For the first time in five years philadelphia teachers have a new contract they voted last night to improve an agreement between their union and School District. And we have been hearing from some teachers who say, that they seem to be happy this is not a perfect contract by any means but it is a pay raise for first time in five years. Tonight the contract will go before the School Reform commission for approval, last night, members of the Philadelphia Federation of teachers met at Liacouras Center vote on the contract, agreement, the tentative deal has been reached by pft and School District last friday. Now process moves forward, while most teachers seem excited to be working with the contract they say there are some issues that were not addressed in the agreement like trying to decrease class size and improving building maintenance.
