Looking at radar, we see some thunderstorms in the central part of the state. Well see if any of that reaches here. We are looking at some rain once again, in the southern part of delaware. A mother has called police because she thought someone stole her car. Then when police got there, they found another family situation involving her little girl. Lets get right out to jenny joyce to sort of sort out what we know at this early hour. Jenny . Reporter karen there is turned into very serious situation, pretty fast here. It all happened between one and 2 00 this morning. A mother here on the 5500 block of north american street, in olney, called police. She said hey, Somebody Just took off with my car. I think it is a Family Member. It was amitoses sue bushy suv, drove down american street, had police come here, Police Officers responded. They said hey, do you have your car registration . She ran back inside the home looking for that paperwork. Then she comes out, back out of the house, minutes later, screaming holding her seven year old caught here is now unresponsive. The mother says that she found her daughter with a bag over her head. She is in critical condition, responding officers immediately performed cpr on the daughter here on the front lawn before rushing her in a Police Vehicle to Einstein Medical Center where she remains in critical condition. So it all started again with a mother concerned about her stolen vehicle and then quickly her priorities changed, once she found her daughter, again, in the basement, with a plastic bag over her head. How that happened, still unclear, whether or not the child had any other signs every trauma, thats also unclear. Police did tell us that the daughter showing some vital signs, but again, she still remains in critical condition. The car was actually recovered only a few blocks from here at third and champ plows street. It apparently had crashed into several parked cars. They did recover the vehicle. Theyve not yet found that Family Member. It is unclear whetheror not that Family Member had anything to do with this situation involving the seven year old. Thats the suspect who got away with the car that had a little baby in the back. Mom was at the gas station, all the sudden that guy hopped in the vehicle, took off with the one year old in the back seat. Police quickly did finds that car with that baby still strapped into the carseat. Toddler not hurt. Officers soon arrested that guy, 31 year old pedro martinez, faces carjacking and kidnapping charges. 4 07. Lee kaplan is facing long list of charges, after police found 11 girls, age six to 18, living in his feasterville home last june.
