half later is suspect. Reporter that call did not come from family it came from Saint Christophers Hospital for children where the boy is being treated in stable condition. The bullet still lodged in his shoulder. Family members were taken to east detectives where police hope to get to the bottom of this case. Preliminary information is suspect. Were not sure if everyone is being completely truthful.
