Its moved out of here with the front were still looking at a few ringerring showers and some heavy showers that just past by Atlantic City, cape may they actually did have a thunderstorm warning about an hour or so ago. That has ended now as this front has passed through. So still a few lingering showers. That will clear up in no time but look at these temperatures. These are the face for today. 58 in philadelphia. 47 in mount pocono but look down at dover. 65. 64 in wildwood. 64 in Atlantic City. So that was very mild air and while we were looking at thunderstorms earlier this evening. 24 hour temperature change has us up 11 degrees in the city. 7 degrees in mount pocono. 12 degrees in dover. So weve been running above normal. Get ready. That changes cold air is lurking out to our west. This is arctic cold air. But cops say they had no other choice. They had to fire on the dog. It happened this afternoon in the brewery town neighborhood of philadelphia. Our dave kinchen is life right now outside Hahnemann Hospital in center steam dave, what happened here . Reporter well, joyce i spoke with the injured officer. His arm is bandaged up. He says hes doing okay but in the meantime there are three other people on the mend tonight. Chaos on the streets of brewery town. They were yelling at me to get back in the house so i did and watched from my window. Reporter this is the scene after police fired several gunshots killing a pitbull when police say an officer and several other residents got dog bites. The dog pit put down in the middle of girard avenue at 30th street. I was scared. I the cop even looked scared. Reporter investigators it all started after 1 00 p. M. When two pitbulls broke out of this yard and charged across girard to a home with two other pitbulls. Police desperately trying to get the situation under control. I felt terror for the cop that was running because i knew he was running for his life and those dogs were massive. One cop tried to tase the dog dog. He wouldnt stop so he ended up dispute shooting him. Reporter one of the dog owners suffered a bite. A man on bike and another map walking past the scene were bit as well. Animal control grabbed the other dogs after the one pitt was killed. The dog bite victims were all rushed over to Hahnemann University hospital. Neighbors say they have never had a problem before with any of the pits. They would always bark when i walked by but they never tried to escape or anything. Reporter in the meantime, this incident is under investigation. We did try to talk with the owners of the dogs. We knock on their doors but we did not get an answer tonight. Joyce . Thank you dave. Philadelphia detectives are searching for the gunman wanted for the murder of a limo driver. Police found the 24yearold man shot in the back of the head inside a chrysler 300. It happened on the 5400 block of delancey street just after 7 00 last night much the driver died right there on the scene. Right now theres no word on who shot him or why. Heres something that started out as a small effort on social media and boy did word spread would look at that crowd. Thousands lining the streets of Delaware County all they wanted to do was say thanks to the men and women that they believe are getting a bad rap. People were lined up for more than a mile long two or three deep to show their support for Police Officers. They werent here to march. They are not here to protest. They were here to say thank you. Theyre great. Upper darby is great. Reporter what started as a single Facebook Post three weeks ago it started about 30 people. Reporter grew larger and larger. Amanda, works for the Delaware County sheriffs office. She helped organize the rally and by Late Afternoon 3,000 people lined Baltimore Pike the line stretching more than a mile and a half long. I wanted to cry tears of joy. It was amazing. And just people going by you can hear with the horns. I am absolutely 100 just amazed. Reporter they came from every corner of Delaware County. Young and old two and four legged supporters. Its great. Its a wonderful thing. Reporter some here say cops are getting a bad rap and it was time to speak up. With all thats going on, nonsupport up in new york, i think thats why were here to show our side of things. And that all lives matter. We have a lot of support out there in the different communities. And this just end hasnted the strength of that support. Reporter most who came here were not police or even family members of Law Enforcement. Just all Law Enforcement to know we have their back. You heard chris mention there those two new York City Police officers murdered while on duty. Well today the second officer was laid to rest. Funeral services were held in brooklyn for officer wenjian liu liu. He officer Raphael Ramos were ambushed two weeks ago shot sitting inside their cruiser. Investigators say the shooter acted in retaliation for the Police Killings of Michael Brown and eric garner. Since the officers were murdered there has been heated tension between many Police Officers and new york city mayor. At todays services a big reminder that that tension has not yet been resolved. Well have a full report coming up on that a little later in this newscast. Elsewhere Philadelphia Police arrived to the scene of a car crash to discover the victim in the car had actually been shot. This all happen just after 3 00 this morning on the 3700 block of dell high street in north philadelphia. Investigators say the driver of a mini van struck three parked cars before comeing to a stop and then when officers checked on that 39yearold man they noticed he had been shot in the chest. The driver side right there at the scene. So far no word on who shot him. No tonight were waiting for the results of an autopsy on shane montgomery. Hes the 21yearold man who had been missing since left a bar in manayunk the night before thanksgiving. Well his parents say divers did pull his body out of the Schuylkill River yesterday. In the meantime so many prayers it is a sunday and members of his parish say their support for the family will continue now more than ever. Brad satin has the story. They never gave up looking and neither did the water search teams trying to find shane since thanksgiving morning. His body discovered in about 4 feet of water by the garden state underwater recovery team. These volunteers had been out searching repeatedly improved water visibility helped them to locate shane this time. On facebook his family thanked the community while acting for time to previously grieve. The family has closure now. Were happy that they have that. It said in part west chester grieves today at the loss of this vibrant young man who touched the lives of so many. Reporter Authorities Say that miracle sevenyearold girl walk away with only a broken arm after her familys airplane crashed in southwest kentucky friday night. For the first time, were seeing images of the crash site. Investigators say sailor getzlers father told air Traffic Control he was having engine problems he lost contact shortly before 6 00 p. M. Thats when something went terribly wrong. She new from that point something to the effect that the plane was upside down. Her family on board was unresponsive. She realized her non injured arm and hand free herself from the aircraft. Reporter Authorities Say sailor got out of the plane which had a small fire burning caused by the crash. Navigated tough terrain in the freezing rain while wearing shorts and tshirts and finally found Larry Wilkins house. She told me that her parents were dead. I asked her how she knew that. And she said i tried to i tried to wake them up and i couldnt wake them up. Reporter sailors parents marty and kimberly died in the crash along with her nineyearold sister and cousin. Everyone was stabbed in their seats except for the father. Its unclear if he had his seat belt on. Sailor was taken to the hospital where a family medical showed up and took her home.
