A man is shot, then hes run over by a car and thats just the beginning of this weird, twisted tail. Foxs steve keeley has the story. Reporter two days after a guy being shot 18 times this guy shot 12 times at the stroke of midnight isnt the coincidental part, believe it or not. Thats the sad part. This guy never really stood a chance. Even though police heard the gunfire on patrol. They get to the guy within seconds, get him into the police car to the hospital within moments because its not too far away because besides being shot at dozen times at point blank range close enough that the bullet shots rolled off his body just inches away, in between those few moments of getting shot and police getting to him he also got something else, run over by a 79 year old arrested for drunk driving. You know of that at least 12 shots were fired from a semi automatic weapon. We found 12 spent shell casings, some were just feet away from where the victim had collapsed which is indication that he was the intended target and also an indicator that he was shot from point blank range. We did find a nearby business in the area that does have exterior surveillance cameras, so hopefully those cameras recorded something that could help us with our investigation. Right now we do not have a motive for the shooting. Its just a very unusual homicide for our shooting victim after having been shot multiple times he fell down on girard avenue and then was run over by a 79 year old male who had to be stopped by police two blocks away. That 79 year old male is in custody for drunk driving. Now i dont have the experience that a chief inspector with the police department, highly respected scott small has, but i think i have the motive because once they get to the hospital and they declare him dead inside his pockets they find crack cocaine and another loaded gun.
