Fattah of course a member of congress for over two decades prior to that he spent about a decade in harrisburg as a state representative and senator. The question tonight is, what will his legacy be . Many seem to think he will indeed be remembered for the difference he made over the years in the Community Helping kids get to college, homeowners saddled with debt, however, most we spoke with do say that as a result of this conviction and his inability to vote in congress, he should step down. His fellow democrat philly congressman bob brady has known fattah for decades. We had a chance to talk to him by phone while he was headed to d. C. This afternoon. He says fattahs decision to step down has to be his but like many he is disappointed. Ive known him for 30 years. That was my legislative and my senator and my congressman and i never thought at one point in time ever that he would ever do anything wrong. You know, im as shocked to hear these charges and now saddened to hear the verdict. I guess i didnt want to believe it. So, you know, things are happening everywhere and you give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and youre hoping that the things that they present arent true, but its live. He is very much liked. Like i said hes done a lot for the community, but if hes not able to vote to help the community out any more, hes actualingly doing nothing in the position any more. Someone else should step in and take over. Reporter after 11 terms in congress, fattah did lose his bid for reelection back in april. Now in november last year jury found his son chip fattah, jr. , guilty on charges of bank and tax fraud n february a judge sentenced him to five years in prison. Jurors found he took part in a scheme as a sub contractor to defraud the Philadelphia School district. Develop to go night, Philadelphia Police have charged a second woman in connection to that brutal murder of a 26yearold tori bryant. A couple on a walk found her body a week ago today in fairmount park. Police say she had been shot and stabbed and now police say they have the two women behind the crime. Reporter iain, police charging that second woman this afternoon 28 year Shantel Smith. They say they she was the woman behind this horrific crime admit to go everything when questioned today and investigators say making this all the more disturbing these three women were all apparently friends. She was suffocated, she was stabbed the muddle p. M. Times in the back and ultimately was shot one time in the back of the head. Reporter philadelphia homicide captain james clark says hes investigated a lot of murders, but the brutal killing of 26yearold toy bryant of chester one week ago today was one of the worst. This is probably the most brutal ive seen commit beside a female on female. Reporter today 28yearold Shantel Smith admitted to killing bryant. She and shavonne armstrong are both charged with murder and related offenses. Armstrong turned herself in over the weekend. Bryant was found bound with handcuffs with a glove stuffed down her throat on the 5300 block of georgia hill drive by a couple on their way to work. She may have been tortured along the route from chester to philadelphia but ultimately she was killed in the wooded area behind the man music center. Reporter investigators say the three women all grew up together in the feltonville section of the chester werent supposedly friends. Police say the motive bryant owed her killer money. It was an 800 debt from the one female to the other. And she took it from a debt to murder. It just makes absolutely no sense. Reporter a memorial paying tribute to bryant also known as cash is growing in her chester neighborhood with candles and messages mourning her death. We have very very bad people that are involved and were very very glad to get them off the streets as quickly as possible. Reporter now police are still questioning some other people and more charges could come. Bryants brother charles who did not wanting to on camera says his sister had lots of friends, she was a cheerleader when she was in high school, and he, too, is trying to make sense of this horrible crime. Iain . All right, dawn, thank you. A man has died after police say someone shot him on the streets of frankford. It happened around 11 00 this morning near Bridge Street and torresdale avenue. Police are looking for the person who shot the 28yearold in the chest. Medic rushed him to aria torresdale hospital where he died. No word on a motive. Meantime police find a shrew of weapons inside a tunnel. Cops say they pulled oh over a van inside the hollande tunnel that of course connects new jersey and new york city. A search of the van uncovered all kinds of weapons including loaded guns. Police are arrested three people. The joint Terrorism Task force is investigatin investigating be abundance of caution but Authorities Say the incident is not connected to terrorism. Philadelphia police are looking for two men involved in an Armed Robbery in the citys walnut hill neighborhood. The robbery happened last tuesday at the walnut food market 53rd and walnut. One of the men points a pink and black begun at an employee while the other guy goes behind the counter and police say took 500 bucks before they got away. Both men have tattoos on their arms. If you recognize them, please call police. In harrisburg, with nine days to go until the fiscal year deadline, pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf says budget negotiations are going well. He says the state can meet its goals without a major tax increase. In an interview with pittsburgh Radio Station the governor back away from the increase in sales or income taxes. His priorities are a balanced budget with 250 million increase for Public Schools and 34 million more for heroin addiction programs. The remarks for the first time suggest a shift from a stance hes maintained throughout his first 18 months in office and that added nine month budget impass last fiscal year. New tonight Health Officials in Chester County detector the first case of zika in the coun county. Confirmation coming from the centers for Disease Control and prevention. Officials say the case involved a woman who recently traveled to a zika affected area. She is not pregnant. The Chester County Health Department says the woman did not need stay in the hospital and has recovered. In many cases they begin as broken water pipes below ground. Leak erodes the soil, and the asphalt above caves in on the resulting cavity. Whatever the cause, the street needs to be fixed before somebody gets hurt. All of the neighbors on guard about this hole that wont get fixed. Reporter folks who live and work along the 2900 block of robins street want me to know it is very slowly inch by inch disappearing. Neighbors say that sinking feeling began last october. My husband parked there. He ran in the house. No more than a minute or two. Came back out and hes in a hole. His back tire is in a hole. Reporter calls to the philadelphia Streets Department brought a crew out in november they say. But a parked car made it impossible to get at the growing hole. They said well be out in a couple of days. It wont be tomorrow but it will be a couple of days. I havent seen them since. Reporter doreen groves has seen them shes the crossing guard for the k through eight grade School Across the street. I see the Streets Department trucks come by. They step out of the truck. They look in the hole. They write something down and then they get back in the truck and they leave and nothing is ever done. Now im watching little kids crossing the street and put stuff in there and sticking their heads in there and now im having to constantly come across to say its not safe. Reporter theyre curious. That hole is growing but a visible crack around the perimeter makes it clear a much larger section of street is now weakened. Im afraid of the kids like everybody else getting hurt or falling in it or god for bid theyre walking and the rest of it caves in. Reporter got some good news to report. I got off the phone with the Streets Department a short time ago. Theyre making a final check with the Water Department to make sure there is no ongoing water leak problem under the ground there. For now iain but we still have a couple of cells popping up north and west of all of that line of Severe Weather earlier but nothing like what we dealt with in cape may in kent county along with sussex county. A house with windows blown out. 80mile per hour wind gusts around the cape may area. So considerable damage in several locations. Diminishing showers right now moving out of the chester. That cold front will sweep through. Pushing out the Severe Weather threat so for tomorrow, its sunny and still warm. 86 degrees will be the High Temperature for tomorrow but by thursday, keeping tabs on another Severe Weather threat during the day.
