Developing to night the National WeatherService Confirms tornado hit Chester County. People who live in honey brook saw it heading for them and took cover. Twister tour roofs right off homes, trees are down. Fences knocked over and homeowners survived something they will never forget. You could see it. It wasnt just a little vapor deal coming down. It was circling. We could see the debris from this area being sucked up into the funnel and then redistribute redistributed. It was pretty scary. Not every day you get that close to a tornado. The National Weather service says the damage shows the winds that whipped through the area were swirling. Meteorologists look at what happened to four homes in honey brook before calling yesterdays weather event tornado. Could the same hold true in Lehigh County . Reporter well, by the looks of it, it was but the National Weather service was up here the same crew that was down in Chester County came up here to Lehigh County, and theyre telling us tonight there was no evidence of a tornado. But Straight Line winds did reach in excess of 80 miles an hour and this is the evidence you see. More trees down. The good news tonight is most peoples power is getting restored. But you see behind me the mess is still going to be a long time to clean up. The 50foot ash tree on birch street became a mini tour rest attraction in Whitehall Township. Piece by piece branch by branch tree crews were methodically removing this massive tree that fell on a mans home during yesterdays storm. Neighbors heard it come down. They basically look at some of the damage they look at some of the structures as well as the tree damage. But with Straight Line wind damage most of the debris and some of the damage with the trees they lie in the same pattern. However, with tornado wind damage its more kind of a random more chaotic pattern and direction. So lets talk little before the about the area that is saw the street line winds. Packing winds of about 95 Miles Per Hour so as we take look at that enhanceed fugita scale itsy eighths low end tornado that damage has been done across the area there. As we look at ultimate doppler mainly quite a few isolateed popups right now in south jersey moving out of we are land county moving into parts of Atlantic County continuing to watch some of those downpours across the area and as we move ahead to tomorrow, it looks like partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies across the area but some rainfall will develop in parts of south jersey as well as delaware.
