After he was gunned down in his suv wednesday afternoon just blocks from his home. I want people to realize they took my sons life today. Reporter it happened in the 4,000 block of howl land street. Neighbors heard a burst of gunfire and came out to find him shot behind the the wheel of his suv right in the mill of the block. He died a half an hour later leaving behind his son, his father and mother, as well as two sisters. I know theres people in that block they see something. Reporter Police Cologne had just pulled on to the block for some unknown reason he stopped in the middle of the block. Detectives say his window was down when the gunman approached and opened fire. Today was my son, tomorrow can be yours. Just shocked. Surprised. Ive never seen figure like that. Reporter several neighbors heard the shots they were stunned by the murder. There are lots of children living on this block. And a local daycare a few doors away from the shooting scene. Horrified. This could happen to anybody. I cannot wait until i have the money man to move on. Really im, you know, i dont know what to do. Reporter crime scene investigators checked the street for shell casings but found none. No weapon was recovered. Homicide detectives found several surveillance cameras on the street. Colognes father is hoping the cameras captured a shot of his sons killer. As a parent i was scared, and i feel sorry for the girl that did get stabbed. Reporter montgomerys daughter says she saw the whole thing. I saw the girl, she had she was bleeding. She was scratched up and her shirt was ripped. Reporter victim was rushed to einstein and got stitches. Emotional aunt of the suspect says her niece was constantly bullied and victim, too. Why are you so upset. Because shes a little girl. She doesnt know anything. Like ive been through it. She does not know anything all because of one school. Reporter police and School Officials acknowledge this was ongoing dispute that turned violent. They were physically fighting which ended up in the student stabbing the other student with scissors. Reporter heartbreaking vigil tonight for families who have lot of loved ones to violence in Delaware County. She was murdered on may 13, 22015. Reporter can light and dozens of grieving families. A picture of lives gone too soon hanging in the Delaware County courthouse each family missing someone special present add rose after the reading of a special message about life taken. This is another step closer to justice for nay nan. We have to remember mason and remember other children. Reporter family of mason hunt beautiful bright eyed twoyearold boy was killed last year was there. His mother and boyfriend are standing trial in his murder. Investigators say a staff at sharons daycare in lehigh township but the baby down for a nap and left her up supervised for 25 minutes. They found her unresponsive and she died at the hospital. Reporter yeah, guys, School Resource officer here at Mitchell Elementary in southwest philadelphia says he was so fed up with kids getting in trouble at school, sick seeing them get arrested by police, he decided to do something about it. If you grew up a young male in southwest philadelphia, chances are youve had a run in with police. You got to get your homework done thats the main thing. Reporter not a run in like this. At mitchell Elementary School resource officer donald lewis doesnt make arrests, he makes men. All you guys have awesome attitudes, right . These young guys deserve a chance and im trying my best to help them give them that chance they deserve. Reporter they are called the men of mitchell teenagers some who dont have fathers themselves who have committed to become role models and leaders in their school. Kids will bully us or say were not this and were not that were not cool but total opposite. Reporter the seven men of mitchell have quickly become big men on campus. Sporting shirts and ties, they mentor younger kids and meet after school for peer mediation. Oh, and then theres the time they surprised their principal with flowers just because she was doing a good job. This has become something that has become a real source of pride for our school. Reporter the new principle says the program has now drawn interest from the entire school, a big turn around for what was one of the citys poorest performing schools. I think theyre such a negative stereotype on kids in the city. When if theyre given a chance to put just as energy hoot positive theyre able to do so. Reporter for these guys its not only representing their school, but their community. Were leading the school to Better Things in life so more kids will come and get great education at the school. Animal control officials on the scene of south jersey horse farm after Community Members voiced their concerns bout animals health. Fox 29 was there as its new jersey spca cherry hill animal control and state agriculture visited these horses. Other horse rescue agencies were concerned about the weight of the horses but the owner says the animals are rescues and hes trying to help the horses. When i get them like that i got to nurse them back to health and it takes time. You cant pack weight on an animal thats 1200 pounds in a short time. The spca issued a warning for failure to provide proper care and making sure a vet checks out the animals within a week. Theyre looking for answers after a truck towed their pop up camper from right in front of their home. Apparently somebody had reported it as abandoned which has the couple even more confused. Reporter joe mcgregor shows me the damage he believes was done to his coleman pop up camper when it was towed from in front of his home monday afternoon. He says he had seen the camper right out there on distant street as he prepared to walk the dog. After a brief distraction he open the front door and, nothing. But a space. And some scrape marks where the camper had been dragged off. You think its stole glenn. We think its stolen mime husband calls me at work highly upset, hes hysterical. Somebody stole the camper. Reporter they say theyre camper had been park out front of their home 51 weeks a year for the past five years without incident or complaint. Then someone apparently called the police to report it abandoned. When the cop who came by look at the vehicle and saw that it was registered, and to pull up the address had to see twenty two right in front of the address it was registered to why would he allow it to stay on the abandoned vehicle list. Joe found out what had happened and recovered the camper but he was charged 175 for the towing and 50 bucks for two days storage. Despite the fact he reclaim the camper in less than 24 hours.
