And husband and wife bert and angel fox are feeling pretty well. Much better than i was two days before the surgery. Im giving it to him. Reporter both were prepped for surgery on wednesday. What they do is they make sure that they see the kidney and make sure that its viable and okay before they cut me open to put it in. Reporter angels left kidney was viable,. Doctors removed it and implanted it in her husband two hours later. As you know he had a liver transplant in the past, and this will aid in the longevity of the liver working. Reporter this was berts second go around with organ transplant. He had a liver transplant 30 years ago and was healthy. So much so he competed annually in the National Transplant games. But eventually the meds used to help his body accept the new liver caused his kidneys to start failing. When i found out that he wasnt doing that good, i was like i was like oh, no, here we go again, you know, but then when i found out she was match, it was the best thing in the world. Because its like were going to be able to be a family all of us.
