Everyone wondering what will the weather be like for the popes arrival. We have something we need to watch closer to the weekend. You didnt think it would be problem free, did you . It may be, were you there is always a Little Something something to keep an eye on during change of the the season and this is the last full day of summer. So look out to our west and you will see, inn keyed, some rain. Some rain which is moving to the north east, so it is not moving from west to east so we dont expect to see it here in philadelphia. But still were keeping an eye on where this is all happening, we will zoom into Lancaster County and we will see certain part of the county get something rain, parts of the berks county, allentown area, up toward phillipsberg and palmer ton and pocono mountains as well, scattered showers this morning. If that is where you live you you will need your umbrella this morning. For us it is dry and we expect it to stay this way. 65 degrees in philadelphia right now. 7 miles an hour wind out of the north east and 63 percent relative humidity. Sunrise happening at 6 48 this morning. That sunrise getting so close to 7 00 oclock right now. We were keeping our cool yesterday with a High Temperature of only 74 degrees. Cooler air mass in place plus a few crowd but it wasnt that far from the average high which is now down to 76 degrees. Lets see where we are heading today to a high of about 73. We have cloudy skies. And a few, thank you, i got a tada with mostly cloudy skies and a little bit of sunshine. Skies will be around today. We will be down to 59 or 60 degrees tonight. That is your last day of summer forecast. We will start autumn off with some sunshine and give you the rest of the seven kay forecast coming up, thanks, bob kelly, good morning. Sound effect at no extra charge this early in the morning. 4 02, price get kick up at about 5 00 for sound effects. Were in good shapement lots of construction, one of the spots in the jam cam this is route one near Oxford Valley mall. You know where the the mall is, right. Very much so. Right there. Northbound down to one lane, crews should be out of there by five or 5 30. Were in good shape up and over the the benny coming into downtown philadelphia in problems or delays there looking live, vine street expressway, heres the spot on the parkway where they are putting up jumbo trons for big papal visit. They are still working on 295 a work crew on the northbound side as you work your way in to that bellmawr interchange. Parkway close todd vehicle traffic this morning. The it will impact everyone on the Martin Luther king drive, you will be pushed off to the vine street expressway. Coming in on the will kelly drive you are forced on to fairmount. No vehicles up and down the parkway, papal preps, parking restrictions, every day another section goes into shut down mode. Today it is olde citys turn right here tonight at 6 00 all of the signs out front of the station hearsay that the towing operation will begin tonight at 6 00. The read the signs. Very important. The it is all about the timing. I know steve has some information on where you can find your car, if it was towed yesterday, surprise, he is coming up in a second. In problems there. At a the moment coming in the city on the schuylkill or i95 and using mass transit this morning, all aboard we are good to go, september, new jersey transit, patco, amtrak all looking good, chris, back over to you. Breaking news for you out of delaware right now, Delaware County i should say, Fire Fighters on the building fire in the 1100 block of chester avenue in yeadon. Our fox 29s Jennifer Joyce will bring you the very latest on in a live report. In Delaware Police say there were no injuries during a restaurant fire in wilmington overnight. Crews got the macaroni grill in the 4100 block of concord pike after midnight. It werent long before flames were under control. There is no word on the cause of the fire. World meeting of families officially begins today as city preps for pope francis visit. Steve keeley along the parkway with more on this, hi, steve. Reporter report the idea when they tow cars is just like a snow emergency they dont take them down to the impound lot the so you dont get the storage fee. Idea is to try to get your car as close tour home as possible so you can walk and get to it. The so people here in the art museum, the the first zone of cars, that were towed away, ended up finding them in Fairmount Park at sedgley. So, it was a long walk and a lot of people had no idea where their car was and problem they had and complaints they had was what we were told by the the man who was in charge was call that snow emergency number. If you spell out the word snow on your phone you get to it. Problem is you get the recording about snow emergency and it took a while and hit zero a bunch of times to get a human being who told you where your car was. When we talk about the olde city park to go day they will not take the cars that are getting towed from olde city up to Fairmount Park. So there will be a different location today and when we find that we will let you know. My guess since you are close to the the waterfront in olde city perhaps you will be walking down to the Delaware River front somewhere and maybe they have an area where they can take cars and park them there safely. It will be a spot where they can park cars, lot of them usually, and somewhere, where it is walkable. The last night as of the 10 00 t have this set on the ten but we learn it was 76 cars that they towed last night. The that was the update on parked cars. Something else you will see park on the street and one of the reasons why they wanted to create this space days ahead of time why do you need to move all of our cars now, look at all these waters here. This is something new we didnt see yesterday morning that we are seeing all throughout center city this morning. This is a good sign because we talk about yesterday how they were going to limit coolers through security zones and backpack and all that other stuff. We were wondering how will people spend a whole day out of their their feet and maybe in hot water or feeling hot and over heated and dehydrated . Well, this is a whole lot of water but not enough water for a Million People to drink because you need more than one throughout the day but you are seeing water starting to get stack up through center city a lot more space is being taken up, on the sidewalks. Other thing we noticed in the middle of the night is what we talk about yesterday. Lots of people walking in the street because they cant walk on sidewalks. You can see why they are barricaded. If people are crossing the street, if you look at logan square there are no barricade there but if they walk across the street they wouldnt be able to get to the sidewalk, they would have to jump and crawl over the water. Whole lot of stuff going on. Mayor has a big smile on his face and he even noticed all of the changes and so do people Shawnette Wilson talk to last night. She has got some positive vibes. I will stay in the city, i will enjoy it better or for worse. I wouldnt miss it. My sister is coming down. Im having a pope party friday night. Im in the catholic myself but it is a nice thing that the pope is coming. It is an honor that philadelphia was select. It is a privilege. Make your plan, have your plan, come out, enjoy this incredible event and activity. Make sure you have comfortable clothes, clothing, bring some food, some water and other refreshments to keep yourself high traded and have a great time but whatever your plan is, make sure you have a plan so you can enjoy this virtually once in a lifetime historic moment in philadelphia. I have off on friday because they are closing the office and so i have three days to enjoy the celebration. I love this pope. I think he is fabulous. I will be out there on the parkway. Reporter heres other thing we have noticed here at the foot of the parkway, basilica now opened around the clock, 24 7. Why . Because world meeting of families, big event, reason why pope is coming here in the first place that people seem to have forgotten about, that starts today, chris. The we have opening ceremonies and we saw a whole lot of families checking in. You look at the big Sheraton Hotel right behind the basilica, that is probably the closest hotel to the activity. We saw families who made reservations probably two years ago getting here from where ever they were leaving around the world checking in. Big groups of people who spoke no english checking in yesterday afternoon, and last night. We will try to find those folks now. Big opening ceremonies, starting today and that is why the pope is coming in the first place, folks for this world meeting of families. Hopefully we will hear from some of the families taking part in that today. They are excited about the pope but they have their own events for several days before the pope even gets here, chris. Steve keeley, thanks very much. Philadelphia Police CommissionerCharles Ramsey is trying to ease security concerns after a new memo from the state police surfaced. Pennsylvania state Police Release aid warning saying terrorist may be trying to i am person nate police and First Responders to carry out an attack. Memo never specifically mentions the popes visit but with security preps of course for it in the full swing around the city, some are now questioning the timing. This is something we know about, there are in Credible Threats about this events at all. We are always aware and a alert for people who may be trying to i am person nate a member of the public safety. While the memo also warns that uniforms being stolen commissioner ramsey says there is in reason to worry because there will be multiple layers of the security. White house has invited local teacher fired over her same sex marriage to meet the pope. Bonnie winter was a religious instructor at waldron mercy academy. Winters says if given the chance to walk with the pope she would asked to extend his inclusion to gay, by sexual and transgender to catholics. We have everything you need to know, everything right there on our web site at fox 29. Com. Look for links on our home page. Lets turn to this. Tragedy in south philadelphia. Twoyear old boy is dead after being hit by a septa paratransit bus. Family members identified him as mohammad. Police say he was, playing on the sidewalk, the 1700 block of south 21st street, when, he walked into the street. The that is when a septa paratransit bus hit him. He was rushed to the Childrens Hospital where he died a short time later. It is just a child, he was struck by the left front on the vehicle. On the video you can see the child fall to the ground and then paratransit vehicle drives over the twoyear old. Police say the 69 yearold driver is cooperating ape its being screened by the police. Just a horrible accident. Just right now is there less traffic on the road to the white house. Wisconsin Governor Scott walker says he is dropping out of the race. Welcome back. Kids are showing us how excited they are for the popes visit. They decided to spell it all out literally. Drone capture it all at nativity of our lords schools. Students formed the word we love pope francis yesterday afternoon. It took all 485 students, to to it. Birds eye view, hi sue. That is great. It is getting closer and we have a system to watch. We told but this system yesterday and it is our concern for the the weekend this off shore low pressure system which some say is trying to become a tropical storm. Regardless of that, it is something that bears watching, as we get toward the end of the week with High Pressure anchored above us and wind coming down to the north and north east. We can probably guarantee cloud cover. The question is, rain. Now heres the european model that does bring some rain in the area, on sunday, and so does the global model that we also watching as well. That keeps the rain further north, regardless, there is a better chance of rain south and east of philadelphia this weekend but we also know it is irish weekend at wildwood. So, it might rain on you just be prepared for that. Now, as far as our forecast is concerned, were still going with the partly sunny skies, a slight chance of the shower, south and east of this city but for the speech at independent hall, on saturday, it looks pretty good. Partly cloudy for mass on the parkway on sunday at 4 00 oclock and northeasterly breeze with temperatures in the 70s. We will look ahead at the future cast for today and even though we see rain to the west of us we expect things to stay pretty cloudy to day, but also, rain free, and clearing from northwest to south east from tonight the in to tomorrow. So when season changes at 4 21 in the morning it should be cool but comfortable and we will probably warm up to the warmest temperature of the workweek up to 80 degrees and that is where we see clouds moving in. That off shore storm that we have to keep an eye on for thursday, friday and especially friday and saturday of course. So temperatures to the north of us are in the the 50s this morning. We have 61 degrees in trenton. We have 59 in allentown. Sixtyfive in the the city. Sixtythree in mountains. Sixtytwo in wilmington. These temperatures may be a smidge milder then we were yesterday thanks to the cloud cover, a 7mile an hour wind in philadelphia right now, calm wind to the north of us, 6mile an hour breeze out of the north in wildwood, new jersey to start your day. We will continue to watch the coast as we said with that system that is off shore. What it decide to do would be crucial for weather for whatever you happen to be doing this weekend. Seven day forecast has 75 degrees today, of course, yom kippur is tonight and should be dry for that. 80 degrees for tomorrow and then 80 degrees, for thursday, fridays high 77, we are keeping things dry for the weekend so far but we are giving it cloud cover which isnt a bad thing for all of the crowd standing outside for all of those weekend events, and then the sun, not beating down and making it that uncomfortable it looks good so far, sunny and nice on monday, the high of 79. That is it, lah day of summer is here. I have to put my white shoes away, today. 4 18. Hello, malvern, right 202, 29, big spotlights are on as you exit to get your coffee there at wawa at that 29 interchange. Theyre doing some work. Probably until five or 5 30. Ramps are opening, i95 looking good, out of northeast philadelphia, in problems between academy and girard avenue. Boulevard looking good for the gang from the northeast coming down, approaching the schuylkill. We have some construction out here, Yellow Springs road that bridge closed indefinitely here between 252 over to wilson road. We have detours in play. We are in good shape out of downingtown, no problems on the pennsylvania turnpike at least at the moment, good morning, welcome to philadelphia, to everybody in town for world meeting of families. The philly international was extra heavy yesterday and will be so today with flights coming in bringing all of the folks, here for the weekend for the papal visit. North bound 295 construction near that bellmawr interchange at route 42, they are good at getting out by five or 5 30 or so. Ben franklin parkway close todd vehicle traffic in both directions. This is impacting the folks coming in the city this morning and using the drives f you use Martin Luther king drive you are push right on the vine street expressway. If you use kelly drive you have to make the left there at fairmount and that is, of course, steve keeley mentioned where youll finally find your car that was towed from this area yesterday right there off of the kelly drive and sedgley right off of boat house row. Parking restrictions continue. Just read the signs, today, olde city, it is our turn here, tonight at around 6 00 is when they will starting to cars off of the streets here. Chris, back over to you. Mr. Kelly, thank you. 4 20. Major candidate has dropped out of the president ial race as we hear from steep rapport the the republican field has narrowed but not by very much.
