Firefighters were able to contain the flames at their home in the oak crest estates. The only damage is to a second floor bedroom. As we proceeded to search the room we located what we thought was a clothes basket with puppies in it. At the time we found out it was a plastic swimming pools. We handed out to another member on the stairwell and they brought them outside. All okay. What started the fire is still under investigation. Because of the extensive damage. Theyve been renting and finally got word just yesterday that federal money to make all happen has come through. You wait and you wait and you wait and you wait and you dont understand why it takes so long. I think its going to happen now. And so were optimistic. But its been very frustrating. Reporter a little light at the end of a very long tunnel. In Long Beach Island, dawn timmeney, fox 29 news. Back to your fox 29 Weather Authority right now. Scott, it is going to be a crazy busy day. Yeah, thats right. Were talking about a lot of changes over the neck several days. But you know its hard to believe that two years ago today we were watching super storm sandy making landfall right around 8 00 oclock just north of atlantic city. You can see ultimate doppler from two years ago showing you those rain bands, the gusty winds and certainly the devastate station that it left behind. Right now, a much quieter scenario. Not tracking any tropical storms or hurricanes but we are tracking a cold front thats moving through right now. With a thin ribbon of light showers most of the activity right now is down the shore. Atlantic city, ocean city, moving toward avalon, Sea Isle City just a few spring kills. This isnt heavy rainfall and most of it will be diminishing over the next thats right minutes to an hour or so. But look at the High Temperature today. 70 degrees. Well above the normal for this time of year which is 62. But look at the temperatures right now. The high was 70. Were in the 50s right now in philadelphia. In the 40s in the pocono mountains so temperatures have been dropping. Compared to this same time yesterday, 16 degrees colder in philadelphia. Almost 20 degrees colder in the pocono mountains. Heres the front as it continues to push down the shore with those leftover clouds and showers across the area. For your thursday, were talking sunshine, a few clouds mixing in. It will be noticeably cooler during the day tomorrow. Highs only around 60. Thursday night its quite moving toward friday. Sunshine to start but clouds will be on the increase for your halloween and should stay dry for your trick or treating but watch what happens friday night into saturday. Were watching a disturbance an area of low pressure that will transition its energy to the coast. And develop into a potent noreaster. Were talking wind and rain for us. Wet snowflakes potentially toward the tail end of it but the coldest air will be farther to the south and also west towards sections of West Virginia as well as the mountains of the shenandoah valley. Were looking at the greatest threat for accumulating snowfall according to the european model which i think is pretty much on target with this storm system. So for saturday, cloudy and windy, scattered showers arriving. Saturday night, winds gusting over 30 miles per hour. Rain changes over to wet snowflakes late primarily for the pocono mountains. And then sunday, improving conditions as that storm pulls a way but it stays chilly. Temperatures tonight bottom out in the 40s across the area. So definitely colder than last into the and tomorrow only in the upper 50s for High Temperatures. The seven day forecast will show you upper 50s on halloween. It will be a wet and windy temple game. Temperatures only in the 40s. And then dont forget to fall back this weekend. Sunday temperatures in the upper 40s and we moderate as we move toward tuesday and wednesday of next week. So the break down for the halloween forecast its going to be cloudy, creepy, mostly spooky temperatures are going to be in the 50s and falling throughout the evening but once again the rain is going to hold off until saturday with that noreaster. Okay. Good news for halloween. Yeah. laughter . Thats all right. I
