According to the District Attorneys Office this is not the first time a neighbor has pulled a gun on his next door neighbor. This time, however, it ended up with one man dead and another behind bars. I heard at least one maybe two gunshots. Reporter it was about 1 00 e time jack made his way to the door of his home in the 300 block of box helder drive in west goshen he knew something was terribly wrong. Probably five or six police cars, an ambulance, um, the whole street was lit up. Reporter just two doors down, his 51yearold neighbor brooks jennings lay dead in his yard. Police say his neighbor Clayton Carter who he had a long standing dispute with shot and killed him following another argument between the two men. Did you ever sense that their dispute would escalate to Something Like this . Well, it crossed my mind because its abundantly aware in the neighborhood that clayton owned firearms. So, yes. Reporter police had been called to the home several hours earlier. They say over cursing and video recording in the backyard. But in the dark of night, things got ugly again. Very ugly. Police say carter pulled his car on to his lawn boarding the two homes shining his beams at the victim detectives say he got out of his car and the argument escalated. Police say carter shot jennings once in the head and then stood over the body and shot him a second time in the head as jennings wife watched in horror from a second floor window. Everybody liked brooks. He was a nice guy. Clayton other guy, um, he he was a little bizarre. He had these signs in his yard saying, you know, how can you tell when donald trump is lying, when his lips are moving. Many cannot believe it ended like this. Hell be missed. Reporter Lonnie Anderson was 18 years old in 2009 heading off to the Army Reserves and nursing school. Wrapping up his duties at church and looking out for his Little Sisters when he wasnt playing video games with his buddy across the street. We heard gunshots. Reporter Sharon Anderson had no idea. I fund him on the ground. A bullet met for somebody else. The graduate wouldnt make it. But his organs were in perfect condition much his mom and his sisters had a decision to make. We talked it over. I asked him is it all right with them, um, they said sure. Whatever you want. Figure that somebody else could use it to save somebody else life. Reporter a lot of somebody got organs from kevin. The heart recipient thats kevin. They all reached out to lonnies family through the get of life. I just want to say thank you. It was wonderful. It came at a time when we were still in shock. And they reached back. Writing help the pain. I guess it seems like we conne connecting to lonnie. Reporter 11yearold daughter of a man who received lonnies lungs wanted more. Im marley. Seven years later, just three months ago now, the andersons traveled to West Virginia to visit brian stover his wife sherri and little marley. Who they surprised at her graduation. They also got to feel lonnies lungs working. God bless you lonnie. Im happy that i can give them that little bit of comfort compared to the loss that theyve had to endure. Lonnies spirit lives on, and its still exists. And we get to see it. We get to hear it threw whoever is carrying the spirit. Extended family for us. Reporter but the families in pain again. Insurance issues left brian with out his anti rejection medications for a month. He told us and sharon the lungs and failing. Doctors have done the math they think i have around 25 of my lung capacity left. Reporter you need a donor quickly. Yeah. Because theyre failing fast. Reporter lonnies family is now praying for brian who may get another call any day now. Hes a goodman who is treating his organs, hes treating his body preciously and he just wants to live. We always going to be family. Reporter brian says hes moving up the donor list faster than he thought and he has no intentions of leading his immediate and new found families any soon. Let take to you texas a shocking Investigation Underway after a woman involved in a car accident is allegedly robbed and the culprit, she says, was her own Good Samaritan. Now the victim was driving when another car hit hers. Sending hers spinning out of control. She says a woman pulled over to help her then took her cash and prescription painkillers right from her purse. A lady an gentleman pulled over and she was like, oh, my god, im so sorry. Are you okay . Um, and she got into the passenger side of my car. Now once she was loaded into the ambulance, she noticed something was missing from her bag. Tonight shes claiming her Good Samaritan was the only person who had it. Not such a Good Samaritan after all. We are less than two weeks away from the total Solar Eclipse. And its no doubt something that a lot of folks want to witness since this time of eclipse is a once in a lifetime event of course. Party at lucys house. Michelle chavez explains how you can stay safe while you capture that very special moment. Reporter people all over the country are getting ready for august 21 accident when that Solar Eclipse will make its way across the country. So were here at the Carnegie Science Center with tips on the best ways to get a good look at that eclipse and get a great photo. The Science Center says you might want to think twice before you look up or snap a picture. Thats very dangerous because thats focusing light on that you can harm your eyes, um, and also could ruin your phone or camera. Reporter here are four ways to safely see the eclipse. Number one, use nasa approved eclipse viewing glasses. Theres never safe to look directly at the suns rays even if the moon is blocking part of the sun. Reporter number two, you can use a cereal box to get a photo of the eclipses reflection. Make a pinhole at the front of a cereal box, cut out a hole that you can view through youre not viewing through the opinion but rather threw this larger hole here. A strip of white paper you place in the back and you can actually look through this hole at a projection of the partial Solar Eclipse. You can take your phone and point it into your pinhole projector and take an image of that projection you made of the Solar Eclipse. Reporter number three, its just like the cereal bock but this time youre using a postcard. Punch a pinhole in the center of a postcard like this one and project an image of the eclipse on to a light piece of paper. And then you can look at the projection of the eclipse on that piece of paper. Reporter or how about a cole lander . During a partial Solar Eclipse, you wont actually see those circles. What youll see are crescent shapes on the piece of paper because the moon will be covering most of the sun. Reporter now that its cloudy you wont be able to see the eclipse at all but nasa will be streaming it live on their website. In pittsburgh, michelle chavez, fox news. I want those glasses. Because this time around the Main Attraction was familiar wholl was there to see the show. So whats going on . Well foxs rob malcolm explains. Reporter as usual, the crowds were treat to do an entertaining show at the sea lion stadium at six flags. For the Thomas Family it all appeared to be an ordinary show they would soon learn this wouldnt be an ordinary day. The new guy super cool uniform. Hiding in the park for much of the day Technical Sergeant jacob thomas. Suddenly appeared on stage. Deployed in kuwait the past six months, he delighted his family and on this day even 21yearold sea lion didnt take offense to being up staged. Stationed at nearby Travis Air Force base Sergeant Thomas landed sunday afternoon at 1 00 p. M. He headed directly to the park to be reunited with his family of five. 91 of them saw this coming. I was talking to my little sister and i my stepmom says look look look. I look up and i just seen my dad. It was pretty crazy. I was more concerned about the kids. Not myself. I didnt this was all for them. Its not for us. So all this attention isnt im not used to this. So [ laughter ] family and friends given vip treatment. Front row seating. No waits in line and a full day at the park where they would later visit other animals. I think it went great. Theyre all extremely happy. So im happy, theyre happy. Were all happy that hes home. While a 500pound sea lion was the Main Attraction it was a heart warming reunion that really stole the show. Once we learned about their story and what they wanteed to through operation care and comfort and Travis Air Force base, we knew it was great opportunity to show our appreciation.
