Holiday Weekend. The worse could be tomorrow morning, dave warren tracking whats left. We start with
Sabina Kuriakose live in wildwood. Reporter hey, iain, right now, the wind is one of the biggest things, also this churning water out there as we in there. You can see how rough the water is swimming were told is not being allowed. In fact, we have seen
Police Officers patrolling up and down the beach to make sure that people are staying out of the water. Telling us the lifeguards are strictly people people away. As you mentioned, rip tides, a huge concern right now. Along with all of that rough water. And you can still see the beach very, very empty right now. We still had folks walking up and down enjoying the sand between their toes. Nobody going into the water. We do have video to show you from the boardwalk where there are people enjoy, the sun and light breeze. We saw good amount of potential especially families who stieded to stay out. But much lighter crowds than were used to. A lot of people were told left early, in fact, people described line getting out of town yesterday. We talked to a lovely
Business Owner here. Owns hot spot in wildwood and he tells us that this is really impacted business because a lot of people left early but again the ones we talked to who did stick around said theyre glad theyd. Everybody was rushing out yesterday, the line of traffic took people like five hours to get home. So we stuck it out. Then we lucked out. We fished all day, went to the beach. And there was no crowds. Sort of makes everybody leave town, nobody came. And people were here, they were afraid
Something Big was going to happen, end up being beautiful. Reporter summers last harah, didnt quite turn out as folks expected. As i mentioned, the weather, despite the water not being open, is actually quite nice out here. A lot of families glad they did stick around. Of course, as you mentioned, coastal flooding still a huge concern, we still have the eyes to the skies going to tomorrow. Subpoena, thank you. Lets check in with dave warren tracking hermine. I dont think it will be as nice there tomorrow. Of course, may not be a direct impact here with the storm, but its trying to turn a little to the north, the latest satellite picture shows the storm popping up closer to the center. Its trying to intensify. Will not completely intensify back to a hurricane. It will remain a post tropical cyclone. But its trying to turn this to the north a bit, and maybe even a little to the northwest. The
National Hurricane center track, nowhere near as the coast of new jersey or delaware, but it does turn it to the north and intensifies it so keeps the intensity as it is. Throughout the day tomorrow, it will be as close as its going to get. Not as close as it is now, thats why the within could pick up and we could see a little rain. Its well out by the middle of the week. This is a huge storm, a large area of
Tropical Storm force wind. Thats the yellow that creates that rough surf, creates the coastal flooding and the rip currents. Thats the dangerous will continue. Look how that gets closer so the within could increase tomorrow out of the north and start to turn to the northwest. That will push all the water been piling up on the back bays out. It does not intensify to hurricane strength. This is by tuesday at 6 00 in the morning, still breezy but start to weaken and move off the off the coast and move into the north atlantic by wednesday and thursday tfrm so the wind gusts, not much now, but you see that color sort of work its way back in, youll notice a bit of a breeze through the date tomorrow at noons by 6 00, 7 00, breezy, wind out of the north, keeps it nice and comfortable but stronger along the coast and starting to turn. Not talking about major record flooding but the highest high tide could be tomorrow morning, 10 00 or 11 00. They happen about 12 hours apart. Minor flooding tonight, tomorrow and maybe some moderate flooding tomorrow afternoon. Ultimate doppler is clear but the storm gets closer, some of those showers could try to affect
Atlantic City and delaware. This will be by, say, 2 00 or 3 00 in the afternoon, maybe a passing shower, certainly not a washout but close enough where its a bit breezy, few more clouds and a passing shower what were dealing with tomorrow. Along the cost, that wind will pick up just a bit and then well see the gusts near 30 miles an hour, maybe some minor to moderate coastal flooding and more clouds and certainly a shower or possible. Now, once the storm clears out well be talking about the heat. But monday and tuesday, breezy. Few more clouds around the area tomorrow starts to clear out tuesday. One nice day this week will be wednesday, not bad, temperature of 88. 72 degrees in the morning. Breeze dies down then we have the heat and humidity coming back, thursday, friday, saturday gets cooler, sunday, a cooler breeze there with temperature of 82, the temperatures if youre still at the shore could heat up by thursday, and friday, look at next sunday, not bad, cool breeze.
