According to the District Attorneys Office this is not the first time a neighbor has pulled a gun on his next door neighbor. This time, however, it ended up with one man dead and another behind bars. I heard at least one maybe two gunshots. Reporter it was about 1 00 e time jack made his way to the door of his home in the 300 block of box helder drive in west goshen he knew something was terribly wrong. Probably five or six police cars, an ambulance, um, the whole street was lit up. Reporter just two doors down, his 51yearold neighbor brooks jennings lay dead in his yard. Police say his neighbor Clayton Carter who he had a long standing dispute with shot and killed him following another argument between the two men. Did you ever sense that their dispute would escalate to Something Like this . Well, it crossed my mind because its abundantly aware in the neighborhood that clayton owned firearms. So, yes. Reporter police had been called to the home several hours earlier. They say over cursing and video recording in the backyard. But in the dark of night, things got ugly again. Very ugly. Police say carter pulled his car on to his lawn boarding the two homes shining his beams at the victim detectives say he got out of his car and the argument escalated. Police say carter shot jennings once in the head and then stood over the body and shot him a second time in the head as jennings wife watched in horror from a second floor window. Everybody liked brooks. He was a nice guy. Clayton other guy, um, he he was a little bizarre. He had these signs in his yard saying, you know, how can you tell when donald trump is lying, when his lips are moving. Many cannot believe it ended like this. Hell be missed. Now police say that carter did admit to shooting his neighbor brooks jennings but says that jennings threatened him with 95. Police say he didnt have any injuries.
