Now to developing story out of center city after nearly a year long grand jury investigation, the Philadelphia District attorney announcing charges today in a 2014 triple homicide investigators say several key pieces of said lead them to one of the alleged killers. Fox 29s dawn timmeney joins us in the newsroom. Dawn this was a hard case because witnesses werent cooperating . Reporter thats right, iain. Investigators say cell phone records, ballistics evidence and an atm card all led them to Quadir Jeffreys. They say this grand jury investigation helped them build their case so they were finally able to charge jeffreys with these excution style murders that happened two years ago. The victims were shot at close range inside this house on the 6300 block of martins mill road in northeast philadelphia. It was february 13th, 2014. Kerlin charles, Brian Williams and freemont found with bullets in theirs heads. Each of the three victims were shot excution style contact gunshot wounds to the right item loral lobe. Reporter two were bound in the Home Invasion robbery. Charles was selling pot out of his house. They say jeffreys and Corey Thompson awaiting trial in the triple murders knew that. They were in contact with one another before he let them into the house and once they got in the house, they had other plans. Reporter after a year and a half investigation into jeffreys, the das office calling for an investigating grand jury which determined murder charges should be brought against the 24yearold. The gun was big part. There were two firearms used in the martins mill murder thats what the ballistics evidence shows. Investigators were able to link one of those guns a 9millimeter to jeffreys by way of a Home Invasion in hunting park almost a month earlier. Fired cartridge cases from the scene matched a fired cartridge case from the scene of a horrific Home Invasion shoo shooting just 26 days prior for which jeffreys was convicted. Reporter investigators say information from his cell phone put him at the scene of the crime. We looked at his cell phone records. We look at his mothers cell phone records. We look at girl friends cell phone records. We look at the patterns they went through and who he spoke to, who he associated with. Reporter investigators also say evidence shows jeffreys used one of the victims atm cards after the murders. It took a lot of connecting of the dots to put this case together, but as i said, all of the the roads kept leading back to Quadir Jeffreys. Prosecutors say jade france Franklin Township choked the baby girl with her bare hands until she died then she hit the body. Prosecutors charged her with murder, concealing human remai remains. District attorney John Morganelli charging 32yearold gary foley, jr. With homicide, prosecutors say in february of 2015 foley called 911 said the baby was not breathing. Police say foley told them he was feeding the young girl a hotdog she began to choke. An autopsy later found the infant died of a skull fracture. Her death was ruled a homicide and investigators say inside the mobile home of the babys mother with three other children at the time of the incident. Mr. Foley was the only person in control of the child. Were sure the injuries were serious injuries that could not have been inflicted accidentally. So theres definitely a recklessness or up tension al act on the part of the caregiver in this case. The babys mother heather surrogate was not home at the time. Investigators say conditions inside the home were deplorable. Both foley and surrogate are now facing child endangerment char charges.
