Unattended car after 5 00 this evening near madison and third street. That was about the time many people were making their way to the west lawn of the capitol for the memorial day concert tonight. Authorities are convinced daron wint had help in killing savvas savopoulos, his wife, housekeeper and 10yearold son. Police confirmed the men and women detained when wint was captured on thursday have been released. A former prosecutor helps sort out what might be going on in that investigation. The police are trying to build an investigation. Theyre the trying to rush to judgment or have wrong people charged. So just because they were released that time doesnt mean that the police are not going to go back and talk to them again and again and again as well as talking to any family members, friends, coworkers who may have information that they told them. Police are trying to corroborate what, if anything, these people said to police at this time . Right. Just trying to build or if theyve said anything to anybody else as to why they were in the truck and car. What about the personal assistant who delivered the 40,000 . Are you as a prosecutor interested in him trying to poke holes in his story or substantiate what he is or isnt saying . We already know hes been a little inconsistent. They know its probably an inside job in order for the money to leave from place of employment to come to house in 40,000 cash. Theyre obviously going to talk to him again as well as again talk to anyone in terms of other employees, other friends, family members. As a prosecutor and you dont have all the information they have. Right. But are you convinced mored in than mr. Wint who was an employee more inside than mr. Wint who was an employee but maybe somebody high are up . There had to be higher . There has to be stop connection because wint worked there 10 years ago. There has to be some connection with someone working there now who knows the details. When they say in charging documents they believe others were involved, is that because you look at the crime, the number of victims, how they were held and killed and say one person couldnt have done all this or do you think they have evidence . I think initially they know that one person could not have held three adults and a child by themselves, tortured them without someone being able to get away or use their cell phone to dial 911. Daron wint is held without bond due back in court next month. Always watching always tracking, wusa9s first alert weather, d. C. s most accurate. Its the start of summer. Our forecast tonight clear to pac, not as cool as this morning partly cloudy , not as cool as this morning when dulles got down to 48 degrees. I think the cool spots are upper 50s to lower 60s in town. Tomorrow morning warm, 60s and 70s, low 80s by lunchtime with highs between 805 to perhaps 90, mid to upper 85 to perhaps 90, mid to upper 80s. On tuesday 90, the isolated storm, better chance wednesday. Wednesday a few afternoon storms, possibly a yellow alert day, 90, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday, mid to upper 80s and every day will be humid day will have that threat for the afternoon shower and storm. This is more like a sevenday forecast you might see in miami then in d. C. Im thinking with those storms lightsening, its going to be terrible with all this humidity.
