Our Chris Oconnell has been on the story since the bombshell announcement from authorities and joins us live from bensalem now. Chris . Reporter guys, he is accused of raping three girls, one of them as young as four years old. These allegations are more than 12 years old, but Bensalem Police say tonight they are happy this guy is off the streets and the worst part about the suspect was youth football coach for six years. Hey, shannon, what do you say to those little girls who they say you raped . 47yearold shannon Sean Westmoreland in handcuffs not saying word after being charged with unspeakable crimes. Westmoreland is accused of of the Sexual Assault and rape of three girls from 1999 to 2011. It wasnt until today that he was arrested. Police say westmoreland started raping a fouryearold girl over the course of six years at this colonial of a home. Bensalem police say another girl was raped at six years old. Then again 12 years later. One assault occurred in 2005 when sean was a football coach at bensalem ramblers football here in bensalem township. Reporter Police Showed off pictures of westmoreland looked like when he was coaching for six years witness bensalem ramblers Youth Football Team when we went to his most recent address, a door was slammed in our pace. Police say westmoreland was a coach from 1999 to 2005 where his exwife still serves as league president. Nothing like this is warranted when you hear about Something Like that its appalling. Its not something you want to hear. Especially when youre part of an organization. Lost. Reporter summer practice canceled the very day brian started his first day as coach with the ramblers. He didnt know westmoreland and doesnt like the attention that it puts on his kids. Its shocking. But at the same time i mean its over a decade ago. You know what i mean . Tonight prosecutors are not saying why the arrest came so many years later but they also warn there could be more victi victims. My fervent prayer and hope that there are no other victims. It is my fear that there may so be. It happened just before 7 30 at six montgomery in north philadelphia. Someone shot the 31yearold victim in the head, the back and shoulder. They have recovered two of the get away cars used in these gun point robberies and tonight we do have the first pictures of some of the suspects. Its the first look at the suspects police now believe are involved in a violent Armed Robbery spree stretching from upper darby to west philadelph philadelphia. Five jobs, guns used, two cars taken, one crashed. Dangerous individuals. Reporter detectives say two female suspects and at least one male have been robbing cab drivers, dominos Delivery Drivers and people on the street at gun point. Police have now recovered the 2013 hyundai sonato used as the get away car in connection with a series of armed robberies. The Pennsylvania Senate has advanced a bill that would require employees pass a psychological evaluation and meet certain Firearms Training requirements. Supporters say the bills an added layer of protection. But a number of education groups are calling it dangerous. The Philadelphia Federation of teachers called todays vote quote reprehensible. Investigators believe a driver hit him and kept going. It was just before 11 00 oclock at night. It was a night that had heff vo rain. Reporter christopher lived with his fee an sea three blocks from where he was found. Tuesday the Prosecutors Office put out plea for anyone with new information on what happened to come forward. Its just torn the family apart. Its been hard to heal. Reporter christophers death even harder to accept because five years before the family of five siblings lost their oldest brother david in a bizarre accident. He severed his spine running and playing football in park and was left paralyzed until he died. We were still healing over losing my big brother in 2010, and that was a traumatic event. Reporter in her mind kaepernick can still see christophers blue eyes and big smile. But she also remembers his battle with the demons of drug addiction. She says through his recovery, though, he taught her about mistakes and forgiveness. They probably couldnt have affected a more understanding family. We have all really made some bad choices, and i know in my heart christopher would forgive the person. Reporter and this is a tough one. Theres no description of the car and no witnesses. Hes hoping to start a movement using the color of heroin, brown and white, to remove the shame and stigma that gripped the addicted and their entire fami family. Go on instagram today. Left our set checking back with him after he heard from one particularly grieving mother she said, when you said your son was tired, tired of figh fighting, she said that hit a core with me and she said, im so happy that now my son has a voice. Reporter but luke, jr. , stresses he wants no recogniti recognition. Still, he expects harsh comments as well. So i take hits. I dont care. You know, it is what it is. It needs to be done. Someone needs to just start a conversation and thats all i want to do. Reporter especially he says since there are so many people perpetuating the stigma through online rants going viral. Thats why these people that lost these children and loved ones are afraid to come out. Im not afraid. Ill stand toe to tow to him any day. Reporter for even more impact luke wants people to post pictures of a loved one they lost to opioid and heroin addiction in store windows, and send them to lawmakers, too.
