Mayor kenney wants to spend a quarter billion dollars over the next five years to expand pre kinder garr tepp programs in philadelphia. 56 million to rebuild the citys parks and recreation centers. And another thirty nine million to create Community Schools that add health and social Service Programs to the basics of education. We can give our citizens all of those things with just one tax. And i know that one tax can make some very wealthy and very powerful people very very upset. The tax a 3cent per ounce levee on non diet sodas, sports drinks and sweetened teas and juices. It would be paid by the distributor of those drinks and no surprise the big distributors and the men and women who make those deliveries are upset. The family of a man in wheelchair shot and killed by Wilmington Police is now suing the Police Department and the city. The civil rights lawsuit filed today in superior court claims that officers involved september shooting of Jeremy Mcdole violated use of force policyies. A bystanders phone footage showed police repeatedly telling mcdole to drop his weapon and raise his hands. It also shows mcdole reaching toward his waist before shots erupted.
