Bash agrees since so many people do it handing out tickets for texting and walking might be difficult if not impossible to enforce. Just from my studies and how difficult it is to observe these masses of people crossing the street i can only imagine how hard it would be to enforce such a legislation when you have what seems like a mob of people crossing the street at one time. In addition to that 50 fine violators of the texting and walking law could also get up to 15 days in jail. More than 100 Philadelphia Police officers moving up the ranks today. In less than 48 hours, spring will be here and so will snow. Can you believe it . Chief meteorologist Scott Williams tell us what will happen in 15 seconds. Yes, we are looking ahead to the up coming weekend. A spring noreaster. Its been mild today but pretty blustery. So lets break down the timeline of what to expect. Mainly during the day on sunday, that snow will begin early in the morning on sunday. Its going to mix with some rain, some wet snow, so much of it will not stick during the day. So were looking at that rain and snow combination pretty much the entire day on sunday. Then sunday night into early monday whats left of that snow is going to change all over to snow as those temperatures drop and were looking at a couple of inches before all is said and done mainly on the grassy surfaces. So pretty quite right now. There were few sprinkles towards sections of the poconos mountains look at this moisture off to the west. Thats headed in our direction. Mainly for the second half of the weekend. So its not unusual to have some snow during the month of march. But it is going to accumulate into slushy totals across parts of the area. More mixing though in parts of south jersey as well as delaware and then more snow north and west i95. So look ahead to tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures well above freezi freezing. There might be a little bit of light rain trying to move in by late saturday night into central southern sections of delaware as well as south jersey but heres 8am on sunday. Most of the precipitation still to the south and look at those temperatures below or at freezing north and west. Above freezing along the i95 corridor. So by noon on sunday were looking at some rain and wet snow. But look at the temperatures in the mid to upper 30s its not going to stick during the day on sunday. Also, take look. South jersey, sections of delaware, its mainly just rain during the day and then i95 north and west were still looking at some of that wet sn snow. Still having a hard time sticking because of that strong march sun angle. But watch the clock. By 8 00 p. M. Those temperatures start to drop. Were still looking at some snow across the area. That lingers into your monday morning rush. And thats when that snow should accumulate. The computer models have been all over the place but starting to come in line with really just minor accumulations anywhere from a little over half an inch the gfs model up to 2inches the european model. So heres my forecast as we talk a little bit about what to expect mainly going into your early monday morning time frame less than an inch. Parts of south jersey. I95 north and west a slushy one to 3inches mainly on those grassy surfaces. Temperatures have been pretty mild right now. 63 degrees. But tonight those temperatures drop and take look at saturdays high only 47 degrees. Upper 30s on sunday. And then temperatures early next week chilly before we rebound well above average back into the upper 60s, low 70s by the latter part of next week. Everybody is tal talking abot the snow, scott. Not unusual. Its been a crazy winter. It really has. March madness in the weather department. All right. Thanks, scott. Mom is under arrest tonight for keeping her kids home from school.
